Celebrate: WORLD ARCHITECTURE DAY & LEGO HOUSE
LEGO House - “Home of the Brick” is a key point architecture building in my model, located in Zone A with using color elements to highlight the more joyfully and elegantly than other ones as well as presenting well my theme while Zone B, C, and D applied the white elements as architectural style.
I scaled down all buildings in my model to bring them to come together into a small collection of the urban city in the sketchbook.
In my model, I mainly used white elements for buildings and towers because white is a great element that is usually presented in models in the studios of architecture, as well as green elements for plants.
Dimensions: Height: 11.8 inches / 299.72 mm Width: 8.1 inches / 205.74 mm Depth: 12.2 inches / 309.88 mm
For the 90th anniversary of LEGO, I’d like to present an amazing model with a sustainability concept for celebrating world architecture day (on the first Monday of every October) to “remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat,” as well as the design of LEGO House building by Bjarke Ingels, my favorite architect, mainly focuses on sustainable and joyful concepts for his designs. I was so happy for this model won the award “winner” prize in the contest celebrating 90 years of play in LEGO House.
Zone B includes Habitat 67, Tao Zhu Yin Yuan (Agora Garden), De Rotterdam, Petronas Towers, Bank of China Tower (Hongkong), Tour Montparnasse, Taipei 101, Gojunoto - The five-story pagoda (Shitennō-Ji pagoda), Hanok (Korea). Zone C includes San Francisco Salesforce Tower, Willis Tower, Burj Khalifa, Landmark 81, and Shanghai World Financial Center. Zone D includes Marina Bay Sands, Pont Éric Tabarly, 432 Park Avenue, Nile River, and Office Buildings.
Micro LEGO House Sketches
Do you recognize or know any names of the architecture in my model?
My model has 7 single chairs which can be connected or separated by Lego technic joints. The model is very flexible which allows we can move and change the position of 7 chairs that we want. The original arrangement of my model is 1. Westside Lounge Chair by Ettore Sottsass (1983), 2. “White & Black” Armchair by Boi Design (2022), 3. Z-Chair by Zaha Hadid (2011), 4. Robie 1 Chair by Frank Lloyd Wright (1908), 5. VIA57 Lounge Chair by Bjarke Ingels (2016), 6. Marshmallow Sofa by George Nelson (1956), and 7. Barcelona Chair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1929). These 6 chairs are selected after the early modernism period time, except for the “White & Black” Armchair which I designed. the beauty of what you love be what you do”
The mid-century modernism focused on furniture that was simple, elegant, and functional. This style has become very popular these days as it offers a clean, beautiful look that everyone can afford. Mid-century modern home fashion represents a clean, organized lifestyle. Chair is an amazing piece of furniture designed for a person sitting or reclining, supporting the back and usually the arms, and usually standing on four legs. In philosophy, the chair is considered an inanimate object carrying the essence of truth, goodness, friendliness, feeling, love, power, and beauty. 8.0 203.2

I am very excited to share my new model named “Seven Wonderful Chairs Design” with approximately 1,330 LEGO pieces, for celebrating World Interiors Day (annual at the end of May), organized by IFI (International Federation of Interior Architects/ Designers), which encourages cultural exchange and enhances awareness of the Interior Design profession as well as communicating its importance to our society today. I would say interior spaces often promote the functioning of the environments in which we exist, making them essential to stimulating our daily lives; especially, chair design.

