I look forward to seeing where your paths take you a er your years spent in the teal jacket. Know that just because we will not see each other across the board room this fall, I am still your biggest advocate and cheerleader. For the newest members of our team, I hope you recognize the honor that has been bestowed upon you by your peers. You have earned an opportunity many only dream of, and others before you have worked tirelessly to serve. Please do not take the next two years for granted—they will go fast.

To the membership, I stand beside you. I vow to continue making this event and your experience with us one you talk about for years to come. I will continue to work for the members and families of the AGJA to ensure we uphold the mission and traditions of the Gelbvieh breed and the AGJA. We will continue to build strong leaders and advocates of the beef industry with each passing year. You have a faithful and humble team working diligently for you. rough everything you encountered in preparation for this year, and in the hopes of attending the 2022 AGJA Crossroads Classic in Kansas, remember one thing: be where your feet are. Focus on the task at hand and remember why you do this and the silent supporters you have across the country wishing you nothing but the best in all you do. F

Honorary Friend of the AGJA

For the sixth consecutive year, a special award was presented to a supporter of the American Gelbvieh Junior Association (AGJA) who had a tremendous impact on the association and its members. This year Emily Griffiths, Kendallville, Indiana, was recognized as an Honorary Friend of the AGJA at the 2021 AGJA Southern Hospitality Classic awards banquet, which was held on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Batesville, Mississippi.

Emily has served as a supporter of the AGJA in many ways over the years, including serving as an advisor for the AGJA board of directors, mentor to many and role model of what it means to educate others about the Gelbvieh breed. e AGJA would like to thank Emily for her continued supported of the AGJA. Convention Registration Open

Registration for the AGA National Convention and 50th Anniversary Celebration is now open on Gelbvieh.org. is year’s convention will be held December 8-10, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Plan to register before November 1 for early registration pricing.

Nomination applications for both Hall of Fame and Breeder of the Year are available on the National Convention page under the Membership tab on Gelbvieh.org. Applications are due August 31, 2021, and can be mailed to the AGA o ce or emailed to info@ gelbvieh.org. Awards will be presented to the selected recipients during the awards banquet at the AGA National Convention and 50th Anniversary Celebration December 8-10, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
