Boundar y Bay Airport’s skies were busy andblue at Delta’s annualairshow Saturday afternoon.

“We were very pleased with the turnoutthis year,” said Kathy deLisser, general managerof Alpha Aviation, which produced theshow in partnership withthe City of Delta

She estimated attendance at 20,000and saidwhat seems to be unique about theshow isthe audienceengagement, something noted by performers.

“They feltthecrowd was havinga real good time It wasa fun event for thecrowd andthey showed it to the performers, so that’s cool,”deLisser said.

One walk-in clinic, two days a week, for South Delta

South Delta residents may have to drivea bitifthey want to find a walk-in clinic to help them withtheirachesand pains

The only clinicoperating in the area istheLark Medical Clinicinsidethe Walmart at Tsawwassen Commonsand it only takes patients two days a week, withphone calls required to book an appointment.

That’s down fromthree walk-in clinicspreviously, two of which closed because the family physiciansoperating them couldn’t keepup withthe demandsof a walk-in clinic.

Geri McGrath, executivedirector, ofthe DeltaDivision of Family Practice, saidit’s hard to say how many walk-in clinics are needed for South Delta, adding that ideally, thecommunity coulduse anurgent and primary care centre.

“I don’tknow that we’ll get one, sowe need to be able somehow to support our unattached (withnofamily doctors) in thecommunity,” she said.

Urgent andprimary care centreshelp people withnon-emer-

gency issues, such as sprains, cuts, or burns, achesand pains, withtheaimof reducing the demandsonhospitalemergency departments.

So far, 35UPCCs have opened aroundtheprovince butthere isno word on putting onein South Delta.

“We keep asking. I don’t know why we’ve been passed over,” McGrath said. “Maybe we’re too small, I’m not sure. However, Mission has oneand they’re smallerthan we are.”

Fraser Health said last month that moreUPCCs are being established and that communities withoutthemare being considered.

The DeltaDivisionof Family Practicecovers Ladner, Tsawwassenand Tsawwassen First Nation, with acombined populationofmore than50,000.

McGrath saidthehope isthe primary care network, now in the early stagesofplanning for South Delta, couldhelp people whoare still waiting to find a family physician.

A primary care network gathers healthprofessionalsinto a group, usually based on geography, allowing quicker patient referralsandmore streamlined

andquicker care

Deltaand Abbotsford are two ofthe last areas intheFraser Health region not to have a primary care network Seventyeight such networks have had fundingapproved and have been, or are being established around B.C.

RichmondDivision of Family

Practice has three primary care networks thathave beenoperating forfive years and has as two urgent andprimary care centres However, there are no clinics availableon a complete walk-in basis in Richmond either

Jennifer West, executivedirector ofthe Richmonddivi-

sion, said sincethe pandemic, people cannolonger just walk into a clinicin Richmondand that to herknowledge, there are noother walk-in clinicsin Richmond, withfourtimesthe populationof South Delta

Instead, there are three clinics availablefor appointmentson short notice, but patients must be already attached to oneof those clinics

“I thinkthe situationisas critical everywhere, across the Lower Mainland, andacross B.C. Primary care iscertainly in crisis,” Westsaid.

McGrath saidinput from thecommunity in South Delta showsthat peopleare looking for a doctorafterhours.

“We’ve heard that loudand clear,” she said.

South Deltanow has 44family physicians, two more than last year, although a fewdoctors are set to retire.

“It ebbsanditflows,” McGrath said.

However, inthe last yearand a half, thedivision has found doctors formore than5,000 people. If peopleneed nonemergent care they need to go to anothercommunity, or to a UPCC inanotherarea.

Denis Lacharite pleaded guilty March6 to committing an indecent act in July 2022 at BoundaryBay Regional Park

JEREMYHAINSWORTH

A 63-year-old man, whopleaded guilty to indecent exposure afterexposing himself to several teenage girls at Centennial Beach, has been banned from the park where theincident occurred.

In Surrey Provincial Court July 11, Judge Daniel Weatherly gave Denis Lacharite a conditionaldischarge anda year’s probationafterhepleaded guilty March6 to committing anindecent act in a public place

Lacharite had been charged with two counts each ofcommitting an indecent actin a publicplaceandexposing genitals to a personunder16 years of age.

The sentence cameafter a joint submissionfromCrown prosecutorKristen LeNobleanddefence lawyer ZainAli.

