2008 MP Annual Report

What did Labour do in 2008?

Looking back over 2008 and forward to the year ahead Dear Friends, 2008 has been an important year for the Labour Party. We enter 2009 having established ourselves as the party that will support people through tough economic times. The Tories enter 2009 as the party that will do nothing. The public are speaking loudly and clearly: Gordon Brown is the man they trust to take the economy through difficult times ahead. People have not been boughtoff by David Cameron’s shallow approach to politics, and his weakness as a capable leader has been on show for all to see. Serious times call for serious politics, and Cameron just can’t deliver the goods. But let us make no mistake, though our poll standing is improving and the Tories are nowhere near on course to form the next Government, the work for the next General Election campaign starts now. 2009 will be the most important year for the Labour Party since 1997. Gillingham and Rainham can be won or lost in 2009, and I need your help to make sure it stays Labour and that local people can continue to be supported when times get tough.

Can you help? Inside this Annual Report there is a form to complete to ask how you can help my campaign. We need your support more than ever to keep Gillingham and Rainham safe from Tory cuts and weak leadership. All the best for 2009,

Paul Clark MP
