Voice Lessons
Do you love to sing? Would you like to improve your sound, learn proper techniques, and have fun? Voice lessons are a great way to build confidence and poise while singing songs you enjoy. Each lesson will be tailored to meet your needs and goals. Madeline Morris has a Masters degree in Music Education, has been teaching and performing since 1977, and is a current member of Apollo Chorus of Chicago and a voice student of Anne Marie Ouverson Bice of NU. Outdoor Kids Yoga
This class is run by professional yoga instructors from Chicago Loves Dance. We supply the mats all you need to do is come ready for some yoga and stretch! In this class kids will learn beginning yoga movements, terms, and yoga-based games to make learning fun. Yoga in early childhood is wonderful for improving listening skills, building self-esteem, and supporting social and emotional learning. In the case of inclement weather, the class will move indoors. Beginning Rhythmic Gymnastics
Calling all Olympic hopefuls! If you like music, dance, tumbling, and creativity, you have to try rhythmic gymnastics. It combines the beauty and artistry of dance with the strength and power of tumbling. Gymnasts perform routines to music using hand apparatus such as ribbons, balls, hoops, ropes and clubs. In the beginner class, girls will learn the basic body positions, elementary apparatus handling and musicality. Gymnasts may wear leotards or basic dance clothes. Basketball 102
The next step in basketball instruction, this class will build upon the fundamentals taught in the Basketball 101 class. A slightly faster paced environment will be geared around competitive play, encouraging tactics such as attacking the basket and aggressive defense. Basketball 201
Players begin to develop more advanced skills such as various guard/ post techniques, setting screens, moving without the ball and offensive spacing. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, help-line and boxing out. Players spend time developing their shot using proper mechanics to be effective further from the basket. Asylum Skateboard Private Lessons
Asylum instructors are ISCPD/SKATZ certified. Instructors teach high quality lessons in a sustained and progressive way. This is also a great leadership development program where children learn the fundamentals and safety of skateboarding. Private lessons are available for beginners, intermediate or advanced level skateboarders. Cancellation Policy - if you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation you forfeit your fee. The Asylum Skate Class is one of the best in the Midwest. We provide our students with a fun, well-rounded program that is perfect for any skateboarder at any level. So, whether it’s your first time on board or not when you combine Asylum’s friendly staff and safe environment it’s an experience you will remember forever. Total Sports
This class features a new sport each week. Some of the sports taught and played include football, kickball, soccer and baseball. In addition, participants play many popular running and group games. Gather your friends and build your own athletic program! Do you want to participate in some of the amazing programs the Deerfield Park District has to offer, but are worried about being in a class with others that you may not know? We can help you shape your own recreation “pod” experience with your friends. The Deerfield Park District is partnering with Hot Shots Sports to bring you this program. Your “pod” can have up to nine kids.
