Teaching and learning You will learn through lectures, tutorials, seminars and e-learning. This course has a strong practical focus, to enhance your understanding of the subject and also to provide you with the knowledge and skills you will need for a career in human biology. You will be assessed in a variety of ways, as we understand no single assessment style suits everyone, so we take a diverse approach across the different modules.

About the course This stimulating course will address how the human body is regulated in health and disease. You will cover the complex inter-relationships of the physiological, psychological, biochemical and molecular regulation of the human body, and also gain the employability skills to enhance your career prospects when you graduate. You will be taught by our team of tutors, some of whom are experienced human health researchers, and you will also have specialist guest lecturers to give you an insight into the recent advances in human biology.

This course allows you to specialise in an area of human biology of your choice by choosing from a range of optional modules. You will cover areas of biological sciences, forensic science, psychology and sport science. Many of our lecturers are active researchers, so you can be sure that the knowledge you gain is underpinned by the latest research, as they will share their expertise with you. Between stages two and three, you could also apply to work in industry which will enhance your CV.

Independent Studies for Biological and Forensic Sciences
What you will cover You can tailor this course to your own interests by choosing from a series of optional modules in stages two and three. These optional modules cover areas such as biology, forensic science, psychology and sport and exercise.
