These pages show some quick sketches of a sliding mechanism which acts as an additional table. I was thinking about the concept of maximising space, and clever ways of introducing new areas for people to use. These sketches then fuelled my ideas of having building with moveable pillars or movable platforms. These drawings are for experimental purposes only, so they may not be completely accurate, but they display thoughts and ideas that cross my mind.
I continued to think about pillar shapes for exterior aesthetics, and considered introducing trees or nature sections. I wanted to create a modern styled exterior which included parking. I like the idea of having a car in view of the living room, especially if the car is exclusive. Almost so it can be admired as a piece of art, because that’s what it is.
I introduced another level to the design whilst thinking about privacy and maximizing natural lighting. The sketches below show a concept of walls which can pivot independently, allowing light to flood the top level.
These sketches continue the designs from the previous page. More maximizing light!
I decided to return to the maximising space idea; this design is for a kitchen. I purchased some new ProMarkers, so I began experimenting with them.
I noticed a lot of buildings have smart ways of shading around windows, so I thought about different ways I could redesign this product. The next page shows different ways to get to the top floor via exterior areas.

After I thought about different ways to get to the top floor via the exterior, I thought about introducing ladders which are angled to make them safer to use. The next page shows structures being built around nature, not the other way around.
I thought I’d mix it up slightly and draw some cars! My friend Tim drew the sketch below, looks like I have some competition!
