Marketing is the life blood of any business that wants to excel in their industry or niche as our American friends call it. Online marketing is a guaranteed way to get in the flow of opportunities. Google loves content, as most of you know, so how do you continue to find new things to write about? A few weeks ago I wrote a post about one of googles tools that helps with trend The Google insights for search tool gives a great indication of what is hot and topical. For instance let’s look at popular searches in the uk over the last few months. Top of the list is facebook followed by the BBC, and then various search engines and ebay. Some great insight into what the British public has on their mind! It is a well known fact that if you link your content and it’s keywords to current events you are more likley to get more hits. A few months ago facebook released the information that they would allow usernames rather than a group of numbers. I wrote an article on this called good usernames for facebook.This article still ranks and gets traffic. It was relatively easy to do. All I did was follow a trend and give some useful information at a time when people were searching for it. Hot search with a current news theme. let’s explore more about current affairs. Next to facebook when it comes to volume of searches in the UK is the “beeb”, ie the b.b.c. So logic might say that anything in the news would be useful to explore and use in an article or content on your site. So what is going on in your industry that you could use as a story line? Is there a particular legislation that people need to know about. Is there something going on locally that you could leverage? We are based in Lancashire in the uk and are online marketers. So linking anything to do with online marketing in Lancashire and current news is going to help us divert some traffic our way! Why not have a go yourself!