LeNoble saidtheoffence happened July 14,2022, at Centennial Beach, at Boundary Bay Regional Park.

“Mr. Lacharite was observed by three

young children handling his genitals whilein public,” LeNoble told Weatherly.

But,she said, a psychiatric report said there was no sexual purpose ormotivation to Lacharite’s actions. She said there is “almostno risk” that he would re-offend.

LeNobledetaileda victimimpact statement made by oneofthegirls. She saidtheincident was traumatic, that the girl feltobjectified.

“It isnot somethingI ever want to go through againas a teenage girl ever,” the statement said.

LeNoble saidLacharite’s guilty plea saved the girlsfromthetrauma of having totestifyincourt.

Ali saidhis client has sought helpfor mentalhealth issues sincetheincident. He noted Lacharite had suffered a head injury, andhis symptomscould have contributed to theincident.

“They shouldn’t have seenwhat they did seethat day,” Ali saidofthe teens.

In granting thedischarge, Weatherly detailed theconditions.

“You are not to go to Boundary Bay Regional Park,” Weatherly said to Lacharite.

“Is there anythingI said you don’t understand?”

“I understand,” Lacharite said.

The court heard Lacharite has no

TransLink seeks publicinput for new, fastbuses

TransLinkisasking the public to give its two cents’ worth about betterand faster buses, but itmight take awhile before such service reaches South Delta

The transportation agency has asked for publicinput, viaa survey, on itsfirst Bus RapidTransitlines, three of which have beenannounced;for King George Boulevard, (from Surrey to White Rock) Langley Centre to Haney Place Mall; and Metrotown to the North Shore.

Bus RapidTransitusesdedicated bus lanes withtraffic-light priority so buses can zoomalong regardless oftraffic.

The engagement willensure customerfeedback isconsidered as part of ongoing BRT planning, said a release June26.

Coun. Rod Binder saidTransLink has shown that it waitsfordensity to arrive before improving transit service.

He saidthenewR6 rapid bus on Scott

Roadshowsthat TransLinkisliving up to its commitment to prioritize service improvementsasdensity grows.

Andasdensity grows South Delta could be moving upthepriority list.

“Certainly, thathasn’t beenthefactor because there really isn’tthatmuch density inthe South Deltaarea, in spite of Tsawwassen MillsandTFN,” he said.

Binderdoesn’t want to make any guarantees but saidthat TransLink has shown that it’s putting resources into densified areas.

He understandsthat people want infrastructure andamenities before adding population but the sequencing ofthese things happens to be, buildtax base, which then builds revenue, which then pays forinfrastructure.

“The sequencing ofthese events just happens to be theformula that’s relatively fixed,” he said.

“Andit’s not thefieldofdreamsand youbuilditandthey willcome.”

Binder saidthat perhaps at one point,

Deltadodged thefew days ofbroiling hot weather last week, possibly because the populationisadjusting to warmer B.C. summers.

Dep. Chief Dave Wood, with Delta Fire and Emergency Services, saidhe hasn’theard ofany heat-related calls caused by thehigh temperatures.

Temperatures climbed to 26.5 C on July7 at Tsawwassen Beach, according to Environment Canada.

“Everyone seemed to bebetterprepared,” Wood said.

The city did a good job getting out the

message and informing residents about how to prepare and respondwhere cooling centresare located, headded.

Last Wednesday’s (July,10)forest-fire danger rating in Delta was set at moderate and was to remain at that level for the weekend.

However, asof last Friday at noon, there wasa ban onall campfiresacross B.C., exceptfor Haida Gwaii.

MetroVancouveralready hasa yearround fire ban.

According to the release by the Ministry of Forests, there have beenhot and sometimes record-breaking temperatures inthe past week, with 149 fires currently burning in B.C. Anyonefound

there could be a high-capacity bus line, from South Delta Recreation Centre in Tsawwassen to theLadner bus loopon Harvest Drive.

“Thetiming ofthat thoughisthegiant question mark,” he said.

The BRT linesare part ofthe Access for Everyone Plan, which includes anexpress bus servicefromthe Tsawwassenferry terminal to the Canada Linein Richmond.

Binder pointed outthat anew tunnel isneeded beforethat service, otherwiseexpress buses will just get bogged down intheexisting George Massey Tunnel.

“The tunnel … isalways going to be a limiting factor, so untilthat’s resolved I just can’t see transit making any changes,” he said.

