We are dedicated to ensuring that our education program is not only a fun and memorable experience, but also a learning experience. We offer a variety of different programs: hands-on and interpretive; guided and self-guided tours; daycare; and a Pioneer Day Camp. Although each of these programs has a slightly different presentation, the message still conforms to our mission of continuing to engage future generations.

Fort Dauphin Museum Exploring the Past

Fort Dauphin Museum Fort Dauphin Museum was established in 1975. It is located in the west end of Dauphin near the Vermillion River. Complete with a pioneer home, trading post, blacksmith shop, trapper’s cabin, church, and oneroom schoolhouse, the museum contains a vast array of artifacts and is an ideal source of information about Manitoba’s past. The Fort itself is a replica of a fur-trading post that was established on the shore of Lake of the Prairies in 1741. Fort Dauphin Museum is also the home of the Parkland Archaeological Laboratory, a facility that stores information on more than 1,000 archaeological sites in the Parkland Region.

Who are we? Flying Squirrel Sports is the premier destination for entertainment seekers of all ages! Established in 2015 by two twin brothers dedicated to pioneering both fun and safety, we are the world’s first largest indoor luxury trampoline park. We offer state-of-the-art equipment, world-class customer service, and an experience designed just for you, whether you’re a watchful guardian or rambunctious teenager. We can’t wait for you to come fly with us!

What sets us apart? With the rapid expansion of the trampoline park industry, so too have climbed the number of injuries sustained by patrons when they lose control and land on trampoline pads that overlay the steel frames. As a solution to this problem, we have developed and patented the world’s only shock attenuating trampoline park structure. The design includes trampoline shock absorbing suspension mounts, a connection system with a pivoting horizontal bed rail and a German gas shock system incorporated directly into the trampoline framework was established to fulfill the need in the industry to create a safer trampoline park. We are unwaiveringly dedicated to quality and strive to keep our facilities spotless. At the end of each day, we wipe down every inch of our trampolines with an anti-microbial solution. We also have Air Traffic Controllers on every trampoline court to supervise the soaring action.

What’s in it for me? We understand that parents and teachers are looking for an exciting place to take their children – a place that will inspire kids to break away from their video games, experience the real-life thrill of flying through the air, and get hours of exercise while doing it. Not only is Flying Squirrel a top choice for making lasting memories, but we’re also the top birthday places in the area. Regardless of the age, our indoor trampoline park and fun center are perfect for birthday parties, group events, and field trips.

What’s there to do? Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, there’s something for everyone here. Jump on our free WiFi and relax in our luxurious lounge and massage chairs or take advantage of the fast-paced fun that only a trampoline can provide. Among these activities are Dunk Hoops, where any player can dunk like a pro, Ninja Courses, Climbing walls, Battle Beams, Slack Lines, Parkour Parks, Rope Swings, Foam Pits, Tumble Tracks, Stunt Jump Air Bags, Dodgeball, and Freestyle Courts which takes the traditional fun and elevates it to a sport unlike any other. We also house a delicious cafe in each park to break for lunch or fuel up for another round! With a menu includes pizzas, wraps, and so much more, there is truly something for everyone.

Final thoughts: We promise we will soar to the occasion every time. We specialize in smiles, and our goal is to add you to the list of satisfied family members. Come experience the ultimate adrenaline rush for people of all ages! Reserve your group today! Groups@FlyingSquirrelSports.com

Deer Meadow Farms is an excellent choice for introducing students to the farm and providing them with an authentic farm experience. Our new location offers more opportunities for students to experience the country. Our K-6 programs follow the Manitoba curriculum, and our junior and senior high programs can be adapted to follow any science or social studies themes. Fall programs offer the corn maze-themed with sign stations that stimulate learning and physical activity while having fun. Our Wild Game preserve and Wagon Train rides focus on habitats, eco-systems and wildlife, and our petting farm centres on animal husbandry and food awareness. The Junior Farmer program for Spring 2019 will offer more opportunities to plant and learn about growing food with modern techniques that are consistent with modern sustainable practices. But the reason students love coming here is because our staff are well trained and we make sure there’s plenty of fun.

The Fire Fighters Museum of Winnipeg located at 56 Maple Street, was built in 1904 and was an active fire hall until 1990. It was one of five fire halls built in 1904 and eventually this plan was used for 14 of Winnipeg’s fire stations. It is a 2 1/2 story, brick building with a full basement and completed with an attached stable and 75-foot-high hose tower. The museum offers an extensive collection of vintage fire apparatus, artifacts, pictures, and information about the history of fire fighting in the city of Winnipeg and its suburbs. Dedicated to the Winnipeg fire fighters, both past and present, their families and friends, we offer you a glimpse of what fire fighting was like from 1882 to the present day.

FOOD!

