INTRO

Hello and a very warm welcome to the inaugural Ducati Cambridge newsletter.

2024 has been a standout year for us, with some fantastic events and exciting models arriving. The rainy weather certainly hasn’t stopped us from bringing the biker community together. The We Ride As One event was a highlight for me. Organised by our local Cambridge Ducati Owners Club, it involved a ride up to Peterborough Cathedral and a nice ride across

OUR DEDICATED SCRAMBLER DISPLAY AT DUCATI CAMBRIDGE

Cambridgeshire with some like-minded Ducatisti.

Another highlight has to be our Ducati Roadshow, where we joined our friends at Bikestop with the ‘Pod’ and a fleet of bikes to give over 100 test rides over the weekend. It definitely looked like Ducati had taken over the old town in Stevenage!

A big thank you to all involved in these events, with special mention to Paul and Steve at the Ducati Owners Club, and Martin and his team at Bikestop, for making these days so memorable. Keep your eyes peeled for more events in 2025!

Speaking of which… Ducati have been telling us 2025 is going to be a big year!

‘WE RIDE AS ONE’

EVENT, ORGANISED BY LOCAL CAMBRIDGE DUCATI OWNERS

So big, in fact, that they had to start their new model launches early with the announcement of the seventh generation Panigale. All I can say is that it’s spectacular in the flesh, so come and see it for yourself!

A special mention has to go to Ducati’s move into the world of Motocross, with the launch of the 450 Desmo – due summer 2025 – after a year of racing (and winning!) in the Italian Championship in 2024. It’s a little way off, but if everything goes to plan, the team at Cambridge will be getting very muddy!

We were thrilled to win a Ducati global award for customer satisfaction, which means so much to the team as it’s voted

on by customers and awarded directly by Ducati Italy. It’s been a tough year for dealers up and down the country, but thanks to our great customers – who not only continue to return to us, but have also recommended us to family and friends – we’re looking at a bigger and better year in 2025. Thank you so much for your continued support!

Let’s look forward to an amazing 2025 with even more stunning bikes!

MEET THE

JON, Centre Manager

Favourite Ducati: This week it’s the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak! But that could change with the new model launches!

Favourite road trip: Riding down to the Pyrenees on a Streetfighter V4 – but any national park in France works for me! One of my favourite rides is the N106 from La Grand-Combe, then picking up the Gorge du Tarn on the way to Millau on a dry day with sticky tyres!

Fun fact: I am afraid to admit, I name all of my bikes!

NEIL,

Retail Sales Manager

Favourite Ducati: My favourite Ducati is probably the unaffordable dream, I’m afraid – as I would really love to own a Desmosedici RR if I could ever afford one. But then, who wouldn’t?!

Favourite road trip: I’ve been to the Isle of Man TT twice; it was amazing!

Fun fact: I’ve been mates with Richard Shook (Shooky), one of the mechanics here, since we were both 16 years old. It’s been great to see our careers grow side by side.

THE TEAM

RICHARD, Senior Technician

Favourite Ducati: The Ducati 999.

Tell us about your role: I’m a senior technician at Cambridge Ducati and have worked here from day one, having previously worked at Peterborough Ducati.

Fun fact: There are far too many to list, which says something in itself!

LUKE, Product Specialist

Favourite Ducati: Ducati 1198R Corse.

Next road trip: I’ve booked my first camping road trip to Wales on the bike. I’m sure you’ll all hear all about it when I’m back!

Fun fact: I started riding motorbikes at four years old (don’t try this at home!).

DAVID, Sales Executive

Favourite Ducati: DesertX Discovery.

Favourite road trip: The NC500 – my favourite part was the A87 from Invergarry to the Kyle of Lochalsh.

Fun fact: I passed my motorcycle test six days after my 17th birthday and went straight out and bought a Yamaha RD350LC – and I lived to tell the tale!

MULTISTRADA V4 MY2025

The new Ducati Multistrada V4 is for those who want to comfortably explore all paths, without compromising on the sports attitude that distinguishes every motorcycle built in Borgo Panigale.