While South Delta residentsare nowhere nearany oftheoftheplanned Bus RapidTransitlines, South Delta commuters could stilluse BRT inconjunction withothertransit services, “so

violating the ban could be fined $1,150 and may have topay anadministrative penalty ofup to $10,000.

That means thefourfire rings in Centennial Beach in Tsawwassenare also closed to fires, Wood noted.

The message isalso out that fires arenotallowed onthe beach along the causeway to B.C. Ferriesor on Tsawwassen Beach.

“We’re still getting some beach fires onthe causeway but it’s definitely diminishing. “We’re continuing our patrolsnightly,” headded.

Whenthefire-danger rating moves to high, firefighters will start patrolling parks whileonly propane barbecues will be allowed forcooking, meaning no barbecue briquetsor charcoalare allowed.

Ifthefire danger rating goes to

theirfeedback isimportant to us,” said TransLink spokesperson Dan Mountain.

TransLinkismostly looking forfeedbackabout would be themost-desired amenitiesandfeaturesfor a BRT service.

Other parts oftheplanincludenew or better bus routesin Tsawwassen, Centennial Beach and Southlands, “as wellasimprovements to the major bikeway network to betterconnect South Delta to the rest ofthe region’s cycling infrastructure,” Mountain said.

He added that TransLinkexpands service based on current andfuture ridershipdemand,“which is based on many factors, but isprimarily based on current density andgrowthtargets set by municipalities.”

But expansionplans can overtimeas the region’s needs change.

“Changes to 10-year plansare commonasmore specificinvestment plans withshorter timelinesare developed,” he said.

Acting Insp James Sandberg, with the Delta Police Department, reported the same situation withno callsofheatrelated incidents recently.

However, between June 1 and July 11, police received seven calls about dogs leftin parked cars.

Police had to enter two ofthe cars. All thedogsare OK, and police spoke to the owners.

Convictedkiller Lord gets review for fullparole

An AppealDivision has ordered a reviewofthe Parole Board of Canada’s decision to denyfull parolefor a 50-yearold man convicted in taking part in a gruesomedouble-murder in Tsawwassenthree decades ago.

Derik Lord’s request forfull parole had been denied following a hear-

ing earlierthis year. His day parole was continued in Januar y 2024, at which time a panel hearing had been ordered for a full parole review.

Afterhisbidfor full parole was denied, Lord submitteda request to the AppealDivision to reviewthe board’s decision.

Lord and hisfriend David Muir were hired in1990 by Darren

Huenemann tokill Huenemann’s mother and grandmother, Sharon Huenemannand Doris Leatherbarrow, so Darren Huenemann could get an inheritance The women were killed intheir Tsawwassen home.

Allthree young men were convicted offirstdegree murderin1992.

Lord and Muir were both sentenced to lifein prison with no chance

of parolefor10 years. Huenemann received a life sentence with no chance of parolefor25 years. Lord, who continues toclaimhis innocence, was granted day parole with conditions in March 2020 and thathas beencontinuing at sixmonthintervals

This week, the Parole Board of Canada Appeal Division released its determinationthat a reviewofthe board’s decisionshould be held to determine whetherthe board’s decision was reasonable.

The AppealDivision ordered the new review

by way of a hearing, finding that the board did not adequately demonstrate how it considered all available information and why full parolepresented a higher riskto society.

It was also noted the written decision’s must be clear andunderstandable and reflect a fair analysis ofall relevant information.

The AppealDivision also noted that, “Of particularimportance in a case such as yours isthat denying one’s responsibility for a crime cannot, initself, preclude one from being granted

parole.”

The AppealDivision concluded that the board’s decisionis unreasonable, but also ordering thecontinuationof the board’s decision to deny full paroleuntil thecompletionofthe ordered review.

The victims’ family continues to object to Lord’s release.

Muir was granted day parolein April 2002 and full parole a year later.

Huenemann, who now goes by the name Darren Gowen, was granted day paroleon six-month intervals starting August 2022.

New removalpolicy for citytrees

sg yarm ati@delta-optimi st .c om

Council has approved a newtree removal policy for city-owned trees that residentsor businesses want removed.

A staff report notesthat the city’s urban forestry divisionintheengineering department receives approximately 1,500 service requestsfrom residentsand businesses every year regarding trees from city property, expressinga wide range ofconcerns, from safety of large branches, conflicts with a home’s driveway and sap dripping on to vehicles

The policy establishes circumstances that warrant considerationofcity tree removal andcircumstancesthat donot.

