Moulded off the dead structure of New Mexican cactus’ called Cholla. XYLEM is the resurrection of this desert organism to once again host vitality... now a part of the urban cyclist.

GIRTH Dead cholla cactus limbs at least .875� were collected for ideal grip ergonomics.
LENGTH Based on the nature of bronze and standard handlebar length, 20� was selected for lightweighting and use with many frames.
SILICON MOLD Molds of original cactus limbs were made to pour wax replicas.

STEEL SUPPORT STRUCTURE Turned steel fitting hosts most bicycle stems and chamfers provide a smooth transition to the bronze.
WAX PATTERN Four sprues promoted seamless flow during casting.
SILICA SAND INVESTMENT Four sprues promoted seamless flow during casting.
WELDING Stainless steel rod runs through turned section and is spot welded into place.