KING WEST. ST CONDOS
I’m always looking forward to the amazing projects in the world so that I could rebuild them with Lego bricks. One day, I discovered an interesting article about “BIG’s King Street West Condo in Toronto.” As I know King Toronto Condos is a new project of residential condominiums designed by B.I.G Architecture firm but, in fact, it is a “UNIQUE PROJECT NEVER EVER BEEN BUILD IN TORONTO.” https://vboidesignstudio.blogspot.com/2021/07/review-king-west-st-condos.html
There are four existing heritage buildings, which are retained and given a new commercial function. These buildings add to the diverse experience on the ground plane. Using the Lego bricks is never easy to create the building with the rectangle of a 45-degree grid to open up views and increase exposure and interior spaces. The roof surface is shaped by 4 peaks and valleys to maximize views and daylight. I tried to use the same technique with dark red bricks, yellow bricks, and glass bricks on level 1. The glass brick can be transparent sparkling and refracting in the daylight and glowing from within at night. Moreover, the lightness and luminosity of the glass brick provide the urban mountain range with the glacial lightness of an iceberg. Let’s imagine that you are walking around the beautiful condos and dream you are living there with your family.
SHARIFI-HA HOUSE
It’s a great flexible design in Architecture, designed by Tehran studio Next Office, Sharifi-ha House features three rooms that can be rotated 90 degrees to open up views and terraces during Iran’s hot summers and turned back to a horizontal position to keep the house warmer during the cold, snowy winters.
Dimensions: Height: 5.2 inches / 132.08 mm Width: 6.2 inches / 157.48 mm Depth: 4.9 inches / 124.46 mm
Dimensions: Height: 14.1 inches / 358.14 mm Width: 6.2 inches / 157.48 mm Depth: 4.3 inches / 109.22 mm
This Sharifi-ha House model was constructed with approximately 367 LEGO pieces. I just redesigned the front part of the house to show features three rooms that can be rotated 90 degrees to open up views.
432 Park CondominiumsAvenue
432 Park Avenue is a residential skyscraper at 57th Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, overlooking Central Park. It has 84 numbered stories and a mezzanine above ground. The tower’s exterior is a lattice of poured-in-place concrete made from white Portland cement. The tower is segmented into 12-story blocks separated by open double-story mechanical spaces that allow wind gusts to pass through the building.
HAINANHONGKONGCHICKEN
LEGO MOC model of the Hainan Chicken Rice is built with the style at the Kreta Ayer Hainan Chicken Specialist in Central, Hong Kong with the restaurant’s boss - David Wu. I tried to use every single element of LEGO to build it with many details in order to achieve 95% similarity with the reality of the Hainan Chicken Rice. It’s so good and delicious. I always love this food. The model includes seasoned rice with 241 pcs, five pieces of chicken with 74 pcs, three pieces of cucumbers with 45 pcs, a bamboo flat tray and cooking paper with 426 pcs, a cup of soup with 95 pcs, sauces with red (chili sweet and sour sauce), yellow (minced ginger), and black (sweet soy sauce) with totally 282 pcs. I approximately used 1,163 LEGO pieces to create whole Hainan Chicken Rice model. To make the model even more real, I tried to use the same technique which is cooking paper can be used to absorb the oil of seasoned rice and chicken. This model would tell people what Hainan Chicken Rice is and its culture and behind its story.

Some parts of the model I did with my creation but I still maintain the horizontal line of the traditional design concept. There are so many details I did such as food, glass mirrors with red, blue, and yellow; Chinese lanterns, drawers, and so on; especially, two cute wooden chair. I built three drawers that could open. Besides, I have two tiny winsome carter counter stools with wood color bricks. Of course, my model is presented as very friendly, very neat, very simple, and very taste of the traditional noodle cart in MySaigon.favorite part of the model is the red, blue, and yellow glass mirrors with Chinese characters painted on its surface that show and tell you about Chinese culture and interesting stories. Traditional Wooden Noodle Cart is a noodle cart of Chinese that became more popular in Saigon (today Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) after 1990. They are independent street vendors operating on the roadside and in housing complexes and estates in the Chinese community districts, using carts. I was born at that time and deeply attached to that culture as well as I have seen it is gradually changing over time. I’d like to use my hand knowledge to build it with LEGO bricks for telling this great story, amazing culture, and food to many people. It also became a small part of my memory and culture, as well as emphasized my new design concept which based on “the taste of the traditional noodle cart.”

