The Red River Promise Program has allowed me to focus on school full time while not worrying about the financial burdens of paying for classes. While still work in order to save money for my education after NCTC, the Red River Promise program has allowed me the flexibility to take the time I need to study and be successful.

I am currently a full-time college student at NCTC in Graham. I am in my fifth semester at NCTC as I took dual credit classes in high school.

I am on the Mechanical Engineering pathway as a Red River Promise Student currently earning my prerequisites to transfer to Texas A&M. When I graduate, I hope to work for an environmentally conscious company creating a positive future for us all.

I am very much looking forward to graduation day where I will walk across the stage with my head held high, proudly waving to my family knowing how dedicated I was to finishing my education. I want to thank all of the Red River Promise donors who have made my education here at NCTC possible.

Thank you for making my education dreams possible,

I was born and raised in Gainesville and am currently a sophomore at NCTC.

I am working towards finishing my prerequisites for the ADN program.

After NCTC, my goal is to earn a BSN-RN. My dream is to work as an RN in pediatrics at a children's hospital.

Children are my passion! As a first-generation college student, nothing about the process seemed easy. FAFSA, scholarships, applications, tuition, advisors, loans, and grants were all so new to us.

I am beyond grateful for the donors for helping make my dreams come true. None of this would be possible without you. Thank you to all the donors who have continued to help and support, every penny is helping students reach their dreams.

The North Central Texas College strives to provide high quality and accessible higher education to all who seek it. The College maintains affordable tuition and fees while the NCTC Foundation develops programs for financial support that impacts our students. Each year, the Foundation awards over 1,000 scholarships valued at over $1 million; however, each year the number of applicants far exceed the scholarships available. Hundreds of deserving individuals do not receive scholarship assistance annually.

NCTC and its students benefit from privately supported scholarships through the NCTC Foundation. Foundation scholarships help students attend college by assisting them financially. It also helps the College attract academically talented students through these scholarship offers. Please consider impacting a student’s future by making a gift of education. As a recent high school graduate with struggling parents, there were few options for me when it came to furthering my education. I had no financial literacy and was terrified of student loans.

With that being said, I am so fortunate to have received a scholarship from NCTC which allowed me to further my education and chase my dream of becoming an RN. am currently a sophomore who is planning to transfer to a university for my bachelor’s degree in nursing. Working full time, supporting myself, and paying for college on my own is extremely draining both physically and mentally. I cannot say thank you enough to the donors who helped. Without the scholarship I received, I wouldn’t have been able to afford my classes this semester.
