4 progressive academic focuses over 3 years
A 3-year program split between Creative Design and Technical Design: the first focuses on the creative conception of a fashion product, while the second translates this concept into garment construction via flat pattern-making or draping.
Core courses enrich the curriculum by offering a solid basis in fashion culture, a mastery of digital design tools and familiarization of the fashion market and its various sectors.
It is the combination of all these disciplines that sets ESMOD methodology apart, providing our graduates a complete breadth of knowledge and skill set, both technically and artistically, to help them break into the job market.

Career Development
In the first year, students can do voluntary internships during school holidays. However, in the second year, a mandatory 5-week internship included in the curriculum allows students to gain a significant amount of professional experience and to apply the knowledge they have acquired during their course of studies. In the third and final year, students complete 3 to 6 month internships within a fashion-related brand. This experience is assessed in the form of an internship report, which is the final step of the curriculum.
In addition we offer courses taught by recruitment professionals, who introduce the various business structures, fashion professions and their definitions, the different organizational charts of companies according to sector, the best strategies to adopt to find a first internship or first job, etc. Personalized advice, combined with CV-writing tutorials and more, ensure our students submit a bulletproof application!

In the second year, students can choose to specialize in 3D design tools. This course focuses on developing collections and universes created with essential digital design tools such as CLO 3D, BLENDER, MAYA, DAZ3D, etc. without neglecting the technical aspect of "physical" pattern-making classes to better understand volumes and the construction of garments in 3D.
Students go on to choose one of the 3rd year specializations, an at the end of that year, they will have the opportunity to present a complete virtual collection project.

In the second year, students can choose to perfect their knowledge of computeraided pattern making (CAP), specifically thanks to the possibilities offered by LECTRA: Modaris Expert Pro. This option allows students to focus on the technical aspect of product development in the same way many fashion companies do.
In the third year, students can obtain a LECTRA MODARIS 2D and/or 3D certificate, which is a true asset to their CV.
Eco-Design
in Paris - Regional modules
Students can choose to develop their collection designs in an ecologically responsible way. We continue to adapt our teaching methods to accommodate the most environmentally-friendly design and manufacture strategies being invented: zero waste pattern making, upcycling techniques, eco-ethical sourcing, reflection on CSR values of a brand, etc.
In the third year, students can propose a concept for an ecologically responsible collection in any one of the specializations available. This approach can help set these students apart, in an industry that continues to emphasize eco-responsibility and recruit accordingly.