Where does our food come from? How do we take care of the environment and the animals? What does global warming mean? Through our curriculum-based, hands-on workshops, your students will explore the science behind where and how food is made, learn about sustainable agricultural practices, and turn locally produced, nutritious ingredients into tasty treats in the kitchen. Select a workshop that fits your needs - see all of our programs at ffdc.ca  Great Grain Exchange  Discovering Dairy  Extraordinary Eggs  Pizza Farm  This is our Planet! makes for an ideal field trip

Located 15 minutes south of Winnipeg on Highway 75, the Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre takes students on an exploration of modern farming and food production. Interactive exhibits lead from the farmer’s field and the livestock barn to the food processor and the kitchen. Students delve into Manitoba crops and soils, and learn about the factors that influence crop production – from insects to weather and climate. A highlight of the Centre is the viewing windows into breeding, gestation, birthing and nursery rooms of the hog barn. Contemporary animal care and production practices are highlighted through a variety of interactive exhibits including FarmFood360 Virtual Reality farm tours. While visiting our new dairy facility featuring robotic milkers, students learn about milking cows and follow the steps our milk takes to get to the store. Food processing, food safety and human nutrition are explored in the demonstration kitchen to complete the food production journey. Educators can select from 11 curriculum-focused programs, including the popular Great Grain Exchange, Science of Spuds, Discovering Dairy, and the ecology-themed This is Our Planet program. Our newest program is Pizza Farm, where students make their own lunch and follow the path of pizza from farm to plate. The hands-on activities bring learning to life, and connect curricular themes in social studies, science, geography, health and nutrition to the food we eat. Located at the Glenlea Research Station, the Centre also showcases the latest research by the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. Hours of operation: Tuesday – Saturday - 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (February to mid-December). Contact Centre staff at 204-883-2524 or visit www.ffdc.ca for admission costs and more information. manitoba School Destinations

Upper Fort Garry Provincial Park

A historical site that offers a different experience – an exciting and fun way to explore the parts of the curriculum relating to Upper Fort Garry in Winnipeg.

Hudson's Bay Company's Upper Fort Garry was the site of commerce, conflict, history, heroism, culture, military might and the Red River colony's social centre. Here our ancestors rallied, claimed our place as a province thus leading the west into Confederation and defining our nation, Canada. The Triumphs of UFG are our past and a window to our future. Today. UFG is equal parts imagination, illumination and entertainment. The site transcends discovering facts through technology based interpretative approaches to learning. Using the free CanNect app, (see www.upperfortgarry.com) you can access both text and verbal information on fort buildings as well as the icons on the ribbon of history on the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Heritage Wall with its sound and light shows. CanNect is available in 11 languages – English, French, Ojibwa, Cree, German,Ukrainian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog and Arabic. Equine Assisted Learning at Sagehill Stables Our teachers are 1,200 pounds! The value of working with horses as a teaching tool has been proven time and time again in the teaching of young people, especially teenagers. Horses understand how to differentiate between potentially threatening behaviour and a calm and assertive nature. Young people can learn how to modify their behaviour to interact with horses through sets of exercises − a learning experience that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Give your students the skills necessary to take on the challenges life throws at them! We all learn differently, but we can all take away lessons that we learn through experiences. We’re the only nationally recognized Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) program in Canada, and each of our exercises is custom-designed to maximize learning potential and focus on developing individual skills as they work through fun, interactive group challenges. Teams/individuals will: • develop relationships • accept responsibility and accountability • overcome barriers to find change • be encouraged to be creative and innovative • find opportunity in working together • realize the benefits associated with effective communication • and recognize the value of mutual trust, respect, and personal integrity EAL acts as an important educational tool to help to develop empathy and kindness as well as combat: • Behavioural disorders • Low self-esteem • Drug abuse • Poor communication skills

• Bullying • Emotional issues • Inability to work with others

LaserTopia

C

ome see LaserTopia’s newly expanded entertainment facility with over 13,000 square feet of FUN! Visit our NEW arcade area which has over 40 fun and exciting games to choose from. Featuring the four-seat XD Dark Ride... the industry’s latest interactive 7D experience that will take riders on an adrenaline-charged journey through an interactive adventure complete with real-time HD graphics, motion, light, sound and non stop excitement! Riders get to compete against each other and try to secure the high score. This is the first ever XD Dark Ride interactive theater in Winnipeg... and can only be found at LaserTopia! And of course, come and enjoy the only laser tag facility in Winnipeg that offers over 4,500 square feet...on two levels! It’s so much fun, and we run games every 15 minutes.

If you’re looking for an outing with your classmates, or having your graduation, look no further. We offer it all at LaserTopia! When you bring your class to LaserTopia, teachers play for free! Teachers, don’t forget: this place is not just for kids – many faculty come to play and really enjoy themselves. You don’t need to know how to play. We have a really cool briefing room where you watch a fun two-minute video explaining the rules of the game and the equipment you will play with. We also have game marshals to assure a fun, safe environment, so you can leave the kids behind and come play with your colleagues if you like. Call us to book an event. We will even open our doors early, providing you have at least 20 people playing laser tag.

We can accommodate groups from 10 to 250 people. LaserTopia has been host to hundreds of school groups, and once they’ve played here, they can’t wait to return.
