Gelbvieh and Balancer® Enthusiasts, Each year Gelbvieh and Balancer® cattle are on display during the national Gelbvieh and Balancer show and sale. Breeders travel from across the country to exhibit their cattle, which will be in the spotlight at the Cattlemen’s Congress December 31, 2023 through January 2, 2024. During this week, several events are held to showcase the breed which include Gelbvieh and Balancer futurities, the National Gelbvieh and Balancer Show, and of course the National Gelbvieh and Balancer Sale. Within the sale, breeders will find genetics they can put to work in their respective herds to positively influence their operations well into the future. In addition, the junior members, who are the future leaders of our breed, play a role at these events with their junior heifer show as well as their annual heifer raffle ticket fundraiser. The winner of this year’s heifer will be announced during the national sale. Further details about this fundraiser can be found within this catalog. Thank you to Warner Beef Genetics for donating the heifer this year. On behalf of the American Gelbvieh Association board of directors and staff, we invite you to join us at the National Gelbvieh and Balancer Sale and set the tone for a new year and the 2024 spring sale season. Sincerely, Megan Slater, Executive Director American Gelbvieh Association

• Rugged, stout, bold-ribbed, & big-footed are just a few adjectives that top producers have used to describe our 2024 nominee. King’s Ransom 250K is a massive, mature-patterned, cattlemen’s-kind-of-bull; the type that can work in many different environments and programs. 250K embodies what the ProHart program has been selecting for generations; cattle with excellent calving ease and birth EPDs, that also deliver growth traits. King’s Ransom ratioed 110 for weaning and 107 for yearling and excels in the breed’s maternal trait values. Top ranking EPDs: CED 3%, BW 30%, WW 25%, YW 15%, MK 15%, TM 20%, CEM 1%, DOC 25%, FPI 25%.. He backs these EPDs with actual performance: 82# BW, 758# WW, and 1318# YW. 250K maintains all that performance in a moderate, sound package. He is homo-black and homopolled. King’s Ransom has been successfully collected and 100 units will be included with the sale. ProHart will retain 50% semen interest. • BW: 82; Adj. WW: 758; Adj. YW: 1318

• BRAX MR Kevlar K185 made lots of fans at his first outing in 2023 at Cattlemen’s Congress straight off the cow. He came home and went right back in with the spring bulls on grass with limited supplement. He was again appreciated by many at Junior Nationals this summer in South Dakota and was named Champion Gelbvieh Bull. His only other outing was the Tulsa State Fair where he was named Champion Gelbvieh Bull once again. We love this bull for his practicality, smooth shoulder, rib and center body dimension, foot and hip! • His mother, BRAX Delilah was admired by many during her show career and is still a favorite of many that go through the cow herd. Delilah, a paternal sister of Dottie whose flush is featured in this offing as lot 16A, was Reserve Champion Bred & Owned Heifer at 2017 Jr Nationals, and Grand Champion Gelbvieh/Balancer Heifer 2018 OYE and Champion AOB at the highly competitive NE Oklahoma District Show. • Come by the stalls and check him out! • Selling 2/3 semen interest and 1/2 Possession. • Here’s a homo black homo polled 3/4 blood that comes from of one of the best cows currently walking the pastures of Bar Arrow Cattle Company. The word that comes to mind for this bull is “Balance.” • He’s one that’s built square from the ground up with extra flex in his lower joints. Smooth and angular about his front end, well balanced center portion and a long stout hip with plenty of muscle all along the way. Top that off with a big set of testicles and clean sheath he checks an awful lot of boxes phenotypically. • His numbers combine top 25% for CED and WW as well as above average numbers across several maternal and carcass traits. • He’s been developed like a production bull with longevity as the priority so bid confidently with that in mind. • BW: 77; Adj. • TJB Gelbvieh is offering the most impressive female ever produced in their 35 years of breeding Gelbvieh cattle. In the words of a past mentor, “Dr., if I was a sculptor and had another handful of clay looking at this cow, I would just have to throw it down!”. She is the culmination of six generations of donor females at TJB Gelbvieh tracing back to 61Y, better known as the dam of SLC Freedom 178F. • This female is a daughter of 579C who has become the highest revenue producing female in the herd. We sold a full brother to 954G, TJB Acuna 214K in the 2022 bull sale to Warner Beef Genetics for $9000. 954G’s granddam is 921U, the dam of Rebel Yell, as well as the dam of many donors still working in TJB’s donor program. Her great granddam, Anissa 337M, currently traces back to over 75% of the females in the program. Anissa has certainly been the workhorse for TJB Gelbvieh. • This is truly a lifetime opportunity. We have been breeding Gelbvieh cattle for over 35 years and this kind of female is rare. We invite you to embark on an exciting journey. She calved in August and has an outstanding Front Runner heifer calf by her side today. She will also demand your attention. • Offering 50% embryo interest with the option to double the bid and own 100%. If 50% is purchased, she will stay at TJB Gelbvieh under our donor management. Natural calves will belong to TJB Gelbvieh. If buyer chooses to purchase the female in her entirety, TJB Gelbvieh reserves the right to two conventional flushes. Her first three conventional flushes produced 5, 30, and 20 viable embryos!!

