ALEXANDRE J. ECLETTICO FRENCH ARTIST, PAINTER, SCULPTOR AND SINCE 2012 CREATOR OF A LUXURIOUS FRAGRANCE COLLECTION… HOW WAS THE BRAND BORN?
It all began as an idea. Alexandre.J being a citizen of the world, makes the brand essentially inspired by different cultures, lifestyle, architecture, historical movements, and more. The Brand initially and strategically entered the Dubai Duty-Free. This allowed us to ‘test the waters’ bearing in mind that niche perfumery back then was gradually making its way into the middle east and at the same time, our presence in travel retail gave us the privilege of exposure as globe trotters shop around for gifts or are simply trying to pass the time while waiting to board. Needless to say, the positive response we established opened a lot of doors for the Brand having partnered with renowned department stores such as Bloomingdale’s Harvey Nichols, Debenhams, and even got us a sweet spot in the tallest building in the world in collaboration with Atmosphere Burj Khalifa… and the rest is history.

The idea is to go back to the perfume industry as it was decades ago when bottles had a premium place in people’s home. We highlight a three-stage experience: visual, olfactive, & touch. It’s the kind of experience that may be likened to a delectablypresented food that makes you feel like you want to try it. It is worth mentioning that travel opens up the mind. It’s about meeting new people and welcoming new culture, seeing a different vision of mind. Whenever you arrive at a new country, there’s always a different scent because of the food, the air, the people, and a lot of other factors, so traveling directly impacts Alexandre.J’s inspiration and passion because the world is full of varied concepts. Moreover, the art differs according to the country. The challenge remains as to how these differences may be interpreted into a perfume bottle. Additionally, a lot of the story telling reflects on the packaging, it inspires the notion of gift-giving whether for yourself or for others.
