16 | Thank You For Reading

President’s Message Hey DLA jellies! Is it just me or has summer  flown by way too quickly? I hope you all have had plenty time to go on fun vacations and to rejuvenate these past months. However it's almost time we start to put everything in full gear! Be sure to make the most of these last few days of summer and be ready to come back shining like the s-up-e-r superstar that you are. With a new school year coming around, I challenge you to set some new goals. Make some resolutions this month whether it's getting your work done earlier or getting out of your comfort zone. I also challenge you to continue pushing yourself to give back to the community this year. Try coming out to that one service event you've always wanted to go to but never had the time or attend a DCM and meet someone new from a different club! I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and we look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for all of your support and for your dedication to service, (and also for reading the newsletter!) it certainly does not go unnoticed and I know together, we are capable of reaching greater heights. <3

Jane Pham Del Lago Key Club President

Our Key Club has been very lucky to have the opportunity to volunteer and help out at the San Diego Children's Discovery Museum. Our members usually are tasked with helping the museum events run smoothly, through running booths, cleaning equipment and even interacting with young children. The aspect of working with young kids while they learn has been one of the most rewarding parts of our time at the SDCDM They are always very excited to learn while we help them. Our experience at the museum is something that we won't forget. We would like to thank the museum for welcoming us into their facility and allowing us to work alongside them in their many events. DLA Key Club is looking forward to when we can come volunteer next!

From helping kids with crafts, to telling families to smile while taking their picture, we did it all! The children’s museum has been a great place to volunteer since earlier this year. At these events in July, we helped alongside employees, interns, and fellow volunteers at events for the children and their families. Sometimes we run the photo booth, other times we would help kids with crafts. We would even help organize a little and get to discover new things along the way.

At MahalOTC our officers learned more about their positions and how to better this term. We also learned how to become better leaders and how to get to know all of you! Bonding with the Orcas and fellow Jellies got us to know them a little bit better. A huge thank you to LTGs Camille and Karen for putting together this great event, and the divisions’ DLT for providing informative presentations!
