To illustrate them Silvia Regi Baracchi, the new Wine&Wedding 2017 testimonial, owner and Chef of the tuscan wine resort Il Falconiere, and Carmela Torrisi Faro, testimonial in 2016, holder of the Sicilian estates Donnacarmela and Radicepura.

Un’intervista doppia alla scoperta delle peculiarità che contraddistinguono due top wedding destination italiane, la Toscana e la Sicilia. Ad illustrarcele Silvia Regi Baracchi, la nuova testimonial Wine&Wedding 2017, titolare e Chef del wine resort toscano Il Falconiere, e Carmela Torrisi Faro, testimonial 2016, titolare delle strutture siciliane Donnacarmela e Radicepura.

Which are the three features of a wedding in perfect Tuscan and Sicilian style? S. R. Baracchi: the location is the most important characteristic, in it you should feel the typical Tuscan mood. Following our refined table set, in a perfect Tuscan country chic style and finally our cheerful kitchen, in which each dish has a story to tell. C. T. Faro: Firstly a wedding in Sicilian style must be traditional, authentic and friendly. Sicily is a land where hospitality is especially for foreign couples one of the deepest trait they will always bring with them.

Quali sono le tre caratteristiche di un matrimonio in perfetto stile toscano e siciliano? S. R. Baracchi: la location è la caratteristica più importante, in essa si deve percepire lo spirito tipicamente toscano. A seguire la nostra tavola, in perfetto stile country chic e infine la cucina solare, in cui ogni piatto ha una storia da raccontare. C. T. Faro: un matrimonio in stile siciliano deve essere tradizionale, autentico e accogliente. La Sicilia è una terra dove l’ospitalità ricevuta sarà per le coppie uno degli elementi più profondi che porteranno sempre con loro.

The peculiarities of your wedding menus? S. R. Baracchi: I usually suggest menus representing our land which, with its generous countryside, allows us to find all the best ingredients to create a menu with the bold flavors of Tuscany. C. T. Faro: our wedding menu is a mix of the best Sicilian flavors revisited in a unique and never dull way.

Quali sono le peculiarità dei vostri menù di nozze? S. R. Baracchi: cerco di consigliare menù che rappresentino il nostro territorio che, con la sua generosa campagna, ci aiuta a trovare tutti gli ingredienti migliori al fine di creare piatti dai decisi sapori toscani. C. T. Faro: il nostro menù è un mix dei migliori sapori della Sicilia rivisitati in maniera unica e mai banale.

Which is the most particular request you have received by foreign couples? S. R. Baracchi: we have organized a wedding of a couple from “Bollywood”, for four days, and each of them has been a challenge. C. T. Faro: we remember the marriage of a French couple, who wanted to hold the reception in the vineyards, with the breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea and of the stately Mount Etna.

Qual è la richiesta più particolare che avete ricevuto da parte degli sposi internazionali? S. R. Baracchi: abbiamo realizzato un matrimonio di una coppia di “Bollywood”, con quattro giorni di celebrazioni, dove ognuna era una nuova sfida. C. T. Faro: ricordiamo il matrimonio di una coppia francese, il quale desiderio era quello di organizzare il ricevimento tra i vigneti, con la vista mozzafiato del mare Ionio e del maestoso Etna.

What do you think of Wine&Wedding and what do you wish for the future? S. R. Baracchi: the project is definitely winning. Wine&Wedding, with its professionalism, is a perfect partner for people like us, having the fortune to propose a fine wine resort in the heart of Tuscany. C. T. Faro: is certainly a value to our facility, it provides us to get in touch with many couples. In the future we hope to encourage the wedding tourism more and more.

The preparations for the big day begin: the aristocratic garden is ready for the fateful Yes, for the civil ceremony the Castelnuovo Berardenga town hall is instead available. Under the wedding arch, after your beloved look, you realize not to be dreaming. The garden or large terrace with uninterrupted views of the Chianti countryside welcome your party, alternatively, for the winter season, will be available to you the fascinating and romantic rooms of the restaurant of the village.

On the wedding day everything around you seems enchanted. After awakening, take a walk through the garden with your beloved; like magic, white petals lying on the lawn will trace the path to the wedding arch. The embrace of your loved one welcomes you and your closest friends express joy smiling to you. The park is the stunning setting of your symbolic ceremony or alternatively a refined hall in the castle. The reception is set in the medieval halls or in the nineteenth-century halls, while, in the warmer seasons the panoramic terrace, is a unique alternative. A fireworks show will be the perfect end to an unforgettable day.

