SECTION AA (@1:500) • The concrete facade covers the building, hiding the floorplates. • Library is divided into 5 separate floors, each floor-to-height ceiling is 5 meters. • Ground floor is designed as an extension of the public park nearby, first floor is intended for free open plan for reading and study, second floor designed as collaborative space and fabrication workshop, third floor as archive, and the fourth floor as rented space for offices/meetings..etc • The intersection of the facades create small pockets of spaces, which can be used as an outdoor area (locate on first and second floor).

LINEAR PERSPECTIVE (INTERIOR) • • • • •

Linear perspective (interior) of the reading and study area on the first floor The first floor is divided into reading and study areas, outdoor area and computer lab. These spatial configurations are based on the twisted spiral gesture (see floor plan above) Bookshelves act as balustrades along the voids, providing additional storage spaces for books. The void on each level also informs the shape of the staircase.

LINEAR PERSPECTIVE (EXTERIOR) • The exterior of the building is mainly composed of concrete walls, with glazing in areas where sunlight may be needed for the internal space to function. • Glazing allows visual connectivity between interior and exterior, while the concrete walls do not. • Skylight brings in light through the central voids, where the grand staircases locate.

FIRST FLOOR PLAN (@1:200) • The concept of this library proposal is using a spiral gesture to inform the circulation, internal/external spaces and structure of the building. • The first floor is designed to accomodate reading and study spaces. The floor is loosely arranged, with furnitures and shelves alilgned accordingly to the twisted spiral form. • This provides an open, flexible floor plan
