COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
A retired teacher, Janice helped to organise games with the children. One lasting achievement was she helped Janet, one of the older girls, organise the lending out of books from the Suubi library to the other children. This gives easier access to the books whilst ensuring they are used with care .
During the school holidays the children rehearsed their singing and dancing. They then performed in front of the community as part of the Parish day.
WALL PAINTING
Here is Janice with Zubeda, the head housemother, who takes care of our visitors.
During our last visit Paula, our daughter and her American friend M a d e l e i n e painted this magnificent scene onto one boundary wall at Suubi. A number of the children were able to help fill in the colours. Holiday fun with a lasting legacy.
TOP OF HER CLASS Christine achieved something special. She came top of her class of 52 Children. Christine is convinced that having school text books for home study helped her.
JANICE VISITED Janice Jones visited Suubi for 4 weeks earlier this year.

TEA PARTY & OPEN DAY

We are holding an open afternoon on Saturday 17th September from 2pm at Corinya 2 Fox Hill Road Rochdale OL11 2XN. Just drop in and see the short Suubi DVD and our latest photos. Tea will be served throughout the afternoon.
This edition we would like to thank all those people who give regularly.
The plan had been that you would be able to meet Esther, the Administrator, however her visa was refused.
Together these donations add up to thousands of pounds. That over 100 of you have signed Gift Aid forms says so much. And a special thank you to Hollingworth High Milnrow for their sponsorship of a child. It is especially helpful to receive regular secure income by standing order to meet daily needs.
We will be introducing our 2012 London Marathon runner Bernard Cassidy. Bernard is the site manager at Holy Family R C Primary school. He is a keen runner and has kindly said he will run to raise funds for Suubi. He and we need you to help with sponsorship.

Secondary Schools and Sponsor a Child

We now have 3 children at Secondary School. 2 of these children are likely to pass the exams for going to University in due course.
We are always grateful for all donations. Please remember us if you wish to mark a special occasion such as a birthday or an anniversary. We can provide some really good looking certificates acknowledging a special gift.
These children need sponsors who are willing to guarantee their costs all the way through to final qualification.
This is about spending differently not more.
