The new C-Arm at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care allows surgeons to perform procedures in real time with better outcomes for patients It gets its name from its C-shaped arm, connected to an x-ray source on one end and a detector on the other It will be used for orthopedic surgeries as well as urology procedures which have both seen a steady increase in cases at Delta Hospital this past year.

“We are all very grateful for the support that we have received from Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation and the community of Delta over the years, ” says Dr Matt Lewington, orthopaedic surgeon, Delta Hospital. “It is so important to have up-to-date, state-of-the-art equipment so that people from the community can stay in the community for treatment. This new C-arm provides the latest technology and has a very low radiation dose which is safer for patients.

It is also significantly more reliable which will allow us to perform more surgeries, more accurately.”

Foundation executive director Lisa Hoglund said, “The Foundation is so proud to play a role in transforming healthcare in Delta as we help to provide our healthcare workers with the very best equipment possible With the incredible, continued support from our donors, we can ensure the best health care possible for our community.”