“Forexample, thecity wouldconsider removing a city tree ifitisassessed

ashigh risk orunsafe and cannot be mitigated througharboriculture practices ;ifitis dead, diseased beyondexpectationof recovery, or structurally unsound;or ifitis damagingadriveway and roots cannot be removed withoutimpacting tree stability. The city would generally notconsider removinga healthy city tree ifitisshedding sap on vehicles, blocking scenic views, ordeemed aesthetically unpleasing,” the report explains

The report adds the policy seeks to strike a “common sense” balance in responding to legitimate concerns about city treeswhile at the same time recognizing Delta’s long-term priority to protectandgrow the urban tree canopy.

Anupdate report last yearon Delta’s Urban

Forest Strategy noted that a geospatialinventor y of city-owned trees inthe urban forest is a priority actionitem.

Key benefitsofan inventor y include improved asset management, guidanceforfuture tree planting and public outreach

The inventor y project wouldinvolvea fieldbased survey ofcity trees inurban areas, focusing on streetand park specimentrees.

Data would be collected about each tree and thetree’s location would be recorded on a map.

Staffcouldthenquery the database to better understandtheurban forest as a system, findfuture tree planting locations anddeterminewhich speciesare doing wellor poorly in a changing climate, the report notes.

What’s with thefireworks?

Editor’s Note

IAN

JACQ UES

Thereare some incredibly selfish individuals in our community who have no common sense.

Last weekend, forno apparent reasons,a minifireworks show went off afew blocksfrom whereI live on Scott Road,in NorthDelta Twicethe fireworks sent offina spanof a fewminutes. Then stopped and started up again.

I, apparently, wasn’ttheonly one wondering whyfireworks were being set off, as a numberof NorthDelta residents posted inthe NorthDelta Community Corner Facebook group asking the samequestion. Apparently, more fireworks went offon Monday night somewhere in NorthDelta too

In case you didn’t know this, fireworks are banned intheCity of Delta. So how these residentsthought that this wasa good idea, orallowed,is beyondme.

There are also other possible impacts as openfiresare banned everywhere in Delta Withthe recent hot, dr yspell, thefire danger rating inthecommunity continues toclimb, so that meansthe possibility ofanerrant flame froma careless firecracker oropenfire could spark a majorfire inaninstant.

Obviously, those who chose to have their impromptufireworks show they don’tknow the rules, and likelydon’t care, butI bet they would care ifthey wereresponsible for starting a major forest fire in our community.

Delta, it seems isnot alone inthis stupid behaviouras last Fridayagroupof 200-plus teensin Nanaimo started what could have been a major blaze in a popular forest/ beach area during a summer party. That blaze tookfirefighters more than six hours to knock down.

Government officials in Nanaimoare none too pleased andare planninga public awareness campaign to reinforcethe fire dangers that are present.

Maybe Delta should do the same.

Reminiscingofsummerspast

My colleague Ingrid Abbott mused on seasonal memoriesin her July 11 column.

Withthe warm weather uponus,I too feel compelled to reminisceof summers past.

The recent heat saw me indulge in my first fudgsicle in at least 50 years. It was spectacular!

I wasn’t much of a fudgsicle guy inthe carefree summers of my youth -more the popsicle type Orange was my go-to flavour. Not overly ambitious palette wise,I was more of a popsicle purist, I suppose. I am so old that popsicles then came with two sticks and hada crease inthe middle so you could smack itonthecornerofthe store building to break itin half andshare with a pal.

Such ingenuity wasa marvel inthe day and wasa great way to keep two kidscoolfor

eight cents.

Fudgsicles, drumsticks, revellos andthe like were more inthe 12- to 15-cent range and were a little out of my price range becauseI needed that extra nickel or two for a paper bag of penny candy- additionalbike riding fuel!

The frozentreatsandthe penny candy were all readily available at the corner store andin my neighbourhood, there were a lot ofthem back then. My parents would often

send my brothers and I “up to the store” for milk, bread andother last-minute necessities.

The corner store wasa key destinationon daily summer biking sojourns

A favourite haunt of ours was Spanish Banks for all the obvious reasons.

