I n d u s t r i a l D e s i g n This multi-purpose coffee table, book shelf, and chair was made out of one 4’x8’ sheet of plywood. All the joints are held together by friction and interlocking parts which allows this piece to be taken apart and stored inside of a large suitcase for easy transportation. The design challange was to not let your limit supply limit your ideas.

H i d d e n R o o m The purpose of this project was to create a hidden room out of the other four rooms. The concept behind the hidden room is that the room is hidden so simply within the complexity. The faceted exterior allows the hidden room to be hidden in plain sight. The room is located in the space created by the stepping up of the other rooms. The interior creates a big contrast from the exterior by appearing simple. Floor Plan Level 1

The assignment was to desing a sustainable fire station in South Padre, Texas. I apporoached this with the idea of separation of function and also availability to the public. I wanted to keep the different aspects of the fire station, such as administration and fireman, separate while also making the community feel welcomed in and safe. South Padre is a small island full of free spirited close people and the fire station to reflect that.

A d u r o S p e s D i a l y s i s Design Partner: Colleen Crottie The assignment was to create a dialysis clinic where renal disease patients would get treatment three days a week. We focused on how to make their treatment as calming and comfortable as possible. The goal was to create a home-like feeling while maintaining the necessities of a healthcare facility. The patients would enjoy their surroundings while still feeling safe and with privacy.

C a s a d e l P a r c Design Partner: Melina Cedillo The purpose of this project is to enhance and promote cultural diversity through education. We created an accessible space for all students in the area, stimulating opportunities to educate the community about different cultures and enhancing existing spaces for educational activities. An overhead path creates a roof over the three classrooms, ten markets and the exhibit space. The skin of the modules adjusts according to usage. It allows full control of the openness in order to interact with its surroundings.

Design Process The site is a four block square in the exiample located in Barcelona, Spain. The driving idea is to integrally connect the existing outdoor spaces with the created initeriors withoust castly disrupting the site. The volumetric concept of ‘Casa Del Parc’ is influenced by three different spaces where the existing vegetation fluctuates. After establishing three different regions with in the park, we layed out our program and developed connections between the built and open space.

M e m o r i a l C e n t e r Design Partner: Melina Cedillo The assignment was to combine the Brazos Valley Visitors Center, Memorial Center for Aggies Go To War, and the Arts Council. The new center, VMAC, is located in Veterans Park in College Station, Texas. The idea of our project is to create a design that addresses the different programs individually while still functioning together as a whole. The form was influenced by the different cones of vision coming from the trails along Veterns Park and the desire to let the old be connected to the new with direct sight lines. A visitor to VMAC would see the park be framed through the large atrium’s as soon as they drive up and the park visitors would be drawn to the building by the connecting paths. Concept

O l y m p i c G y m n a s t i c s Design Partner: Melina Cedillo The assignment was to design the Womans Olympic Gymnastics training facility in Huntsville, Texas. The primary emphasis of the project is an axis emerging from the north side of the facility with an ending point at the lake. The program is separated into five separate regions that branch off the axis. The administrative and commons area is the first region located at the north of the facility. On the east side of the facility there is two residential regions. The first one is made up of six motel buildings, and the second region has nine cabins. The other two regions are made up of the artistic gym and the tumbling/ rhythmic gym which are located on the west side of the axis. The overall assemblage of the facility is designed to create a clear separation between the residential and gymnasium regions by the axis. 200
