9mm AEK-919K KASHTAN
Mission
A sighting system is an open type device. A flip-type notch rear sight is graduated at 50 m or 100 m. A metal extendable butt is fitted with an adjustable butt plate used to increase stability of the weapon in combat. Rounds are fed from a 20- or 30-round box magazine. If necessary, the sub-machine gun can be fitted with a suppressor, a laser target designator and a collimating sight. Cutting-edge technologies are employed for producing Kashtan. The receiver is cold stamped, while the barrel has polygonal rifling. The trigger assembly and pistol grip are made of hardstress polymers. Kashtan has passed official trials carried out in accordance with requirements of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The light-weight and small-size AEK-919K Kashtan sub-machine gun is designed for arming special operations forces of the Interior Ministry and for self-defence.
Features The sub-machine gun is a bolt-action one. The bolt telescopes over the chamber end of the barrel to reduce overall length of the weapon. A trigger mechanism is employed to fire both single shots and bursts. A cocking handle also used as a selector lever is located on the left side of the receiver.
