July issue already getting published!?! The summer riding season is upon us and going fast! There are so many things to do and so many awesome fund-raising events that it’s impossible to go to all of them. Our Foundation is very active and our members are doing what they can to help out. Yes, there are some who aren’t always available to participate because of family or special events that they have been going to for years and yet you always have special members who are dedicated to our cause and are always there and can be counted on. We have been blessed with caring and loving families who have hearts as big as watermelons and care about organizations that help those in need. They never blink when it’s time to work! We just finished with one of our big events at the Milan Community Fair. We had so many people stop by and recognize our mission for Motorcycle Awareness and Suicide Prevention that hopefully we did make a difference in the community recognizing that “You are NOT alone” and there is help available with our information and supplies we had at our booth. April was National Child Abuse Prevention Month and in an effort to raise awareness and support this cause, Hot Rods Motorcycle Awareness and Suicide Prevention Foundation, our nonprofit based in Milan, worked with the Foster Care / Children’s Protective Services in Lenawee County to gather supplies for a “Grab and Go” bag program. Our members did an awesome job gathering backpacks, duffel bags, art supplies, hygiene products, blankets, small toys, stuffed animals and McDonald gift cards. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services really appreciated our efforts and the donations. Thanks to the The Daily Telegram in Adrian for placing an article in your newspaper- this really warmed our hearts. All bikers know what it’s like to be looked at differently when we dress in our protective gear, wear our vests with patches all over them, have tattoos or whatever, but you will not find a more caring, exceptional, giving group of individuals anywhere in any organization than bikers. You are special and much appreciated. May God bless us all!

May the road rise to meet you and the wind always be at your back.
