Welcome to our 9th Annual Complete Performance Bull Sale! It’s nice to get paid for all your hard work! Cattlemen have seen record prices for all classes of cattle, from feeders to fats to bred females. Common sense says favorable prices should continue for quite some time while the nation tries to rebuild cow numbers. We have a new sale date--Tuesday, February 3rd ! Also, DV Auction will broadcast the sale live on the internet. All bull videos can be viewed at dvauction.com. We are very excited and very proud of this group of Bulls. Our breeding program’s 40 plus years of A.I. and E.T. work shows in this offering. As always all Bulls are guaranteed, come with EPD’s, weights, measurements, ultrasound, DNA, and will be fed and cared for free until April 1. Lemke Bulls are bred and fed for the commercial cow man. Guarantee: Buyers of all bulls, selling for $3,000 or more, injured the first breeding season will

have credit at the next sale at the value of the purchase price minus salvage value. Contact Lemke Cattle promptly in this event. The breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following first turnout of a bull. Guarantee applies to bulls in single bull breeding pastures only. Health: All bulls are on a complete health program. Vaccinated with IBR, BVD Type I and II, P13, BRSV, Pasturella, 7-way, Haemophilus, wormed and poured. All bulls have tested negative BVD. Fertility Tested: All bulls will have passed a fertility test and examination by Stephen Russell DVM. Feeding: The bulls are fed a high roughage growing ration so they develop, not get fat. Customer feedback has been that the bulls are holding up very well. Delivery: Free delivery of bulls in Nebraska and Northern Kansas, or meet at central locations. Transportation of females is the responsibility of the buyer and must be within one week of the sale. We’ll be happy to assist with transportation and females will be fed and cared for until picked up. Free Care: Bulls will be fed and cared for at purchaser’s risk until April 1st. Bulls may be fed after April 1st at the cost of $4.00 per head per day. Any bulls picked up within 3 days of sale will have $100 deducted from purchase price. Lunch: A beef meal will be provided sale day. Announcements: Any announcements made sale day will take precedence over any information printed in the catalog. A WORD ABOUT OUR BREEDING PROGRAM We’re often asked about our program and the breeds we raise. We breed more by phenotype, genotype and balance than specific breed composition, matching each female with sires to produce heavy muscled, thick cattle with body depth, capacity and structural correctness. We breed to balance and excel in as many traits as possible. Females must be easy fleshing and moderate framed with the ability to produce high performing calves and rebreed under commercial management conditions, without the aid of creep fed calves. We run Registered herds of Red Angus, Angus and Balancer Females. The commercial herd is predominantly 3/4 Red Angus and 1/4 Gelbvieh or Simmental. Both are run together and managed the same. Red Angus and Black Angus for their great maternal and carcass traits and industry wide acceptance and marketability. We also believe in the huge advantages that crossbreeding and hybrid vigor bring to the commercial cattle industry. We use Gelbvieh and Simmental which are considered the strongest maternal of the continentals, and both cross extremely well with Red and Black Angus. Our commercial Balancer and Simangus calves perform virtually the same in growth, performance and carcass. So why do we lean more toward the Balancers? 1. “FERTILITY” We’ve raised them both and have for many years. Balancer females breed early and stay bred. If we have open cows in the Fall, it’s very seldom a Balancer. 2. “BABY CALF VIGOR” Balancer or Gelbvieh calves have tremendous vigor and will to live at birth, just like Red and Black Angus. We calve lots of females in the cold of January and February. Calves that are vigorous and nurse early survive and thrive. We don’t have time, or patience to get slow or dumb calves to nurse. 20
