Why Mid-Century?
Laine suspension from Heritage collection
Brubeck floor lamp from Heritage collection
Interior decors from the 40s to the 60s were clean, sophisticated, and inclusive. Despite the passage of time, mid-century designs have remained a staple in interior architecture: with clean lines and minimal but colourful details it evokes cool vibes. Our eleven years old company is focused on the best combination of high-quality design and high-quality artisanship. DELIGHTFULL’S world combines the past Heritage of handwork with attention to emerging needs of the future. Our pieces not only illuminate interiors they also add strong design presence to space with their unique mid-century forms. However, what mid-century modern actually means?
It’s a modern design that knows how to mix stylish with comfort, that’s why it fits with today’s more casual lifestyle and open spaces. Mid-century style refers to design developments from the middle of the 20th century. The war was finally over and design was more avant-garde than ever before. The style was very simple because of the scarcity of materials but this helped the designer in expanding their creativity. It was the period of space exploring, Marilyn Monroe acting in a Hollywood movie and Elvis Presley rocking at the radio. The time when designers set the guidelines for this fantastic style: clean lines, colours, open space and lightness. Mid-century style has an understated look thanks for its clean lines, curves and smooth surfaces. It can be considered a geometric minimalism since excess is off-limits. Living open spaces are a must, such as big windows, or even better: French doors. The aim is to make it feel like you only have a single open space, internal and external. The used materials are a combination of contrasting elements (such as metal, glass, vinyl and wood) to create a cool mixture of natural and modern details. In addition, colour is the focus in each space: clean lines and simple shapes leave plenty of room for bright details. Patterns emerge in abstract paintings, pillows, and other accessories, such as wallpapers. Neverthless we will talk about that in the next article. 9

Mid-century loves geometric, abstract patterns and details: it’s all about fluidity and movement, with a touch of extravagance.
Botti suspension lamp from Heritage collection
For a mid-century modern home, incorporating abstract patterns is a must. While deco geometric patterns are the crown jewel, for mid-century modern it doesn’t matter if they are sharped, soften rounded patterns or tropical; every mid-century style helps in combining multiple colours together. You can choose the accessories you prefer; from pillows, rugs, or directly a fresh wallpaper. A vintage wallpaper it’s not only trendy but also elegant and subtle. The vintage style never goes out of fashion and that’s why evergreen wallpaper is among us again as one of the trends of 2018. Yes, it is a trend that fits all ages!
try a delicate and dainty approach to midcentury modern wallpaper with a pretty floral design? We are always looking for that sensation of being surrounded by perfumed flowers and bees flying from one flower to another. Green gives everyplace a touch of freedom.. The green colour has a relaxing effect and promotes calm so a floral wallpaper can totally help you achieve the dream of a makeshift tree house… the perfect plan if you want to be spoiled the one for once. A mid-century decor with your favourite wallpaper it’s the solution to brighten your room to life. Look at this Botti Pendant, it is the perfect match of mid-century style with a pinch of contemporary and it goes well with a natural patterned wallpaper trend. And what about our new Kenny Table Lamp? The super-colourful trends of the moment allow us to dare, but if you were more inclined to an industrial style, don’t worry, there are stylish solutions for you too. Industrial environments tend to make raw materials prevail so why don’t you opt for a concrete or brick effect wallpaper?

Wallpaper evokes emotions, memories, sensations. Extremely decorative and romantic, it can also be eccentric. Besides the variety of proposed designs, there are different materials. Wallpaper, with the right details, is useful in giving a new look to your interior design, a look that will make an old apartment shine with new life. This year’s trend brings with it the rediscovery of nature with flowers, plants and animals. The result is a colourful (and sometimes ironic) jungle style. Without any doubt, nature is the bearer of joy, beauty and kindness – so why don’t you 11

