It is Grand Prix Time again.We have put together some useful tips,to provision with local markets during the Grand Prix. You might be familiar with provisioning in this small principality called Monaco,but as we all know,we are living in a industry of constant change.

Access: At avenue du Prince Héréditaire in Fontvieille

Cap D’ail has the only big supermarket in the area, and it is always busy. Try to visit the supermarket between 12 and 2pm to avoid the busiest times and intense crowds. Navigating through the aisles will always be your biggest shopping challenge, and setting up trolleys with different items in different sections of the supermarket is the way forward.

This supermarket is probably the most visited supermarket by crew and smaller yachts. Carrefour’s little brother is, unfortunately, frequently out-of-stock due to such a high turn around. Try to speak to some of the employees and they might be able to help you out with some bigger cases from their storage supplies.

They are the only place in Monaco which which sells Real Goose Foie Gras. Give them plenty of notice and they will not disappoint you.

This market is located just outside Monaco, a five minute walk from the casino. Vendors are fair with prices, however basic French skills are mandatory in order to get exactly what you want. This market is located in a hall and also has underground parking. If you are looking for good quality fish for a reasonable price, try one of the fish vendors. They will be happy to deliver straight to your yacht, and the bigger your order is, the better the prices become.

The Monte-Carlo Market at St. Charles is similar to the Condamine Market.

Try the biggest market stand for the most competitive prices but unfortunatley only a basic selection of fruit and vegetables.

A free home delivery service operated by the Mairie (town hall) for purchases made at the Condamine and Monte Carlo markets. There are six delivery vans. Deliveries are made 07:30-14:00 Monday to Saturday.

USEFUL TIPS Deliveries to monaco during the GPX are rather difficult due to traffic and the sometimes rather challenging demands from Chefs. Local fresh markets and supermarkets are your best option to maintain your stock during the GPX.

Beating the Traffic: If you are in with the deck crew, then you could tender all your goods from Cap D’ail directly to the dock without even seeing a single car. Heli Monaco also offers several daily flights from Nice airport to Cap’dail. The rest we will leave up to your imagination!