Il giorno del matrimonio tutto intorno a voi sembrerà incantato. Quando al risveglio raggiungerete i giardini per una passeggiata con il vostro amore, come per magia petali bianchi adagiati sul prato tracceranno il sentiero per l’arco nuziale. The route starts from the ancient water cistern, now used as a fine wine reserve, before going down to the old military bunker, leading out toward the castle grounds. Here, in the green lush gardens, recall the walk named after Giacomo Casanova, developed in the pergola, terraces adorned with statues and secular trees.

Wine&Wedding has interviewed Caterina and Susy Ceraudo, to find out the features offered to couples who decide to get married in Calabria.

Susy, why couples choose Calabria as a wedding destination? S. Ceraudo: Calabria is a land to discover, rich in history, stunning scenery, culture and ancient traditions. I really love my country and I know it is able to amaze who do not know it.

Susy, perché le coppie di sposi scelgono la Calabria come destinazione di nozze? S. Ceraudo: la Calabria è una terra da scoprire, ricca di storia, paesaggi mozzafiato, cultura e tradizioni antichissime. Amo moltissimo la mia terra e so bene che è in grado di stupire chi non la conosce.

What is your strength for a destination wedding? S. Ceraudo: our location is an ancient farmhouse dipped in the unspoiled nature of olive trees and vineyards, it is perfect for a romantic wedding.

Could you tell us a particular request asked by a foreign couple? S. Ceraudo: the civil ceremony of a young Russian couple has been translated in three languages and during the reception, as a good wish, we served bread and wine, a rite of the Russian tradition.

Ci racconti di una richiesta particolare ricevuta da una coppia di sposi stranieri? S. Ceraudo: la cerimonia civile di una giovane coppia russa è stata tradotta in tre lingue e durante il ricevimento, come buon augurio, è stato servito pane e vino, un rito della tradizione russa.

Caterina, where do you take inspiration from to make your creations? C. Ceraudo: my creations are inspired by the ingredient. Only through careful and meticulous analysis of its features, you succeed in creating a winning dish.

Caterina, come nascono le sue creazioni culinarie? C. Ceraudo: le mie creazioni nascono dall’ingrediente. Solo attraverso l’analisi attenta e minuziosa delle sue peculiarità, si può arrivare a creare un piatto vincente.

What is the winning dish/wine pairing in which you identify most? C. Ceraudo: The dish I particularly like is: “Red mullet, bread and oranges”. It is a very simple dish, which is characterized by its citrus and herbaceous component. The freshness of this recipe is enhanced by the combination with our Grisara, a pecorella wine with purity, i.e. a native wine of Calabria.

Qual è l’abbinamento vincente piatto/vino in cui si identifica maggiormente? C. Ceraudo: il piatto che amo particolarmente è: “Triglia, pane e arance”. È un piatto molto semplice, che si caratterizza per la sua componente agrumata ed erbacea. La freschezza di questo piatto è esaltata dall’abbinamento con il nostro Grisara, un pecorella in purezza, ovvero un vitigno autoctono calabrese.

What is the perfect wedding menu in the Wine&Wedding style? C. Ceraudo: a menu able to exalt the flavors of our land, with the right pairing of the local organic wine we produce. The menu might start with “Red mullet, bread and oranges”, following “Spaghettone with cod, confit tomato and black olives”, “Gnocchi made with ricotta, roasted pepper cream and spinach” and finally “Shank Glazed with Passito”.

Qual è il perfetto menù nuziale in stile Wine&Wedding? C. Ceraudo: un menù in grado di esaltare i sapori tipici del nostro territorio, con il giusto abbinamento di vini biologici autoctoni di nostra produzione. Il menù potrebbe iniziare con “Triglia, pane e arance”, a seguire uno “Spaghettone con baccalà, pomodoro candido e olive nere”, “Gnocchi di ricotta, crema di peperone arrosto e spinaci” e per finire “Stinco glassato al passito”.

In Conca dei Marini, on a rock overlooking the sea, lies Monastero Santa Rosa, an old monastery which today is an exclusive dream location, thanks to a restoration done with passion. Wine&Wedding interviewed Bianca Sharma, owner of the exclusive location and Flavio Colantuoni, property manager.