CULTURALINTERNATIONALCENTER Dimensions: Height: 4.7in / 119.38mm Width: 11.8in / 299.72mm Depth: 8.1in / 205.74mm In the model, I used mainly elements that include the small glass brick 1 x2 and 1 x1, and light and dark brown plates 1 x2, 1 x3, 1 x4, 1 x6, and 1 x8, and other LEGO bricks. LEGO glass bricks represent material which called BIM glasses and brown plates describe like wood or lumber.
International Cultural Center is an amazing architecture project made entirely with 1052 LEGO pieces. This model refers to sustainable design in architecture which focuses on building design and construction that lessens the impact of urban development on the environment. Many architects and designers create buildings that require less land development, use more environmentally friendly materials, are more energy-efficient as well as reduce environmental pollution. Its design is inspired by Sara Kulturhus Center, a great building focusing on mainly wood structures.

It was located in a strip of land that was originally created as an icebreaker to protect the harbor of Montreal the st. Lawrence River on one side the old city in the old port Montreal on the other. It’s an outstanding feature of the cityscape as well as a beautiful piece of architecture. Comprising a three-dimensional landscape of 354 stacked concrete “boxes”, Habitat 67 pioneered the combination of two major housing typologies – the urban garden residence and the modular high-rise apartment building.
Habitat 67 is my favorite green architecture in condos which gave me the opportunity to separate the ideas to create two models in two years. In 2018, I picked the first part of Habitat 67 to create a small version with the yellow-brown and green elements. While in 2019, I built the rest of Habitat 67 with white and green in architecture studio style. It was a great experience for exploring architecture with LEGO and the process of the design in a small scale.
TAO ZHU YIN YUAN
My Taipei skyline’s concept opened the way for the development of Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower (Agora Garden) with a big-scale mode while Tao Zhu Yin Yuan was just a tiny landscape building placed on the Taipei skyline in 2020. When the MOC model is completed, its structure looks like a real building achieving 90 percent. During the progress, I tried to make up a strong base to support the twisting tower with 21 floors. More impressively, is the fact the Tower, each floor rotates 4.5 degrees relative to the prior floor for a total rotation of 90 degrees through the 21 floors. It made me difficult when I moved up 21 floors of the tower with a total rotation of 90 degrees. Finally, I completed the model. I believe that this tower identifies as forest architecture showing a great combination of science and technology as well as harnessing nature to help the surrounding environment.
In the process of the model, I tried to use the same technique as a real building with white, blue, and green elements in LEGO. At the base of the tower, we can see some green trees with lego bricks and tiny solar panels. My favorite part of the model is the part of the surface on the rooftop of the tower looking down with following the twisting of the tower turning clockwise. I believe that they are the power of sustainable design perspectives as well as its uniqueness. It’s an important part created the pay attention for the builder in the beauty of green architecture in Taipei. Taipei, Taiwan
Ideal City 2050 is a great urban landscape project with sustainable architecture and Afrofuturism ideas. Based on the Epa - Adinkra symbol of Africa, a great symbol of law and justice, I’d like to design the urban landscape model by two square shapes connected together where placed skyscrapers, towers, and houses as well as having fly hypersonic aircraft of peerless sophistication on the sky. The skyscrapers are focused at the center of the city and separated by a short winding river. On each side of the city, I built some historical architectural buildings such as ancient temples, churches, or pyramids integrated into modern structures. Especially, I used eight Tron lightcycle parts for designing the stop stations and also providing the lighting function for the whole city.

My purpose is to bring architecture go beyond in the future by using a way of imagining possible futures through a black cultural lens and drawing an artistic picture that is not only aesthetic but also proud of human civilization.
Concept
The sketch showed the planning urban city with cycles and how to use the elements such as black, transparent white, and brown to build up every single building. I also thought about the location of the skyscrapers and other historical buildings and houses.
My favorite part is the power of the black elements to shape every single building in particular and the whole model in general.
Sketches
In the model, there are 60 percent of the primary color is black; 30 percent of the secondary color is transparent white; 10 percent of the accent color is transparent brown to show a strong hierarchy and emphasis on functions and a streamlined form.

