Franรงois Curlet Intuitive Galerie, 2010 plexiglass hat, Brain by Katharina Fritsch poster by M/M (Paris) Courtesy Galerie Micheline Szwajcer, Antwerp
Taking inspiration from Robert Filliou’s Galerie Légitime, François Curlet created his Intuitive Galerie, which also takes the form of a plexiglas hat. Curlet has appropriated Filliou’s method of wearing a hat that contains works of art on your head and brain – the place where our ideas and thoughts are generated and stored. Exhibited within Intuitive Galerie is a plaster sculpture of a brain by the artist Katharine Fritsch, which plays on Filliou’s libertarian idea of creating a space that allows freedom for the mind as well as freedom of movement. It is also accompanied by a poster by designers M/M (Paris).