Offering more performance and more efficiency, as well as being more technologically advanced, the Multistrada V4 amplifies your riding experience, highlighting the pleasure of travel in its every detail.

Here, the team at Ducati Cambridge give you the full low-down…

New era, limitless new adventures

One of the most powerful adventure bikes is back! The 2025 Multistrada V4 boasts updates across the V4, V4 S and Pikes Peak models, bringing smart technology and precision engineering to the fore, for a ride that’s both thrilling and refined.

It may look like the same old beast, but don’t be fooled – this bike is packed with stealthy upgrades beneath the bodywork that make it the best ride yet! We’re talking a series of incremental tweaks that make a world of difference – the swingarm pivot is positioned 1mm higher, amplifying the suspension’s anti-squat effect for more stable riding. What’s more, pillions have more room thanks to the side panniers and top case supports being shifted back.

Ducati say the Multistrada V4 marks the start of a new era. Key upgrades include the extended cylinder deactivation on the 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine, now active in motion to reduce fuel consumption by up to 6%, boosting fuel efficiency that’s Euro 5+ approved while retaining its impressive 170hp.

“The power is as easily controlled by unhurried touring enthusiasts as it is easily exploited by thrill seekers.” – Ducati

The automatic lowering device makes the bike more manageable at low speeds –ideal for urban manoeuvres. An enhanced braking system and the new Ducati Vehicle Observer feature add layers of precision and safety, adapting the bike’s performance to various loads and riding conditions.

Standard equipment includes the iconic Ducati Red colour scheme, silver callipers and 120/70-19 and 170/60-17-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli SCORPION Trail II tyres. It’s also equipped with MotoGP technology – the counter-rotating crankshaft. This innovation acts ‘against’ the gyroscopic inertia of the wheels, improving handling and riding precision.

So, whether you’re chasing the open road or carving through tight corners, the 2025 Ducati Multistrada V4 is built to deliver an unforgettable ride.

Discover the world like never before

Overall, Ducati’s 2025 Multistrada V4 lineup – whether in the all-road-ready V4 or the adrenaline-pumping Pikes Peak –reinforces Ducati’s dedication to blending advanced technology with no-holds-barred riding passion.

Come experience it for yourself and feel the exhilaration first-hand!

Command the roads to the very summit

It’s safe to say that we’re very excited about the 2025 Multistrada V4. But the Pikes Peak? This bike is an adventurer’s dream! First conceived as a faster and meaner version of Multistrada V4, the 2025 version doesn’t disappoint.

Named in tribute to the legendary race, the Pikes Peak has always been the Ducati for those who love the sportier side of the Multistrada, enjoying its performance on the twists and turns of mountain passes. The 2025 version shares the electronic and mechanical evolutions of the latest Multistrada V4. But it’s sharper, lighter and crafted for serious curves with Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension and – two Pikes Peak calling cards – the single-sided swingarm and a 17-inch front wheel.

Inspired by MotoGP, the Pikes Peak offers Race Mode: a tuned quick-shifter and fullthrottle throttle-grip response, giving you race-level precision for the road. The racing nature is also underlined by the headturning motorsport-inspired livery.

THE [TECH] REVIEW

Increased passenger comfort

Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones shared. The side panniers and top case supports have been shifted back, giving the passenger more room and greater freedom to move, keeping longdistance rides comfortable and inviting for two.

Fuel-saving rear bank deactivation

Fuel up and go further! This smart feature significantly reduces fuel consumption by automatically switching off cylinders when full power isn’t needed, making every journey more efficient and sustainable.

Higher double-sided swingarm

The swingarm pivot is positioned 1mm higher, amplifying the suspension’s anti-squat effect to improve riding stability and precision, especially at full load – so you can feel the control even on those intense, full-throttle rides.

Enhanced Enduro Riding Mode

Take on the toughest trails with confidence. The Enduro Riding Mode has been enhanced with a new dedicated power mode that optimises power, traction control and ABS to make offroad riding easier. The new Riding Mode Wet, on the other hand, is designed for wet terrain.