La Costiera Amalfitana è una delle mete più richieste per il viaggio di nozze. A Conca dei Marini, su una roccia a strapiombo sul mare, sorge Monastero Santa Rosa, un antico monastero che, grazie ad un restauro curato con passione, oggi è un’esclusiva location da sogno. Wine&Wedding ha intervistato Bianca Sharma, proprietaria dell’esclusiva location e il direttore della struttura, Flavio Colantuoni.

What of the old monastery has bewitched you so much to turn it into today’s Resort? B. Sharma: I was very impressed by its location. The first time I saw it from the sea, during a boat trip with friends and I could not believe in my eyes, especially thinking of what could have become once restored. The purchase of the Monastery and ten years of meticulous restoration works are only the logical consequence of this dream.

Cosa l’ha colpita del vecchio Monastero al punto da spingerla a trasformarlo nel Resort di oggi? B. Sharma: Sono rimasta molto colpita dalla sua posizione. La prima volta lo vidi dal mare durante un’escursione in barca con amici e non volevo credere ai miei occhi, soprattutto pensando a cosa sarebbe potuto diventare una volta restaurato. L’acquisto del Monastero e dieci anni di certosini restauri sono soltanto la logica conseguenza di questo sogno. 91 | WINE&WEDDING™

Which are the reasons that lead the couples to choose you and what services do you offer? F. Colantuoni: Monastero Santa Rosa, with its extraordinary position, narrates the poem of a historic and unique place in the world, the Amalfi Coast. The rooms facing the sea are the result of the restoration of the nuns cells, who lived in the monastery from the seventeenth to the twentieth century; they are only twenty, thus enhancing the exclusivity. We offer to the couples exclusive wellness treatments in our Spa and at the restaurant you can sample the signature recipes prepared by Chef Christoph Bob. To complete our proposal, the impeccable service, careful and discreet at the same time, fondling the couples, day after day.

Quali sono i motivi che portano le coppie a scegliervi e quali servizi offrite? F. Colantuoni: Monastero Santa Rosa, con la sua straordinaria posizione, racconta la poesia di un luogo storico e unico al mondo, la Costiera Amalfitana. Le camere affacciate sul mare sono state ricavate ristrutturando le celle delle monache che hanno vissuto nel Monastero dal XVII al XX secolo e sono soltanto venti, il che ne esalta l’esclusività. Offriamo alle coppie esclusivi trattamenti benessere nella nostra Spa e presso il ristorante è possibile degustare piatti d’autore curati dallo Chef Christoph Bob. A completare la nostra offerta, un servizio impeccabile, attento e discreto nello stesso tempo, che vezzeggia le coppie, giorno dopo giorno.

Who are the special guests who have hosted at Monastero Santa Rosa? B. Sharma: The first illustrious guest of the Hotel, right after the opening day in May 2012, were Prince Albert of Monaco and Princess Charlene. Today, Monastero Santa Rosa is popular with international celebrities looking for truly exclusive places and refined and authentic atmospheres. To protect their privacy, we prefer not to divulge the names of our important guests and it is something they really appreciate.

Quali sono gli special guest che hanno soggiornato presso il Monastero Santa Rosa? B. Sharma: Il primo illustrissimo ospite dell’Hotel, all’indomani dell’apertura nel maggio 2012, è stato il Principe Alberto di Monaco con la Principessa Charlene. Oggi il Monastero Santa Rosa è frequentato da celebrities internazionali alla ricerca di luoghi realmente esclusivi e di atmosfere raffinate e autentiche. Proprio per tutelare la loro privacy, preferiamo non divulgarne i nomi dei nostri importanti ospiti, ed è una cosa che apprezzano tantissimo.

What do international guests expect and what is the most common compliment you receive? F. Colantuoni: International guests arrive laden with expectations and wishful to stay away from the world for a few days, in order to fully appreciate the many beautiful things that our location and the Amalfi Coast are able to show. The most common comment is based on the concept of “luxury of simplicity”, which is the same chosen by the Monastery to characterise its proposal.

Cosa si aspettano gli ospiti internazionali e qual è Il complimento più ricorrente che ricevete? F. Colantuoni: Gli ospiti internazionali arrivano carichi di aspettative e con il desiderio di isolarsi per qualche giorno dal mondo per poter apprezzare in pieno le tante cose belle che la nostra location e la Costiera Amalfitana sono in grado di offrire. Il commento più diffuso è improntato al concetto del “lusso della semplicità”, che è lo stesso scelto dal Monastero per connotare la sua proposta.
