level 4 PHGCSE:4 FRAGMENTS
Level Details Level GCSE Level length 4 weeks Assessed out of 80 marks
Here i have taken 12 photos of my bike and fragmented it some photos are zoomed in and some are not this makes it interesting because it is not all perfectly in line. I have learnt how to take diffrent photos but arrange them to make it look like one photo this is hard because you cant see if you have taken them right and if they fit toghether well.
Exercise 4a Everyday objects
Exercise 4a Everyday objects Using the resources and environment around you take a sequence of photographs of a corner of a room with a model or an object on a table or chair. Vary the position of the camera and vary your position in relation to the content. Walk around the subject matter to take side angles. Explore zooming in on areas of the subject how does this affect the imagery? Describe what you have done and learnt from this exercise in your Learning Log. Present your photographs in your E-Sketchbook.
Exercise 4b Beyond the obvious I think the artist was trying to create/achieve a fragmented skull and it looks really good because they have done each peice of the skull perfectly in line. I think the link between the postcards and the skull is that somone is sending postcards to someone who is dead and cant see them. Another thing could be that its saying that we dont use letters or postcards anymore and they are dead because we have technology e.g phones. an interpretetation of this image could be taking pictures of a real skull and fragmenting it like exercise 4c.
Exercise 4b Beyond the obvious Fragments This artwork explores the theme of fragments. Describe what you think the artist was trying to achieve in this photograph? What is the link between the postcards and the skull? What could you do to create an interpretation of this idea? Present your findings along with the image in your e sketchbook.
Exercise 4c Exploring a subject Choose a room or hallway and explore it using a camera. Take photographs of parts of the environment and from different eye levels. Print the imagery off and arrange the work together using tape. Describe what you have done and learnt from this exercise in your Learning Log. Present your photographs in your E-Sketchbook. Include contact sheets and an evaluation.
I have fragmented my lounge like the given example as i thought that it looked interesting, i have also used white tape like the example to make it obvioubs that it is taped up and fragmented. By doing this task i have learned how to take photos and place them together to make one image this is a good skill because it allows you to take differnt photos and place them togehter. It took me lots of trys to get the photos the right size and i had to print out lots of copyies to test.
Exercise 4d Abstraction Create a sequence of photographs that explore an object or environment or model. Create contact sheets and arrange them like the example. Describe what you have done and learnt from this exercise in your Learning Log. Present your photographs in your E-Sketchbook. Include contact sheets and an evaluation.
Fragments Exercise 4f Photo fragments Take a photo of a a model or object, print the photos off and then replace into the original photo shoot. Explore composition and zoom. Describe what you have done and learnt from this exercise in your Learning Log. Present your photographs in your E-Sketchbook.
Fragmentsmentsnts Level 4 (‘C GRADE’) assesment objective 1 In this photograph i see trafic lights they are in the wrong order because the top two are both red but the middle one is lightened to look like amber. The transparency effect looks really cool on the middle photo. The words i would use to describe this photo are colour, traffic, cars, stop and transparency. In this photo i recognise the traffic lights in order and the things that seem new to me are the effects. In the photograph on the left i see a photo of someone in our class it has been edited more than the traffic lights photo and it works well. The tie was used from a diffrent photo as you can see the keyboard facing the wrong way i still think this looks cool. The face does not line up perfectly and that also looks interesting. I have learned how to put effects on using indesign to improve my photos.
Assesment Exercise 4a Everyday objects - A pair of shoes
Assesment In this assesment i chose exercise 4a everyday objects. I decided to take pictures of a pair of shoes as this is somethhing you might wear everyday. I have used bridge to edit eight of the sixteen photos this is because i think it works well with one line of black and white and then one line of colour. The reason i think it looks good is because one line of black and white and one line of colour is fragmenting different colours aswell as the fragmented pictures themselves. The things i could of done differently is try and focus on lighting because as i was uploading them i noticed shadows of my phone n some photos. I think other people would say that these fragmented images are interesting the reason behind this is because i have taken an everyday fairly boring object and made something fun too look at. I think the different lines of edited and non edited images would be something worth remembering because you could use it in your own work. It will also be easy to remember because it is simple but really effective as it looks interesting when it meets the eye. Today i created a fragmented image of an everyday object in this case it was shoes. I created it by taking a sequence of 16 photos and joint them together with boxes and later on edited them. I did this because it was the first thing we did in our level 4 fragments work and i really enjoyed it. It links to the theme of fragments because it was in the scheme of work and its also lots of diffrent fragmented photos joined together therefore it could be called different fragments.
