HELLO We’re starting the season off with laughter as Derby Comedy Festival returns this May, with stand up, musical comedy and fantastic family-friendly fun. This is followed by a programme of events as part of the Derby Book Festival. Derby Arena plays host to some great big names with both Brian Cox Live and Jimmy Carr, as well as world famous Elvis and Michael Jackson tribute shows with Shawn Klush and The King of Pop. Don’t miss Poppies: Weeping Window at Derby’s Silk Mill this June and July, where you’ll get the chance to experience the impact of the ceramic poppy sculpture in a location that has a particular First World War resonance.
Our Outdoor Theatre and Cinema season returns to Markeaton Park Craft Village, as the hilarious Oddsocks bring Shakespeare to life with Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. Support Big Adventures Community Theatre’s The Last Revolution or enjoy a Wild Walk with the Babbling Vagabonds. Grab your friends and some popcorn and settle down to a unique cinema experience with classic films Grease and Mamma Mia. The great programme of summer events continues at Markeaton Park - why not browse the stalls and eat cake at the park’s first Great Food and Drink Festival, or bring the kids down for a week of activities at our Superhero Picnic in the Park.
GUILDHALL THEATRE LIFT
Our lift is being replaced, unfortunately this means between 10 Apr - 4 Jun (subject to change), if you use a wheelchair, or have mobility issues, there will be no way other than the stairs of reaching the theatre and bar.
