Despite the rainy morning May 21, members of Fort Detrick leadership and guests from Frederick County gathered for the ribbon cutting of Nallin Farm Gate and the Consolidated Logistics Facility. U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command and Fort Detrick Commander Maj. Gen. Brian C. Lein gave opening remarks during the ceremony, which highlighted the importance of the new gate as well as the partnership with the community of Frederick. “This building wouldn’t be possible without the city of Frederick,” said Lein. “If we need to increase our force protection we won’t have to back up streets since the new gate will support a 200 car queue.