days”, go full-on retro with a cool geometric motif. Your walls will become the fulcrum of your room, so choose simple furniture and details not to make everything too extravagant. Our Madeleine Suspension lamp seems directly from Fonzie Kitchen and it’s perfect for these situations. Every house is different, not just because of the location but also for the style we chose to use inside. Nevertheless, each family has a place where reality can be seen through the eyes of the imagination.
Also, geometric shapes are back directly from the 60s so you only have to choose which style you prefer. If you are looking for a very modern style, concrete is the keyword and since the room can be a bit dark try to play with light games and bright accessories: you can showcase intense colors in throw pillows, decorations, or upholstery, a pop of color is always a plus when it comes to mid-century modern design. A lamp with several shades can help you in making your room even shiner. Our Neil suspension is the perfect solution for that. On the contrary, if you are trying to renovate your home in the style of “happy
Kids need a place for their own, a place that can help them in being creative and happy. The room should represent a place where the child can fully express his personality so why don’t let him/her choose his favourite atmosphere? Some cheerful details are perfect. Air Balloon or Galaxy are just some examples. In any case, remember that they will also need a place where to concentrate and study and a good illumination it’s a must.

A message in your garden
The weather is changing, and you can already feel the warmth of summer. Finally, days are getting longer and nights are getting shorter. It’s the best period where to freely express your creativity not only with colorful outfits but also when preparing healthy meals and organizing pool parties. Summer is the warmest season of the year when the sun shines directly on half of the world. With this season’s longer days, the beauty of nature is exposed: grasses are green, flowers bloom and myriad birds and animals return to the melted and blossoming fields… That’s why this is the season that brings back many outdoor social activities: picnics, beaches and parks are always full of people trying to relax and unwind themselves under clear skies. And of course we don’t have to forget that this is still the perfect period for party lovers. Summertime is an “open season” where so many parties are held in the outside just to take advantage of the fine weather, with clear skies the summer hosts a very bright moon, ideal if you want to feel a free spirit dancing under it.
Even if you don’t like festivals or parties you will for sure take advantage of the mild temperature of the evening. There are many alternatives from happy hours to BBQs – the important thing is to be surrounded by all your friends. So why don’t’ you start thinking about how to make your porch or your living room even more vibrant and bright? A Graphic Lamp is for sure an amazing idea! We all know that this is the year of colors, so let’s make the world colorful. Choose from the alphabet a letter that means something to you and goes ahead with that. It can be used both on the inside and in the outside; with its vintage look will be a perfect combination of every ambience. Moreover, what about a backyard movie party? You can always invite friends to join you for an after movie night party when the film is finished. And what a better idea than celebrating with an S lamp, that stands for Summer, that can also help your guests to find their way to the cocktail area. Combine it with white candles and you will quickly transform your backyard into a sophisticated and festive feel cocktail party. 15
The best part? The candles will go out but our lamp will continue lighting up space so the party can keep going even after dark. Summer makes everything “alive” again. This has been and is still the most celebrated aspect of this season. Don’t let your busy schedule run you into the ground: make some time for yourself to enjoy the good weather!

Bconnected Living Concepts is a creative lifestyle company born out of love and passion for design. The founders, Christine Leja and Andree Mienkus, life motto – love what you do and do what you love – formed and inspired the entire Bconnected team. The golden era of Hollywood inspired Bconnected Living Concepts and this magnificent Penthouse in Palma de Mallorca is the result. The placement is unbeatable: terraces hanging from heaven, nature embracing every corner and the swift breeze of the Mediterranean haven. A three bedroom apartment where Bconnected Living Concepts designers, Monica Cernich and Marie-Luise Leja, could only be inspired. We can describe this fantastic fancy
apartment with one word: Relaxation. Palm trees, neon lights, exquisite Jonathan Adler designs and bespoke rugs carefully woven with the unique Beiriz knowledge come together with the solid and elegant design of a Knoll calacatta marble dining table and Pieere Frey wallpaper to make this feast for the owners. With a minimalistic attitude, the accessories are fundamental and splashes of color was used in the details. However, they found the perfect ally in wallpapers. A tropical wallpaper makes a stairs nook super stylish and 19

bright while giving the modern glossy kitchen a vintage touch directly from the 50’s. The purpose of the kitchen minimal lines is to make you concentrate on such a paradisiacal view, which is easier thanks to the black window that frames the ocean. Wallpaper was also used in the bathroom service with light blue and white patterns that add the scent of a fresh ocean breeze and brighten the atmosphere of the interior design project. When mid-century style meets the Mallorca colourful vibe by the sea the final result is this breathtaking apartment. A framework with such an enchanted view of the sea. The mid-century glam is even more visible in this bright living room. The large windows are once again the focus in the room. One of the characteristics that surely the owners will love about these windows is that opening them, they will have a single open space, internal and external. Isn’t this the best way to enjoy the Mediterranean climate and the sea breeze? Elegance is perceived not only by the quality of the pieces chosen but also by
The only thing that distinguishes the interior from the terrace are the golden details: a great way to replace the brightness of the summer sun. A small detail that helps the environment look more natural are the stunning mirrors positioned in front of the large windows to reflect sunlight. Furthermore, when we look at them we can see all the details of the room from different perspectives.