We would not ride our bikes to the beach asthe crow flew, however. No, we would plan our route via a complex set of layovers ; Tuftsfor aquick Freezieand some gum, Blue Moonfor a pea shooterand a bag of peasandthen Bings, forthe final frozenenergy snack and more candy before landing at our destination.

The corner store wasa marvelofcommunity convenienceand althoughthey have beendwindling in numbers overthe years, withnew community zoning inplace, they are poised fora comeback in many forms. I’m all forthat.

Descending intodictatorship

Editor:

StefanLabbé’s June25articlequotes the federal government lawyeras stating that the Ecojustice case isfundamentally flawed He then states, “Only the governor-in-council,notthis court, is equipped to evaluate such considerations.”

That raisesaninteresting question. Can the cabinet(acting as governor in council)arbitrarily ignore acts of Parliament? Clearly not

Ours is a parliamentar y democracy and if cabinet can ignore its own laws and statutes, we risk descending into a dictatorship

Not only that, but cabinetalso

ignored its own government scientists who, along withotherinternational expertsin wetlandsand wetland ecology, have proventhat the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 project’s significant adverse environmental effects will be immediate, continuous, permanent, irreparable andunmitigated.

Fortunately, Canada’s system of government has three branches. The legislative branch passes laws, the executive implementsthemandthe judicial interpretsthem.

Let’s hope the judge understands that, even if the government’s lawyer doesnot

Re: Intersection improvements (56th Street and 14B Avenue)

According to communicationfrom theCity of Delta, work has started to addanothertrafficlight on56th Street. Thislight will be at 14B Avenue andthenorthernaccess to ViewCrescent and will be located 250m southofthelight at 16th Avenueand250mnorth of onelocated at Windsor Woods and View Crescent.

While56th Streetis a busy route and vehicles needing to turnlefton to 56th Street may be faced with challenging turns, there are alternatives.

Residentsinthe Highland Park neighbourhood candrive to 16th Avenue, via 55A Streetand ViewCrescent

residents, similarly, can drive south to thelights there.

Adding anotherlight will worsentheflow of trafficinthe 800m stretch of56th Street, from12th to 16th avenues, that already featuresfourtrafficlights

One also has to wonder at thecost ofthis project to the taxpayerin a time offiscal restraint.

If Deltais serious about improving traffic andensuring safety for pedestriansand cyclists, work must be done with theprovince to improve theflow oftrafficfrom Hwy.17 southon to 56th Street.

Sincethe reconfiguration, these dualleft-turn bays have beenincreased to 500m each and can holdand release 200 or more cars per traffic

cycle. The “pig inthe python”effectontraffic can be witnessed daily during evening rushhour as cars turnon to 56th Streetand slowly drive from red light to red light, asthey disburse into variousneighbourhoods.

There are many days where southboundtrafficon 56this backed up from12th, past Windsor Woods.

Perhaps thisis simply foreshadowing ofwhat willlikely be a push to replace many oftheolder apartment buildingsand homes just west of56th Street with six-storey apartmentsand townhouses.

I cannotimaginewhat anadditional10,000 residentslocated at this main intersection willdointhe future.

Don’tcutdownthetrees

Editor :

Wow,the proposed plan tocutdown trees in Winskill has struck a ner ve in our community and so itshould Anybody who dares tocutdowna tree inhis back yard is attacked by cityhall experts and almost arrested

Thisargument that some ofthetrees are 40 years oldand have past their best before date is

ridiculous.

I agree, many ofthe trees are cottonwoods, very soft, fast-growing trees that should not be there inthe first place They are dangerous in a wind, andafterany storm thegroundislittered withbrokenbranches, many largerthan most trees inthe area.

It isnotthe age ofthe tree that should be the deciding factor, but the

species. These cottonwoods should selectively be replaced by others that have a longer lifeand remain stronger Any tree expert orarborist should know this.

Asfarasextra parking isconcerned, why not at the South Delta Rec Centre, or build a twostorey parking garage, not cut down trees.

Chief Neil Dubord expressed his appreciationfor reaching this milestone.

“We are grateful for the work done to get to the approval stagefor a youth hubinDelta,” said Dubord. “We look for ward to thenext steps in solidifying the services andopening thedoor to provide a much-needed wrap-around approach to youthhealthand wellness in Delta.”

The Delta Culinary Corner: SushiExplosion!

