At Derby Museums, we offer you the opportunity to design your own wedding, giving you the flexibility to choose your own catering as you wish. We are also licensed to hold civil ceremonies.

We don’t offer set packages, allowing you the freedom to make your special day whatever you want it to be. Our experienced staff can offer advice and suggest trusted suppliers to help you plan every detail. It’s your day, it should be perfect for you.

Derby’s stunning red brick former Central Library building was designed in 1876 in Flemish Gothic style. Its striking arched entrance, beautiful glass atrium and ornate mezzanine balcony, full of curiosities, make this Grade II Listed building a unique and stylish venue for your wedding, located in the very heart of the city.

If you’re looking for something different, why not hold your wedding in our newly refurbished World Collections Gallery? Home to fascinating objects from across the globe, and furnished with beautiful Victorian architecture, this light and airy space has recently been restored to its former glory and would provide the perfect backdrop for your special day.


PICKFORD’S HOUSE AN 18TH CENTURY GRADE I LISTED TOWN HOUSE Architect Joseph Pickford’s 18th Century town house is a celebration of Georgian living, complete with stunning furniture and fittings. The beautiful gardens provide an ideal backdrop for wedding drinks and photographs, and the property makes a charming location for more intimate gatherings. The Great Dining Room offers a special fine dining experience, while the Top Gallery provides space for a more informal wedding buffet.

THE MUSEUM OF MAKING ICONIC RIVERSIDE LOCATION IN THE HEART OF THE CITY Derby’s iconic Silk Mill stands on the site of the world’s first factory and is part of the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site.
