Hello As we get nearer to the festive season, we hope you’ll join us both indoors and out. No-one should miss Derby’s biggest ball as the pantomime returns to Derby Arena with Cinderella and you can cast yourselves off and join the Babbling Vagabonds in a swashbuckling Christmas adventure with Captain Sprout and the Christmas Pirates at the Guildhall Theatre. Take a spin on the Cathedral Quarter 3aaa Christmas Ice Rink, browse the Christmas Arts and Craft Fair in the Market Place or experience a traditional Christmas with Family Festivities at Markeaton Park. As the New Year arrives, we have a season full of music and theatre. We have three gigs from Derby Jazz, including the fabulous Julian Siegel Jazz Orchestra, the jaw dropping guitarist Martyn Joseph and some of Britain’s leading folk musicians in folk ballad The Transports.

Great family theatre comes from Oddsocks’ The Jungle Book, which promises music, muppetry and laughter and The Giant Jam Sandwich as a classic children’s picture book comes to life on stage. If you celebrate Valentine’s Day then you can enjoy a fire-lit meal with your loved one before witnessing the first meeting of Romantic poets Byron and Shelley in A Romantic Affair at Kedleston Hall. Looking ahead into April, we’re excited about the return of the 2Q Festival to the Guildhall Theatre – a mix of headliners and emerging talent and The Ladyboys of Bangkok are back with an energetic, exotic and eclectic new show.
