A Wasp in a Wig – Branding Process

A Wasp in a Wig – Branding Process and Logo Image OUIL502 Personal and Professional Practice

First I drew out some initial designs and decided on this one as I wanted to include a look somewhere between Alice in Wonderland and myself. I wanted the audience to be able to recognise me in the image so that they didn’t forget who I was. I also had to include wasps as part of A Wasp in a Wig. I think these spice up the image a bit too. I also needed to include illustration imagery so I put a bejewelled pencil in too. I wanted to give off an air of confidence in my craft… so I turned myself into a queen. I used the costumes like Queen Elizabeth to ensure I gave off the impression of power! I also included my cat as I am a secret crazy cat lady.

I then used Adobe Photoshop to paint and edit this initial image to the digital version that I had in mind. I created both RGB and CMYK so that I could use the image both digitally online and printed. Overall I am really happy with it as I spent a long time trying to perfect it and I don’t think there’s much more that I could do on this particular image apart from neaten up some shadows/outlines etc. I would like to expand on it by making different scenes and background patterns etc.
