Cups4you, originally called Vadeal Plastics, was founded in 1969 to produce coffee stirrers, measuring cups for detergent, cutlery, cups, furniture caps and shoe heels.
The company’s growth led to the opening of a second production facility in Veghel. During this period, apart from customised packaging, the company launched a range of standard and specialised packaging on the market.

The company moved to its present premises in Oss in 1970. In the 1980s, it started specialising in injection moulding combined with dry offset printing for packaging for several industries such as salad producers.
This was the birth of the Cups4you brand. In 2011, the facility in Oss was expanded and the Veghel and Oss facilities were merged.

In 1993, Vadeal Plastics started using in mould labelling technology with the injection moulding of thin wall packaging for the food industry. This led to a substantial growth of the company in the 1990s and early 2000s.
The end of 2013 saw a management buy-out, making the current management the major shareholder of the company. Given the company’s strong focus on the food industry, the facility in Oss underwent major renovation in 2017. This will allow Cups4you to strengthen its position as the preferred supplier for customers that use 100 - 2.500 ml injection moulding packaging in the food industry.

During the injection moulding process, the injection moulding machine heats the PP until it is a liquid mass, which is then injected into the mould under high pressure. Special peripheral equipment is used to place the pre-printed label in the mould just before it closes. The mould closes and the liquid melts with the label and then cools very fast to a fixed temperature. In a matter of seconds, the injection moulding machine and the peripheral equipment produce packaging with a unique appearance from one type of material. Injection moulding gives us freedom of design, making it possible to create detailed packaging.

culidish Culidish is a food packaging concept consisting of different compartments in one meal tray with a patented heat distribution label (shielding). This total packaging meal tray concept uses unique microwave technology. It is indispensable for companies in the hospitality industry (restaurants, hotels), meal service providers or the delicatessen industry.

The patented Shieltronics in mould label maintains the right temperature by regulating the microwaves in each of the individual food compartments. Different foods can thus be put in the microwave simultaneously, be it soup, vegetables, fish, sauces or even salads. The foods will not be affected by hot/cold spots or burn-in. The whole meal can be heated together in the microwave, with each component of the meal in each compartment reaching the right temperature. The taste and quality (maintenance of the fresh nutrients) of the fresh meal is retained.

Cups4you has led the market in combining thin wall injection moulding packaging with In Mould Labelling (IML) since the early 1990s. IMLs make any package stand out and give it an unique high quality appearance. In the IML process, a preprinted polypropylene (PP) label is placed in a mould that is shaped like the end product. During the injection moulding process, the injection moulding machine heats the PP to a liquid mass that can be injected into the mould under high pressure. The pre-printed label is added using special precise peripheral equipment just before the mould is closed. After that, the liquid plastic melts with the label and is then cooled very rapidly to create a rigid product. In just a few seconds, the injection moulding machine and the peripheral equipment produce a single material unique package. Injection moulding is versatile enough to produce individual detailed unique designs. Cups4you only works with the best suppliers to ensure that its customers get exactly what they want.
Our modern peripheral equipment includes linear and six axis robots. We design and build our own equipment and have created a system which allows us to quickly change production runs and select the appropriate automation. We have also installed viewing equipment in many of our production lines so that we can check the labels on the products during production. Our machine park consists of high quality machines fitted with the latest technology. We achieve high production rates with low energy consumption. As we strive to be prepared for the future, we collaborate with technical colleges in the region and offer several interesting internships.

This standard was developed for companies that produce packaging materials for a wide range of products, from food to consumer goods, and at all levels: primary, secondary and tertiary. We have achieved the highest standard in this certification year after year. We also work with FOCOS, a secure web environment which supports us in food contact management throughout the supply chain. Through FOCOS, we can check the semi-finished goods producers for adherence to current legislation and regulations. Our product specific Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is a guarantee for our customers that our packaging is suitable for use with food.

The switch to a new Random Copolymer grade has led to reduced energy consumption as a result of reduced cycle times and temperature settings.

Biobased Raw Materials
After successful exploration, identification and testing, biobased pp-grades were introduced to our sales partners. These biobased ppgrades are certified biodegradable as well as compostable.

Green light
Re-arrangement of the entire internal lighting system in the building by a functional approach has led to a substantial decrease of the number of lighting points. The remaining lighting points were fitted with eco lamps, replacing all conventional lamps. The overall light intensity has been drastically improved in the new situation and supports a better work environment.

The current PPE’s are being gradually replaced by new full electric PPE’s. Each replacement implies a dramatic reduction of energy consumption and a further improvement of work environment. Certain production lines now even have an energy consumption reduction of 60%.
One of the goals is the further research and development of a bio based counter port-folio, next to our conventional oil based portfolio. Biobased options will help our customers to reduce their appeal to fossil resources. Due to the international orientation of our company, the impact may be potentially large.

Waste Management
Distinct steps of waste management were being made, implying the definition, organisation, execution and management of multiple waste streams. As a result, the generic waste volume is reduced and transformed into several valuable sources of reusable material e.g. biodegradable waste, metal, wood, paper/carton, generic waste, oil(containing) waste, chemical waste. Apart from waste valorisation, this effort has led to a good understanding of each stream as well. This establishment and awareness is the starting point for structural improvement by setting and achieving new goals via the Social Responsibility company policy.
