Hello, my name is Davin and now I am on my final year as Architecture Undergraduate student at Institut Teknologi Bandung. I believe contextual approach is important to make appropriate architecture. I often see myself as a curious individual, determined, and also enjoying architecture research, particularly in social housing design, being in a group discussion, and watching animal facts on YouTube.

In this project, there are 3 points to achieve this concept, which is:

revitalizing slum area that already have a social and economical attachment to the place that they were lived on and want to have the same attachment for their new house. This is because the people involved in their own house design process,

So, in order to build the sense of ownership, we designed the first floor to be incremental. This adjustment helps to fulfill the different needs of Kebun Binatang residents.

Easy and Economical Construction

Tin roof is relatively cheap and easy to get. Also the maintenance is relatively easy. Simple roof truss that can be put together with simple joints like nuts and bolts. Wall that constructed with OSB wood that relatively cheap and can maintain the temperature inside. Wall bed that can easily be folded when not used to give more space.

Large opening that promotes cross ventilation and reducing the narrowness. Ergonomic stairs that follow human step. Maximizing usable area. The door that can folded up to close the stairs.

Steel column put together with wood block with nuts and bolts joints.

Concrete plate that has opening for agricultural needs.

A Cure for the Future | Outdoor Space Competition Entry for Architecture Festival Petra 2018: Contextual Micro Space with R. Cecylia P. Costania, Putri Belinda, and Mentari Hanifa D. Status: Entry Location: Kanayakan, Bandung, Indonesia

In Kanayakan, there were a wall that divides the rich and the poor. It creates a residual space that either side won’t use anytime soon. But, as long as the title says, why we design it for children? What kind of interaction can possibly drawn between either of them? Well, why trouble yourself fxing something from the already fragile twigs when you can focus on creating its solid foundation? Children are our foundation. The idea is to obliviate what all of our ego has caused for us. With our design we hope to help restore social equality through children. Because they are the cure to our past mistakes.

Space and Form Organization Studio The objective is to make a public space eg. park in the bank of river. We have to organize four different masses to make some positive space that the public can use. I took an approach which colliding curve surface and more angular surface to make an interesting space in the park.

Architectural Design Studio III In this project, the objective is to make a co-working space in one of the main street in Bandung. We have to make a section model. I cut my model here to show the roof truss that also making the space in the upper floor more interesting.

Structure and Form Studio

I do this project with Mentari Hanifa and Slamet Zarkasih. The objective of this project is to make a form active structure. We realize that when we curled up some plastic, it manages to hold weigth. So we curl the plastic and make some structure to resemble a rose.

Architectural Design Studio V This model is The Formation project model.
