HELLO

This season at Derby LIVE sees the return of many of our favourite family events. Back after a year’s break The Hannells Darley Park Concert looks to be bigger and better than ever with classical pieces voted for by you. Why not bring your picnic and join us for the whole afternoon as the musicians warm-up for what promises to be a memorable evening of music and fireworks. The Derby Folk Festival returns for it’s eleventh year with headliners Oysterband, Show of Hands and False Lights as well as loads of other great music and events in venues around the Cathedral Quarter. Keep the kids entertained during the October half-term with A Stroppy Workshoppy. The Babbling Vagabonds bring this puppet making workshop to the Guildhall Clubrooms and Markeaton Park. Great fun for children of all ages.

As Christmas approaches, there will be some fantastic festive events going on across the city to help you get in the holiday mood. Get your skates on for the return of the Cathedral Quarter 3aaa Christmas Ice Rink in the Market Place and look out for the Family Festivities at Markeaton Park where you can meet your favourite christmas characters and enjoy some traditional fairground rides. Bring the children to see Prince Stroppy and the Christmas Caper at the Guildhall Theatre where the Babbling Vagabonds will be telling the story of the bossiest, stroppiest, snottiest prince that ever did live! Last but not least, our family pantomime Beauty and the Beast promises to be a spectacular show with new production team, Little Wolf bringing some exciting and fresh ideas to this classic story of love conquering evil. Bring your best boos and hisses to Derby Arena for this star-studded and spellbinding tale.