Whenitcomes to Japanese food, there are so many deliciousdishes tochoose from, making itone of my all-time favourite meals to enjoy when I go out toeat. But although some may thinkthat sushiis sushiand will be the same everywhere, the reality is that dishes and price may vary from restaurant to restaurant.

I decided totest for myself, so I ordered a classic family favourite, a Dynamite Rollfromthree Ladner sushi restaurants.

cado.I was impressed!

Next, we have the rollthat I found was more budgetfriendly from Go-Go Sushi, coming in at $6. It was the classic smaller versionof a roll, simpleand not too crazy. This rollconsisted of a niceamount of cucumberandprawn. I foundthe size was great forsmaller mouthsand would beperfect forthose who may not be asadventurous eaters inthe sushi world quite yet.

Thenfinally, we have Sapporo Kitchen withtheir rollcoming in at $8.

A simple roll can’t vary thatmuch can it? To my surprise, when I opened the boxes of each order, noneofthem looked at allidentical. How exciting! Let thetasting begin!

Let’s start withthemost expensive, coming in at $8.45from Maguro Sushi. Right away thefirst impressionleft my mouth watering. The texture was so freshand the rollitselflooked so saucy and exploded withcolour. There were popsofthegreen cucumbercontrasting so beautifully against the orange ofthe yam. The large piecesofprawn meltin yourmouth, cooked and yetnot soggy and cuddled up against somefresh avo-

Opening thisorder,I was instantly hit withan overflowing amount ofcrab falling out the sidesofthe seaweed.Fresh slicesof avocadoandprawn were imbedded into the crab The quantity as well as quality was very niceand very fresh.

I’m happy to say allinall, you can not go wrong with a classic dynamite rollaroundLadner

Asfor a favourite, I am a moreis more girl and can’tdenya tasty sauce, therefore my preference was Maguro’s dynamite roll. Thisonehitall the spots formeandblew my mind!

The festivalopened on Wednesday, July 17.

More than400,000 sunflower seeds have beenplanted inthe farm’s picturesquefields, which borders the Pacific Ocean in Boundar y Bay.

Last year ’s debut edition ofthefestival wasa great success, says Jenna Kelly, whoplanted the sunflowers alongsideher sister, Nicole

“Everybody who attended loved itand saidit was so beautiful, and they were thankful that we didit,” she says.

Kelly Family Farms is not only oneof Delta’s most historic farms, but

oneofitsmost historic enterprises of any kind.

James Kelly, Jenna’s great-grandfather, established thefarm in1896. It remainsfamily owned andoperated to this day; Jenna is part ofthefourth generationof Kellystending thefarm andgrowing itscrops, alongside sib-

lingsBrian,Laurenand Nicole, and parents Brent and Jenny.

Yet despite thefarm’s 126-yearhistory, it wasn’t until2016that Jenna began growing sunflowers alongsidelongtime crops such as potatoes, beets, cranberriesand barley.

Jenna initially grew sunflowers “just forfun.” Eventually, she continues, “I thought it would be niceifother people couldcome out and enjoy them. It had been a dream ofminefor a long time.”

But family obligations (she married in2016and

now has three children), thealready consuming demandsofthe farm, and the pandemic pushed back her dream yearafter year until,in 2023, “I finally didit!”

The Kelly family aims to continually introduce new attractions to the festival.

This year, inaddition to the awe-inspiring sight ofthousandsof sunflowers, guests can take part in Paint Night (Aug. 9) andcreate their own artisticmemento ofthe farm; anda night market (Aug 16)offering local artisanproducts such as pottery, baked goods, jewelr y and handmade soaps.

As wellasprovidinga funfamily outing, Jenna hopesthefestival will help guestsdevelop a betterunderstanding of “how agriculture works, andhow it changes and how we continue to adapt to it.”

The Kelly Family Farms Sunflower Festival runsfrom July 17until anas-yet-undetermined date, Tuesdaysto Sundays from10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admissionis$15 per person. The farm is located at 394696 St For more information, visit kellyfamilyfarmsinc.com.

The Apostle Paul said this to somephilosophers in Athens. Prior to thishe had been walking throughthecity and noticed that it was filled with idols madeof wood and stone carved by men.

He was disturbed that they were worshiping these man-made thingsand went to the synagogue toteach about the good newsof Jesus. A group of Stoicand Epicurean philosophers wanted to know more, so he told themthat while he was wandering throughtheircity,he noticed aninscriptionon an altar that said, “To an Unknown God.”
