Autumn 2020

A musings production

Autumn 2020, well that alone is enough to conjure up dread isn't it? It's been a hard year on many levels but hopefully Autumn can give some hope for what will be a long winter full of potential lockdowns and flu season. I don't know what it is about Autumn that has inspired poets, artists and dreamers for years but for me it is almost spiritual, it's a feeling that is only challenged by Cherry Blossom season for me. It seems to be so deeply ingrained in my psyche that I don't think of Autumn as an end to summer but rather a celebration and a harbinger of cooler and dare I say it colder weather... which has me smiling as I type. Even thinking of the feelings of Autumn I have the picture in my mind of cold walks, cozy knitwear, warming soups after a day of making photographs, check shirts, boots and a smile on my usually miserable face. These images have all been made in the month of October with a combination of vintage digital and film, the lo-fi approach is something that appeals to me and brings something for me in the process, the end image can look great but if I get nothing from the process the image will never be seen publicly.
