Colorado Fabrics’ first annual fashion show showcased the amazing work of talented Colorado costumers. This was a great opportunity to see Colorado Fabrics’ beautiful fabrics transformed into stunning pieces through the imagination of these creative individuals. Colorado Fabrics is thrilled to share what we hope is the first of many events that allow our gifted community to display their creations. Colorado Fabrics’ next fashion show will be on July 28, 2018. This show will showcase children and adult fashion. Check them out at http://www.coloradofabrics.com/

A Star I
Article by: Simba Photography by: Lauren Magin
Q&A with Simba, A Denver YouTube Star!
★
1. What inspires you about Denver Fashion? Denver fashion has a unique look to it; we have a perfect mixture of East Coast and West Coast style. With the constant change of weather, it's easy to create distinctive outfits for every occasion. Personally, I factor in weather along with colors and layers. We have such a beautiful city that you can never go wrong with essentials like flannels, distressed jeans, graphic tees, and some fresh sneakers.
2. What is it like to be a rising Denver and YouTube star? Being a rising star in Denver is such a great experience. Knowing that every step that you take spreads your brand’s awareness and voice is inspiring. It can get hard sometimes because a lot of people in the city tend to "sleep" on the talent that we already have. I'm always preaching about supporting local talent, businesses, and youth and I believe we'll get there someday. For now, it's a struggle to grasp the people's attention. With that being said, if you know how to work both of those factors to your advantage, you can create a pretty good self-motivation support system. I feel like the aspiring stars of the city should continue working on their craft and citizens should respect that.
3. How did you get to where you are today in your career? I attribute a lot of my success to my work ethic but I can't deny that I think God has been a huge factor in where I'm at right now. My work ethic is pure ambition and self-motivation, anybody reaching for any type of goal or dream must appreciate the process and trust in themselves before everything. With that type of mindset, I truly believe you can’t be stopped. The other part to that is God. For me, it goes deeper than a set of beliefs but a sort of mission.
4. Do you find it hard being a young, local celebrity? I find that it's hard being any type of celebrity in Denver, especially a young one. Like I said earlier, we overlook our talent and being young doesn't help foster any respect. Many look down on the younger generation, but I think if we actually gave attention to the right people, their perspective would change. It'll get easier as time goes on, we'll learn to give support to where it's due.

Jack Frost & Edna Mode
Editor-In-Chief: Georgez Dabit
Cosplay and costumes are not only fun, but for many, dressing up is a lifestyle. I met many cosplayers who dress up for the fashions but also because it's a part of their everyday job or hobby. This issue was very exciting to produce and as many know, took forever to publish because of how detailed I wanted everything to be. The idea for this issue comes from Travis Schiffer, a dear friend that has helped me for many years at my fashion shows. I am so happy he won our contest and gave us the idea for this issue.
What I really loved about this issue was dressing up. Many of my friends know that I am a sucker for costumes and themed attire. It took me forever to figure out who would be the featured model on the cover and editorials. It was a hard choice, but I ended up coming up with the idea of taking on Jack Frost and making it my own with a couple twists.
Not only did I take on Jack Frost, but I also took on Edna Mode from the Incredibles for Denver Comic Con. We were invited as media to cover the event and had the pleasure to meet many great people. My brother, Joseph, designed the sleeves for my costume and I put together the rest and it turned out amazing. I loved this issue and hope many people will enjoy this issue, too.
