Sponsorship Opportunities
The Association of Fundraising Professionals Colorado Chapter is a membership organization that advances philanthropy in our region by creating opportunities for fundraising professionals to network, grow professionally, and advance our field.
Welcoming over 250 members in our region, from every nonprofit sector, the AFP Colorado Chapter embraces diversity, equity and inclusion. We are honored to stand with our colleagues and those in the community fighting systemic injustice, and we are committed to doing our part to listen, learn, and advance equality for all. AFP programming and membership, especially during difficult times, allows Fundraisers to continue learning and growing, which in turn positively impacts the missions of so many nonprofits in our communities. When we bring together fundraising professionals across Colorado, we stay focused on purpose and possibilities.

Mentoring Program The AFP Colorado Chapter realizes the importance of developing and maintaining strong fundraising professionals for the continued success of the nonprofit sector. The six-month mentoring program is offered as a benefit of membership and engages new or early-career professionals, as mentees, by providing a transfer of knowledge and professional development through a structured relationship with an experienced professional mentor. The mentoring program intends to incorporate AFP Colorado Chapter efforts to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all AFP members who identify as diverse voices and segments, including potential mentees and mentors.
Mentoring Program Sponsorship Only 1 more available

Sponsors have the opportunity to extend the benefits of the mentoring program by underwriting the cost for engaged mentees to attend educational sessions and our fall conference, Rocky Mountain Philanthropy Institute (RMPI). Each sponsorship will cover the cost for two mentees to attend both an education session and RMPI. This opportunity will only be provided to mentees who are already engaged in other AFP programs, and by these efforts, show they intend to make the most of their membership.

Coffee Chat Coffee Chat is an informal gathering for nonprofit fundraising professionals. Anyone with fundraising duties in their job description, or an interest in breaking into the field on nonprofit fundraising, is welcome to attend. Coffee Chat is free to attend, and AFP membership is not required. We welcomed 228 attendees in 2019, and 275 in 2020. Held the second Thursday of every month, there are two common formats for Coffee Chat. One format features a speaker who briefly presents on a topic of interest to those in attendance, and then engages them in conversation regarding what was learned. The second format is an organic conversation about fundraising best practices. Fundraising professionals share what is on their mind and get input from the group on current roadblocks or struggles. Rocky Mountain Philanthropy Institute Rocky Mountain Philanthropy Institute (RMPI) is AFP Colorado Chapter’s annual fall conference dedicated to bringing Colorado Fundraising Professionals and nonprofit leaders and learners together to grow, network, and rejuvenate. We sold out registration with 130 attendees in 2019 and welcomed 160 participants virtually in 2020. Building upon the success of last year’s virtual conference, RMPI 2021 will feature a hybrid model, including real-time presentations over the internet and, should circumstances allow, intimate regional gatherings for in-person networking. RMPI 2021 will kick off with an actionpacked afternoon on Thursday, September 9th, leading up to the main events on Friday, September 10th. A small sampling of the featured programming will include: • Fireside chat with keynote speaker, Edgar Villanueva, the globally recognized racial justice activist, philanthropist, and author of “Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance.” • Featured talk by Nadia Hallgren, storyteller and Director of the Emmy-nominated documentary Becoming and the short documentary After Maria • Multiple educational and engaging speaker sessions of your choice • Networking opportunities from across the state
This year’s conference, “Purpose and Possibility” will provide nonprofit professionals the opportunity to brush up on fundraising skills, network, and set intentions for a post-pandemic era where a world of possibility lies ahead. We believe our industry has the opportunity to lead the charge in embracing change and setting a purposeful and inclusive path forward. As a sponsor, you will be able to support the professional development of front-line Fundraisers – the people who make our region’s nonprofits tick. We will promote your brand presence to nonprofit decision makers from Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region. And you will have the opportunity to build new relationships with fundraisers through small-group interactions.

National Philanthropy Day For more than 30 years, National Philanthropy Day (NPD) has recognized the important work of Colorado’s giving community, highlighting outstanding individuals and organizations from communities throughout our state. Gathering together to celebrate philanthropy, whether virtually or in-person, never fails to inspire and rejuvenate the nonprofit community in Colorado. We have the opportunity to learn how individuals, organizations and businesses across Colorado are creating a kinder, more sustainable and just world. We connect with other change makers who care about philanthropy and our vibrant nonprofit sector. And we celebrate award winners and honorees, and the difference philanthropy makes in Colorado and the world. The event typically sells out at 800 attendees, and we gathered 404 virtually in 2020. In 2021, we look forward to gathering together in whatever way is determined to be safe this fall. We remain committed to providing a way for communities around our state to participate in the celebration virtually. While we don’t yet know the specifics of how the event will look, we anticipate more clarity sometime this summer. Our sponsors can be confident that supporting NPD will lead to meaningful recognition among the Colorado nonprofit community and we invite you to support and celebrate those who uplift philanthropy around our state.