• Sells open. • Here is an exciting opportunity to own the first female to be sold out of the 2023 National Champion Gelbvieh Bull, HTFG Hilltops Hawkeye H064. Lainey is an 87% Gelbvieh heifer that is built for the pasture as she has cow power written all over her. This potentially homo black/homo polled heifer (DNA Pending) is stout made, square built and super smooth through her front end. If you have a young showman, Lainey is kid broke and extremely gentle. When looking at her EPD profile you will be quick to notice that she is in the top 10% of the breed for BW and 15% for CED, which allows you to mate her to several high percentage bulls to create the next purebred generation. Take advantage here in this young female as her best days are in your donor pen! Selling full possession and full embryo interest with seller retaining the right to two successful flushes at buyers’ convenience. • Ranks in the top 4% for BW, top 10% for CED and CEM, top 20% for PG30 and FPI, and top 25% for ST. • BW: 66; Adj. • Sells open • Wow! What an exciting young female to offer in the National Sale. HTFB Hilltops Loretta L351 is a prime example of the kind of progeny we are getting out of the 2019 National Champion Gelbvieh Bull, HTFM Mr. Equalizer E711. Loretta stims from a very strong cow family as she traces clear back to the 2012 National Champion Bred and Owned Female HTFB Ms. Candy Y803. Loretta is a jet necked, long extended female that has a phenomenal profile that can be shown either way, but man will she turn some heads in the Gelbvieh show. This potentially Homo Black/Homo Polled (DNA pending) female is the first to leave Hilltop Farms out of the extremely powerful Candy cow family. Ton of future in this young female in the show ring as well as being a top end donor in any program. Selling full possession and full embryo interest with seller retaining the right to two successful flushes at buyers’ convenience. • Ranks in the top 2% for REA, top 3% for CW and ST, top 10% for HP and $Cow, top 15% for WW, and top 25% for YW. • BW: 68; Adj. This female maintains structural integrity on a large foot and a stride that matches footprint to footprint ands combines into a picture that is the definition of femininity. If you are wanting to stack the odds in your favor whether in the show ring, pasture or as a donor, Lolly is your best bet. • Sells open. • Here’s one I really should hold on to. KARR Quinn L96H is the embodiment of the idea that sold for $6,000 as Lot 13B in the inaugural Gelbvieh On Ice Sale. Wow how those two cattle crossed here! Big footed, stretchy and flexible as a gymnast. This heifer gets out and tracks like a big money pony. Read her pieces here and she screams future donor. Great through her fore-rib, deep flanked, and buddy you can get excited about the way she carries her width wide and true across her hip through her pins. This one backs all her good parts up with an elite set of numbers that land her in the top 25% or better for five traits. She’s coming to you as honest as they come. We jerked her out of the replacement pen the day before Christmas to clean her up for pictures and a video. No shine on this one, she is what she is. A super good built 9-month-old heifer with a HUUUUGE future ahead of her. Yeah, she’ll be green in the catalog, but just like the goofy kid you messed with in school; this one is going to come into her body like a model. Don’t pass on her because of her maturity state, you’ll regret it if you meet her out in a year. Transportation to be arranged at owner’s expense and seller’s convenience. As a calf she was picked 4th overall at Jr.Nationals. As a bred heifer her highlights include winning the Western Regional, MO State Fair Junior show, Iowa State Fair Open and Junior shows. Most recently on her only outing since calving, she won NAILE in Louisville. We feel she is going to be an incredible breeding piece. • Ranks in the top 10% for WW, YW, TM, DOC, CW, REA; top 20% for EPI • BW: 75; Adj. WW: 641

