Despite a passion for following down the Healthy Lifestyle topic, I decided to push myself towards a more unexplored topic. I chose lad culture as it is completely entwined in our society in Britain today, leaving huge impacts on all aspects of society from a large political scale to personal intimate relationships. I looked at a lot of media to begin with, it was easier to begin the topic slightly more distanced, so I looked at programmes such as Geordie Shore and the Inbetweeners; known for their lad culture.
To the left is one sketch looking at the huge element of fighting and competition in lad culture; they are not actually fighting- it feels more like they are just putting it on for show. I wanted to convey this element of battle and intimidation by exaggerating the height of their quiffs; a typical lad hair style; one of their weapons! I drew the heart in between them to show all they really want is love and understanding. ď Š
