Today, we’ll reset, rethink and reimagine how we fundraise and embrace the new opportunities that lie ahead of us. We have a packed agenda with speakers to provide motivation and leave us all energized to impact change. We are excited to hear from our keynote speaker, LaDawn M. Sullivan, honored as an Outstanding Professional Grantmaker in Colorado at the 2021 National Philanthropy Day event. Her passion, experience, and wisdom will leave listeners inspired and eager to work together to strengthen our nonprofit sector. Following LaDawn, we have break-out sessions and an interactive lunch session with Andrea Pacheco to consider how we can better center our community in our fundraising work. After a few more break-out sessions, we gather again for a happy hour celebration and a chance to get to know one to the RMPI planning committee, DeAnn, Lily, Chelley, Cheryl, Michelle, Raffael, and Sarah as well as the sponsors and speakers, who made RMPI 2022 with fellow nonprofit professionals and use today as an opportunity to network and grow. We look forward to hearing from you as the tradition of RMPI lives on.
Colleagues and Friends, Welcome to the 2022 Rocky Mountain Philanthropy Institute (RMPI) hosted by the AFP Colorado Chapter. We are thrilled to be back in person this year and cannot wait to meet so many of you. Through the pandemic, development professionals across the state have had to rethink and reset perspectives and reimagine traditional ways of doing our work to adjust to a new, ever-evolving normal.

Founded in 2018 by a group of Black Indigenous People Of Color (BIPOC) fundraisers, the goal of the Community-Centric Fundraising (CCF) movement is to support fundraisers and other nonprofit professionals in re-examining fundraising philosophy and practices they have been taught, engaging in vigorous ongoing conversations, and exploring fundraising methods that reduce harm and further social justice. The objective of this session is to introduce key concepts of the CCF approach, present tangible, CCF-aligned donor communication strategies, and spark thoughtful conversation. In this session, we will explore key criticisms of a donor-centric fundraising approach and offer strategies for introducing these concepts to your organization, donors, and stakeholders.
