You will engage in real or simulated legal practice, undertake problem-based research, and can specialise through original academic enquiry. Lectures and tutorials are delivered by the UK’s most effective law teaching team. Teaching support includes fortnightly individual tutorials (Year One), professional skills coaching (Year Two) and a customised curriculum, aimed at developing your practise of research specialisms (Year Three). All students have access to independent practitioner mentors.
Your career Derby LLB graduates have an outstanding success rate of gaining scholarships at the Bar and are in high demand amongst solicitors firms because of their practical skills. Students also go onto higher study and academic careers, as well as achieving rapid promotion in other areas of endeavour. What you’ll cover
The Derby LLB is grounded on an internationally-informed but highly practical curriculum. It provides the opportunity for you to develop specialist legal expertise or explore the fascinating range of over forty modules of study. The LLB also develops outstanding legal practice skills, and offers exemption from the academic stage of study for qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister.
