DUAL CREDIT

NCTC offers high school students the opportunity to take college courses through the Dual Credit Program. Students that successfully complete Dual Credit courses will be awarded both college credit and high school graduation credit. ASPIRE TO BE HIRED

The NCTC initiative, Aspire to be Hired, seeks to professionally develop career and technical education students in the employability skills most sought by employers. Students will receive intentional instruction and supplemental student success coaching to develop these professional employability skills: Professional Communication, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Interpersonal Skills/Professionalism and Ethical Decision Making.

The Mane Stop provides students centralized services which include Admissions, Financial Aid, and Adult & Continuing Education. CONTINUING EDUCATION

The CE Division offers career training courses and programs such as: Certified Logistics Training, SHRM, Real Estate, PMP Certification, and many others. Also available are non-credit Occupational Skills Awards (OSA). An OSA prepares students for immediate employment in a demand occupation, or helps students already in the workforce to enhance their skills. Some courses completed to achieve a non-credit OSA may be applied toward a Level 1 Certificate or AAS Degree at NCTC. For a complete listing of non-credit OSA’s, go to nctc.edu/ce/osa-programs.

ADMISSIONS CHECKLIST

1. COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION ONLINE AT APPLYTEXAS.ORG.

2. SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS. Dual credit students submit a high school transcript. First-time college students submit high school transcript with graduation date or GED Scores. Transfer college students submit all official college transcripts.

3. COMPLETE TEXAS SUCCESS INITIATIVE (TSI) REQUIREMENTS BY TAKING THE TSIA2 PLACEMENT TEST OR SUBMITTING PROOF OF EXEMPTION. For more information visit nctc.edu/testing/tsia2.

4. SUBMIT BACTERIAL MENINGITIS VACCINATION. Students under the age of 22 must provide proof of immunization documentation.

5. CONTACT ADVISING TO DISCUSS CLASSES FOR YOUR MAJOR AT NCTC.EDU/ADVISING.

6. TRANSFER STUDENTS ONLY COMPLETE TRANSFER 101 USING THE LINK EMAILED TO YOU FROM ADMISSIONS@NCTC.EDU.

7. APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID AT STUDENTAID.GOV/H/APPLY-FOR-AID/FAFSA. Use code 003558 to have your financial aid information sent to NCTC. Priority Deadline: Fall Semester June 1 | Spring Semester November 1 | Summer Semester April 1

8. APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AT NCTC.EDU/SCHOLARSHIPS. Deadline: Fall Semester April 15 | Spring Semester October 15

9. PAYMENT FOR CLASSES. Contact the NCTC business office to determine the right payment option for you.

10. GET YOUR STUDENT ID CARD AND PARKING PASS.