Experience next-level suspension that thinks with you! The DSS EVO semi-active system reads road conditions in real time, adjusting for speed bumps, potholes and more to deliver maximum comfort and stability. 4 5 6

Front-end view

The redesigned front end isn’t just sleek – it’s engineered for better aerodynamics, shielding you and your passenger from wind for a smoother, more intense ride. The more aggressive lines give the bike a dynamic sporty look, while the full LED headlamp with cornering light has been updated to eliminate shadowy areas near the front wheel.

Even more intelligent suspension

SEASONAL TIPS

Braving the elements: safely enjoying winter on two wheels

While we wait for the warmer months to roll back around, winter can still offer some fantastic riding days – so don’t tuck the bike away just yet! But it’s always worth reminding ourselves of some good practices…

Clean as a whistle

Cleaning your bike becomes more important at this time of year, if you want to keep it looking as powerful as it feels on the road. The winter elements can be fierce – from harsh UV rays to acid rain and dirt, grime and pollutants…not to mention if the roads have been salted!

Remember that your bike won’t dry like it does in the warmer months, even if it’s in a garage, so it’s well worth investing in a bike drier to blow the moisture off (just be extra careful around a switch gear that you’re not blowing water into the controls).

Protect your shine

With conventional waxes washing away layer by layer, it’s well worth considering protective coatings to look after your bike. We use GardX, a ceramic coating for the paintwork and the top-rated XCP anticorrosion treatment. It also comes with a care pack to reapply after cleaning to keep the protection topped up.

On the road again: our standout pre-owned Ducatis

When it comes to used bikes, the standout ones are what gets a crowd of staff gathering round within minutes of it turning up! We have three bikes in stock at the moment that had the team rushing over:

1. Panigale v2 Bayliss – Take a beautiful Panigale and add top-level suspension with a paint job that’s simple yet so effective!

2. Monster 1200S – The last of these models in the black-on-black livery. Throw in the Termi exhaust and you have a bike that will be timeless!

3. Streetfighter V4SP – The ultimate road performance bike, with lots of tasteful accessories added to its already high spec by the previous owner.

Visit Ducati Cambridge to see these gorgeous models up close and personal!

Keep it moving

With all that extra cleaning you’re doing, don’t forget the chain! Remember, the best time to apply chain lube is after a ride – not before it – while the chain is still warm. It also gives the lube time to dry before your next ride, reducing the chances of fling. Make sure you get to the really awkward inner side plates.

Get a grip

And finally, consider a tyre change. The sports tyres that you’ve enjoyed all summer won’t work as well in the colder conditions, and the additional wet performance of something like a sports/touring tyre will help with the damp spots in the shaded areas. Don’t forget, we can always fit your old tyres back on in the spring.

As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the team!

We Ride As One Cambridgeshire 6 May 2024

Cambridgeshire rides together EVENT SPOTLIGHT

With the mighty roar of engines in your ears, the streaks of dynamic Ducati Red in your eyeline and the promise of camaraderie and adventure, We Ride As One is an event the biking community all around the globe can enjoy.

Our more local event was organised by the Cambridge Ducati Owners Club, which saw Ducatisti from all walks of life come together to share their love for the iconic Italian brand against a backdrop of rolling hills and winding country roads.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore Ducati’s latest line-up, from the agile Monster to the powerful Panigale. And the Ducati Cambridge team? We weren’t just on hand to provide insights and guidance – we were your co-conspirators in crafting your perfect ride!

The event also featured group rides through the stunning Cambridgeshire countryside, ending up at Peterborough Cathedral – offering participants the chance to experience the thrill of riding

in formation while soaking in the scenic beauty of their surroundings.

But the event was more than just a showcase of bikes; it was a celebration of community and camaraderie. Friendships were forged over a shared laugh, a knowing nod or swapped tales of epic journeys, as seasoned road warriors and fresh faces alike celebrated the brand that’s as much about soul as it is about speed. And that’s not all! The We Ride As One event united the global Ducati community, bringing riders

together from across the world to celebrate the thrill of riding and the excellence of the brand.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sound of engines lingered in the air: a fitting end to a day that reminded us that the open road is always better when shared. Here’s to the Ducati riders who made the day unforgettable, and to the roads still waiting to be conquered. See you on the next ride.
