Application Design for Smart Grids

The HXD810 Series Reclosers are designed to compose and meet the requirements of the intelligent grid. The recloser can reduce by more than 80% the power interruption events in the distribution grid. It is designed with DNP 3.0, Modbus RTU, IEC60870-5-103, IEC60870-5-101 and IEC 61850 protocols (optional), what allow it have full communication and integration capabilities with most DMS systems.

Economic choice

The HXD810 Automatic Recloser is the best solution to ensure the protection of the distribution grid, with the main objective of helping power distributors to reduce the DEC and FEC, with fast and automatic performance to restore energy in case of temporary poer fault, and even in cases of permanent fault the recloser assists in locating the hitted circuit, always aiming the well being of its customers.

Switching Device Function

The HXD810 series recloser can also be used as a power switch / telesupervised power switch with the DMS system, integrating the best distribution automation solutions, reducing the total interruption duration, and improving the selectivity of the protection system. 03


INTRODUÇÃO

Introduction

Hexing in Brazil, by Eletra Energy, aims to provide completed distribution solutions for our customers. Combining excellent performance, competitive prices and with our global service team, we offer the best choices for our customers. Among the automation products for distribution systems, the HXD810 series reclosers can meet your needs in a variety of applications. The HXD810 series automatic reclosers are designed for distribution line applications and also for distribution substations in nominal voltage classes of 15.5kV, 27kV and 38kV. The HXD810 Reclosers feature in the following models: • HXD810-15.5 Automatic three-phase vacuum recloser, class 15.5kV; • HXD810-27 Automatic three-phase vacuum recloser, class 27kV; • HXD810-38 Automatic three-phase vacuum recloser, class 38k. The HXD810 Series Reclosers are three-pole, solidly isolated and with vacuum interruption. Each recloser consists of 3 poles, with 3 current transformers and 6 built-in voltage sensors to carry out line side and load side measurement, 3 interruption ampoules and actuating mechanism mounted in a stainless steel tank. The recloser consists of a vacuum switch with magnetic actuating mechanism and a control cubicle. The HXD810 Series Reclosers have been tested in accordance with IEC 62271-111-2012 (IEEE C37.60-2012).

The Reclosers will be manufactured in Hexing China, and exported by ELETRA in Brazil. A number of services such as protection relay assembly, control assembly revision and all quality assurance tests, will be carried out at ELETRA's modern plant in Eusébio / CE. In addition to factory acceptance testing in ELETRA's Medium Voltage laboratory.

Environmental Compliance

The current transformers and voltage sensors conformation meet customer requirements for overcurrent protection and measurement of related electrical quantities in single encapsulation, external solidly insulated pole, without the use of SF6 gas and encapsulated in epoxy. Composed of 3 current transformers and 6 built-in voltage sensors.

Control Box

The control box is the brain of the recloser, with the main function of interrupting a temporary fault in the grid and automatically restart or isolate the permanent fault, avoiding more power grid failures.

Epoxy Encapsulation & Vacuum Switch

The poles are manufactured with epoxy-silicone encapsulation, applying advanced APG manufacturing technology. It has a layer of silicone cover on epoxy, with capacity of self recovery and mechanical resistance. It features high insulation performance, flame and explosion resistant, ultraviolet and ozone resistant, small and compact, long service life, minimal maintenance, reliable operation and zero pollution.

Voltage Sensor

The HXD810 Automatic Recloser has 6 built-in voltage capacitive sensors for voltage measurement. Three are on the side of the fountain and the other three are on the loading side. The voltage signals are transmitted to the control, which measures both the source side and the load side.

Current Transformer

The HXD810 Automatic Recloser is equipped with current transformers built into each phase; Insulation also in epoxy-silicone. According to necessity, ratios of 600: 1, 400: 1, 300: 1 or 200: 1 may be provided.

Stainless Steel Tank

The HXD810 Automatic Recloser tank is made of high performance 304 stainless steel with surface treatment against oxidation after welding. Coated in light gray with polyurethane paint. The tank, including the control cable connector, has an IP55 protection degree.

Magnetic Actuator

The HXD810 Automatic Recloser is designed to perform the opening and closing operations with simultaneous tripolar actuation, using a special magnetic actuation mechanism based on permanent magnet, coil operation and mechanical coupling. It also has manual opening and locking lever for maneuver rod operations. In comparison with the traditional mechanical actuator, the magnetic actuator uses simplified mechanisms, reducing mechanical components by up to 50%, thus improving the reliability and longevity of the mechanical assembly. Energy storage by capacitors are used for better performance, allowing operation more frequently without maintenance.

Manual Trip Lever

The HXD810 Automatic Recloser is equipped with a manual opening lever, which allows opening of the recloser by a hot stick when there is a fault of power control, electronic fault or for simple opening and blocking of any closing controls. By pulling the lever ring down, the mechanical opening is performed, while blocking the closing of the equipment until the position of the lever is normalized, also by means of maneuvering rod. In addition, a limit switch inside the recloser signals the mechanical locking status for the controller.

Contact Position Indicator

A position indicator pointer, visible from the ground, located next to the recloser to indicate the position of the contacts, indicating "C" (Red) when the contacts are closed and "O" (Green) when the recloser contacts are open.

Operations Counter

It is a 5-digit mechanical counter located at the bottom of the recloser tank. This counter is coupled to the drive mechanism and registers cumulatively each time the recloser operates.

Secondary Connection

The control and measurement connections of the HXD810 Automatic Recloser are made through a 32-pin connector (Han-K 8/24), and it has a protective cover with lock to protect it when there is no connection of controller cable.

Control box The control box uses the Siemens 7SR224 IED, with directional overcurrent, neutral overcurrent, ground fault, automatic reclosing relay, instantaneous measurement, event log, demand register, remote terminal unit (RTU) for control and remote monitoring, among many other functions, in a single package. The cubicle is designed to minimize the increase in internal temperature by solar incidence. The box made of stainless steel houses all modules, operator interface, protection relay, actuation module, battery charger and so on.

Installation Details Dimensions

Connection Terminals The HXD810 Automatic Recloser can use either flat-pad or eyebolt terminals. Both are made of copper with rated current 630A. The flat-pad terminal can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The Eyebolt terminal supports cable diameter from 12mm to 24mm.