Van Gogh Art Gallery MOC model is completed with 1,506 LEGO pieces Van Gogh Art Gallery This MOC model is pretty cool, organized, and neat. This model is designed simply in studio architectural style. It could open the two sides for seeing the whole inside the interior. There have eight art paintings that are exhibited. The interior wall can rotate 360 degrees that we can see the paintings. The showcase led light is exhibited the painting tools of Van Gogh. Moreover, on two sides of white walls, I put Van Gogh’s two famous quotes: one is “I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart.” and the other is “What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” “Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit,” San Francisco, CA
The interesting thing in my design is “flexibility” that I can be the interchangeable position of the audiences and director area (same size frame), as well as I designed opening two parts for more seeing clearly and focusing on the main scene. The big challenge for me is the layout of how to fit and could present the whole idea of the model with the different perspective views such as the main scene reflecting extra scenes. It will be telling you what the story is, what kind of cultures are, when and where it is going on, and beyond. Explore the final Yan Can Cook MOC model of approximately 894 LEGO pieces (Prototype 924 LEGO pieces) with one character - Mr. Yan that many people could enjoy! Due to “Yan Can Cook” has had so many tv series, here, I want to present the modern studio kitchen with “Yan Can Cook” and it’s also the main key for builders to think back in the part of the original of his show. I would say that this is a very inspiring project about the tradition, culture, and food of the Chinese. Looking at the model shows so many details, very neat and simple interior design. The mini characters also contribute to making the space of the model more dynamic and unique.

The “Team 7 Reunion” is an amazing model with approximately 1022 LEGO pieces, inspired by the animation of Naruto Shippuden. This model presents Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke had a very difficult time and went through many challenges many years apart. Those things made them more mature and stronger as well as, finally, brought them back with Team 7 in Naruto Shippuden. They are standing on the rock and ready for facing the challenge in the front, saving the ninja world as well as preparing for a mission in which together they rebuild a new ninja world for the future and protect and take care of the new generations. Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke are heroes in the ninja world (known as the second generation of Legendary “Sannin”)
I think a big challenge that I faced creating the model was to build the body shape of each character such as Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke. I used some curved and slope elements to present the character’s outfit become more vivid and unique. Moreover, I tried to select the colors for matching the characters. Of course, the colors are very harmonious and balanced. Comparing the model to the character in the anime, the similarity of them is about 75 -85 percents.
My favorite part of this model is the power of the model. Looking at the characters’ hair gave me a lot of fun with the process and seeing how the hair transforms in its direction. Besides, observing from the top to the base of the model shows white smoke and clan symbols which are so cool. I like much on every single detail of the model I designed. The model will be telling people about the importance of relationships and connection person-to-person and community, as well as emphasizing teamwork, friendship, brotherhood, and beyond. If you’re the first time to hear of Naruto Shippuden, the “Team 7 Reunion” model will give you the opportunity to experience the Naruto story in Shinobi (Ninja) world as well as have fun with LEGO. Exterior and interior blend together to make people feel comfortable and pleasant in the space of dining area, kitchen and cafe as well as break room area. For the design of Vanessa (Community Kitchen building), I tried to rethink community gathering spaces, how their shape, size, and placement can accommodate a wider range of physical and psychological safety. During COVID-19, I expanded the space in the program and created the design with functional biomimicry holes forms for ventilation instead of the flexibility between indoor and outdoor space. I believe that it will keep people safe in gathering for communal events in the future.

TINY HOUSE Tiny House is an amazing project based on the design with “living less space.” My tiny house occupied an area of 448 sq.ft to serve as a small family or couple. The surrounding exterior of the house is presented with a rectangle form and covered with dark color. There are three floors including a living room, kitchen, dining area, study or office area, three sleeping areas, one bathroom, and two restrooms. I designed the glass win dow on the roof which catches nature light in for the stairs. Every floor is designed with open space making the interior more bright and airy. The arrangement of furniture is very neat and simple but they are quite good looking. I provided a simple open space with floors bringing people living there to feel comfortable and cozy.
The idea comes from the pyramid structure in Egypt creating four triangles placed at four symmetrical points. The Sukkah is designed simply with open space in order to catch the more natural light, wind, and air to make people feel comfortable and close to nature. team’s power is “teamwork and collaboration”
