HELLO
With the festive season in full swing, we hope you’ve found time to ‘be our guest’ at Derby’s biggest pantomime. Beauty and the Beast is a spectacular show with a brand new production team bringing new magic to this timeless classic. The show runs until the end of December so don’t miss out. Our Guildhall Theatre Christmas show Prince Stroppy Pants and the Christmas Caper is also a great treat for younger audiences and is running until 28 December. Looking to the New Year, we’ve already got a fantastic season of shows planned to take you through to spring. Getting us off to a great start is Oddsock’s The Wizard of Oz. You might have seen the Oddsocks at our outdoor performances in Markeaton Park during the Summer. Don’t worry, you won’t have to brave the winter elements, this fun and family-friendly production takes place in the comfort of the Guildhall Theatre.
Derby Arena promises to be absolutely chock-full of your favourite comedians this year, starting with Russell Brand and Ed Byrne joining us in April as part of their national tours. Look out for even more famous names over the summer. For the perfect Valentine’s day treat why not join us at Kedleston Hall where the Lost Boys will be returning with their highly successful production of A Romantic Affair. With three course meal and bubbly included, this sumptious evening’s entertainment will be sure to win you brownie points with your other half. Later in the season, the city centre will come alive with some great outdoor events. Dig out all your green clothes and join us for St Patrick’s Day celebrations. Followed closely by St George’s Day celebrations, where visitors can enjoy a parade of dragons and traditional dancing, plus loads of great activities in the Market Place. So wrap up warm and come on out, there’s too much going on to miss!