What attracts our eyes the most is definitely Brubeck Suspension Lamp. The designers chose this elegant piece to give prominence to the dining area. Representing sophistication and finesse and displaying a very luxurious feeling, the result of this outstanding creation is a functional dining room chandelier with sculptural shapes. Also taking the center stage is one of the most iconic Floor Lamps from DelightFULL: Stardust. The showstopper from the living room area – a true star. The perfect place for a family vacation home. Monica and Marie-Luise were responsible for the shaping of an elegant diplomatic suit into a sassy cocktail dress, flamingos and pineapples included: the best for the very best; an exquisite place for an exquisite family and as they said in their own words: “a client like this comes around once in a lifetime!”

In addition to the trends launched by fashion designers and prestigious fashion houses, one of the most wanted Festivals of the year happened - Coachella - it has done its part by sharing the previews of the beautiful summer season. So, after all is said and viewed, multiple chains and tassel earrings are just some of the 2018 summer trends. The rest? A journey between the 50s and the 80s. Thanks to the fashionable vintage-look hairbands, trench coats, polka dot and floral dresses that are, once more, back. Still, the keyword of the season? Fun. The color trends of the year will make you the winner of the season. Combining different shades for irreverent games of contrast will allow you to have the carefree and happy look. Multiple chains trends started from famous singers such as Beyoncé and Rihanna that combine their stylish plunging neckline outfits with accessories that now become the fulcrum. Doesn’t matter if it’s golden or silver, your neck must be embellished. A touch of design that recalls our Brubeck mid-century modern chandelier. If you like moving and dancing around while being comfortable you are probably not into the multiple chains trend, nevertheless, if you still want to be fashionable we have other suggestions for you. For example Tassel Earrings! This new trend can have a more rock’n roll touch if made up of metal wires while also reminding of the carefree hippie times if you go for the super colourful cotton wires type. You will be able to be both fashionable and comfortable while dancing like Tina Turner! Brubeck suspension from Heritage collection

Shall we say, “The 50s are finally back”? Burberry Trench Coat is one the immortal trends recovered from the past. The classic look that can transform each outfit into something more sophisticated. Doesn’t matter if it’s the classic version above the ankles or if it’s shorter, the result will always be elegance. It somehow will transform all of us into Hollywood stars that are walking around New York City with Frank Sinatra’s songs as the soundtrack. By vintage-look this summer, we go for Polka dot, floral dresses and Hairbands that are back directly from the 50’s. Besides the heat, summer brings with it a great desire for colors so why deny a touch of color and a pinch of madness. Floral is always a good idea for an easy-chic look because it always brings happiness whenever and wherever you are wearing it. However, we are not only talking about dresses! This fantasy can also be extended to all clothing accessories such as bags, scarves and T-shirts. Wearing a floral print has many advantages, such as giving bringing that clear look and it makes your face and hair the focus. If you want to shine as our Botti Lamp with its fresh look, you shouldn’t mix too many different styles not to look like a “tropical forest”. Polka dot and hairband are two summer trends that really work wonders together. A full outfit from the 50s that can also be related to a more modern period for example, as a tribute to Amy Winehouse style. Doesn’t matter the size of this funny geometrical figures everything depends on how you act while wearing them.

We will have several brown shades in the new palettes, that will remind us of a very natural, earthy and calm vision of design attitude. Although, for the lovers of the brighter shades, there is a place for you as well. Another standout trend will include a movement to intense colours. Vivacious hues such as blue bird and nasturium are going to shine everywhere soon. 2019’s colors will somehow be able to create a super romantic atmosphere with a touch of vintage mood. The wallpaper addiction will continue, as the inspiration drawn from the mid-century style with its bright shades, fun time and amazing patterns.
