Casey Eco Head Office design which is six per cent better than the required green standards for a naturally ventilated building. The low-energy potential of the building is the result of a 'passive' building design combined with energy efficient building systems and services. There is a sedum planted roof which will help save heat in the winter, keep the building cool in the summer, and look in sympathy with the surrounding countryside.

Staff at Casey were delighted to move into their new "deep green" office block at head office in Rochdale. Designs by Taylor Young for the new lowenergy building were approved by Rochdale planners in 2009. The building of a pair of two storey linked office blocks took 12 months, while staff continued to work in the original premises on what is now the carpark. Sustainability has been central to this new

Simon Ramsden, Divisional Director at Hilson Moran in Manchester, the M & E consultants for the project, said, "The analysis and assessment work undertaken by our design teams has played a key role in achieving a building with the potential to significantly cut carbon emissions in use. At the same time, the building services strategy has been successful in delivering the required balance between comfort requirements, fuel cost and plant space."

Casey Win RoSPA Gold Award The Casey Group Ltd has won a Gold award in the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2011. This is the third consecutive Gold Award for the Casey Group Ltd. The Gold award will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 2011. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a safety charity, launched its awards programme 55 years ago. Staff say, "This is a great step up for Casey employees. There is so much more space and it's a much friendlier environment to work in!"

Working Well Together Over the past 12 months we have been holding a series of On the Job Employee Meetings, asking how we can make things better. It was unfortunate that not everyone could attend but there will be opportunities for others to attend future meetings.

We would like to thank everyone for their valuable time and contribution during our Employee Engagement Meetings and if you would like to attend a future meeting or have an idea you think worth sharing please contact your line manager or Debbie Hubbard.

All your ideas have been considered and we are currently adopting many of the suggestions made, which have been confirmed in Feedback provided over the last few months.

In the meantime and on behalf of the Directors we would like to thank everyone for their ongoing efforts and valuable contribution to the security and success of the Company.