• Red, Homo Polled Diluter free 75% Gelbvieh. When Jason Hightower sent me a video on Emma as a calf we knew we needed her in the donor pen. We could write a book on Emma, her progeny, her dam Berry Crush and the many siblings that were sale toppers and national winners. Emma is a many-time Champion, Ring of Gold Champion, Jr National Champion, Producer of National Champions and Ring of Gold Winners and contenders including Empire, Nikki, Butch, Sundance and the Saterra heifer that sold on last years National Sale. Most recently her daughter Emeryn, who will be in our OKC string has had a great year winning Tulsa, Reserve at Iowa, and division winner at MO and NAILE making her one of the top contenders to win the Ring of Gold. Her $25,000 ET son Slow Burn topped the Boys From the South sale for Green Hills Gelbvieh this fall. Also stop by our stalls at OKC to see our Cow Town x Emma flushmates, they are stellar! • BW: 74; Adj. WW: 682 2024

• T/R Empress 111J ET “Gina”, is a full sib to MDR Empress 908G ET and MDR First Round Pick 9824G ET. This duo of sisters are big time donors and we think these two sires are just the bulls to help make great higher % cattle! Beautiful females with the desired look for the ring, but the production fundamentals to be great (where it matters) in the pasture! • 111J is one incredible individual! She is a bigger, more attractive version of her older sister. She is the longer fronted female that carries herself with more elegance and extension on the profile. Yet, she still sets down on a stouter foot and hind leg. This will be the first time we offer embryos on the very popular 2022 Junior Nationals Champion and 2023 Reserve National Champion Balancer Cattlemen’s Congress! • The impressive show career of MDR T/R EMPRESS 111J includes being named: 2023 Cattlemen’s Congress Reserve National Champion Female in the Open Show and Division Champion in the Junior Show; 2022 Cattlemen’s Congress Division II Calf Champion in the Junior Show; Division II Calf Champion in the Open Show; and the 2022 American Gelbvieh Junior National Champion Balancer Female. • 1046Y began her donor career at Beastrom Ranch where she was successfully flushed and raised several sale highlights. During her time at Beastrom’s she was noted as their most angular and attractive donor and complimented for her excellent feet and legs producing bulls that have excelled in the mountain country and females that are attractive, easy fleshing, and athletic. We took the opportunity to purchase 1046Y from Jim at his dispersal sale in 2021. With her credibility and being a direct offspring of the foundation female, Hepburn 113TET, it made this selection a no-brainer. The female backing this mating is not the only advantage of these genetics. • This is one of few opportunities to invest in embryos of CTR Black Ink. Since his debut as the high selling bull at Cedar Tops 2021 Maternal Empire bull sale, semen has not been released for public purchase and very few straws have been offered on semen sale fundraisers. Black Ink is highly regarded for his stunning front 1/3, barrel middle and muscle design. We believe this combination is one that no matter what your focus is these offspring will excel in the showring, pasture, or production sale!

Dear Gelbvieh Friends and Cattlemen: On behalf of the American Gelbvieh Association and breeders, welcome to the 2024 Gelbvieh and Balancer National Sale, held again in conjunction with Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City. I am especially excited about this year’s offering. In my opinion, this is the deepest and most impressive offering we have had since my involvement with this sale. The 2024 offering consists of an outstanding set of herd sire prospects, including the soon to be named Futurity Champion, an amazing proven donor, elite show and donor prospects, as well as herd picks, choice flushes, embryos and semen lots that are backed by the most popular genetics in the Gelbvieh and Balancer realms. The genomically-enhanced EPD profiles of this offering are as impressive as their phenotype. The breeders involved are sharing their very best this year, so please take time to evaluate this special offering. This sale is intended to provide a marketing outlet for the membership of the American Gelbvieh Association during the world’s largest cattle show, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase the breed in what has become the industry’s premier event. I would like to again extend my sincere thanks to Tom Strahm and the staff at AGA for their assistance in the preparation for this sale, and the staff and board of directors of Cattlemen’s Congress for their continued improvements to the venue and facility and for allowing us to again hold this annual event at this great location. It is my pleasure to continue working Gelbvieh breeders while coordinating this sale, and I am very pleased, as I know you will be, with the offering assembled for New Year’s Day 2024. If you have any questions or if I may be of assistance prior to or at sale time, please give me a call. Sincerely, Matt C. Sims
