Villa Analysis: Schminke House

Bedroom Rrestroom Leisure Kitchen/Pantry Schminke House was designed by architect hans scharoun in 1933, located in germany. The goal by studying this villa was to learn how the architect organized the house and to show this through diagrams of the house.

The goal of the urban analysis was to learn effective diagraming methods of a city. We used the site of downtown buffalo as the basis for our diagraming. We looked at building typology, population density, specfic gathering sections of the city, store hours in relation to location plus various other important elements of a city. One thing that was importatant to learn was the ability to diagram mulptlie ideas on one page clearly, using different methods.





Rolex Learning Center

I chose these two precendents to look at as guidance when creating my Library. I specifically used the Delft University Library's method of the green roof. I also looked at the Rolex learning center for its Free plan and the way in which it creates different views to the mountaints on one floor.


  



Concepts Program + Circulation 







 These were some of the key concepts i wanted to explore with my library building. The key concept i was exploring was the expierence and circulation of space horizontally rather then a vertical circulation.



 
