Editor’s Message Hey Jellies! I’ve finally started to write a note for all of you! Hi it’s Bri and I’m still the editor for our club’s newsletter. Aside from being this newsletter’s editor I proudly serve as your treasurer and one of our division’s spirit coordinators. I’d like to give a huge thank you to all of you who joined during club rush and those who stayed with us! Watch out jellies each term gets better and better and we always strive to go above and BEEyond! Expect a lot of service with just the same amount of spirit with everything we do. To our newer members, you’ll be hearing a lot about what I do for all of you. For starters we’ll be talking about how to become an official key club member aka my favorite topic besides the spirit stick, DUES! If you joined us at RTC you should of heard some tidbits about them, we’ll be going into detail soon. Don’t be afraid of the money everyone, we’ll be here to help you out if you need it! We want as much of you to be involved throughout this term, it would mean the world. As you enter this issue of the newsletter you’ll know a lot about our events from this month and hopefully you all like the layouts I’ve been working on. Thank you to everyone who showed up at our first couple of events, including our very first meeting with such an outstanding turnout (crying tears of joy). All the support we’ve been getting comes from all of you! We all thank you so so much for being there if you can! Let’s look to the future shall we? I can’t wait to see all of you lovely jellies at the service events we have planned, and the division spirit nights we’ll be holding in the near future with the excitement of fall rally south! Let’s get all the service and spirit we can this term and let’s start and end with a Big Bang, let’s show everyone who the jellies are!

“In my experience, the car wash fundraiser was indeed a success! That being said, it was very fun being with the club along with other key clubs from other schools. For this fundraiser, our club was working with Mission Hills for a cause. That cause being the Pediatric Trauma Program. This car wash fundraiser event has been fun from the sign holding/ advertising, to the car washing. To be honest, I felt that this event has brought us together as not only a club, but a division. I got to meet new people from another school while getting to know the members of our own club on another level. Even so, we all worked hard together within the seven hours (under the hot weather- and boy do I love warm weather!) of service to find that both schools were able to save up enough money! Now as a member of key club, and a member of the spirit committee, I can admit that events like these are not just focused on socializing or earning more service hours for our own futures, but for serving others in the community with a smile. While having fun in this event with others around me, I’ve felt happy to have finally made some form of difference in the community. This is a feeling I’d wish to share with everyone else whether they are in or outside of key club. And this is a feeling that everyone deserves.” - Jennifer Manimtim Del Lago Key Club General Member

With over 100 new and returning jellies, our first meeting was a success. Here we taught the key club pledge, and some information about key club and what we’re all about. From the first meeting alone we could sense all the bonding, new friendships forming, and new leaders to take place. With all the potential in this room we could feel all the BUZZ of excitement to all DLA jellies!

It’s finally that time! Time for Region 1.5’s Training Conference! Before that we had to learn how we’re going to win the spirit stick. We learned all our new cheers and met brand new and old key clubbers from all over our division at this fun spirit night.

“Division spirit night was so much fun because we were able to meet other people from our division and just be able to come together to learn the chants. When we did the ice breaker everyone was good about loosing and they didn’t get upset instead they cheered the people who were still in on and that made me notice how much love is in our division. I’m glad I joined this year and I wished I joined last year, but now I know key club is where I belong.” - Angelica Flores Del Lago Key Club General Member

To make it up for the jellies who couldn’t make it to the division Spirit Night, we came to the rescue and planned a Spirit Day to learn all the cheers while hanging out with fellow club members. An icy treat made the day much better after a long day of school, key club + ice cream is a win.

“This was my first time at any big key club event and i absolutely loved it! I went to conferences to help with my school and social life and learned how to balance the two. All the conferences I went were very well thought out and well practiced. I was very included by all the other kids there! Overall my experience was spectacular and I recommended RTC to everyone! -Lily Rietkerk Del Lago Key Club General Member

Shoot for the staRsTC was a success to all of Region 1.5. From the amazing DB, to the presenters, and all the spirit that was showcased here showed so much passion and dedication to key club. Whole new bonds and memories were created at RTC, new challenges taken, new risks, and the knowledge of how to be a great leader.
