HELLO

With the festive season getting underway, we hope you’ve managed to take in one of our Christmas shows or events. Jack and the Beanstalk is the biggest pantomime of them all with giant sized jokes - a perfect treat for the whole family! The show runs into early January, so don’t miss out! Our Guildhall Theatre Christmas show, The Dinosaur Who Came for Christmas is a roar-some story full of colourful characters and theatrical magic and is running until the 30 December. Looking ahead into the New Year, we’ve got a fantastic season of events planned to take you through the dark nights and into the spring. Kicking off January, we’re pleased to welcome back an old friend as Mike McClean returns with an evening of comedy, and looking forward to a week of new adventures with Oddsocks’ Robin Hood and the Revolting Peasants. We have some cracking entertainment for children this season, with Comedy Club 4 Kids, The Selfish Giant and then Dear Zoo as the timeless children’s classic book

returns to the stage. Comedy comes from Stephen K Amos, Stephen Bailey and Alfie Moore with his interactive journey through a murder investigation. At the Arena we have a fabulous programme of big names, music and comedy in the coming months. Starting with Professor Brian Cox and Whitney - Queen of the Night in February and then followed by Elvis Tribute Artist World Tour with Shawn Klush and Dean Z, Fast Love, Killer Queen and Rhod Gilbert, to name a few! Later in the season we welcome back The Ladyboys of Bangkok with their Greatest Showgirls Tour - a cabaret like no other cabaret! This St George’s Day weekend we also have celebrations inside and outside with our programme of St George’s Day Celebrations on the Market Place, with Morris dancing and lots of English eccentricity. Indoors, we’ve got an evening of folk, fun and frivolity with Malcolm Stent and Mad Jocks and Englishmen.
