FROM THE PUBLISHER As Summer comes to a close and we start to look back on the year, more than forward to it; I’m left reflecting on why we ride and support the events we do. And how things have changed… or not? Not since 9/11 has our nation undergone such an abrupt and cataclysmic change as what we went through since we were hit with the 3 Horseman of 2020 – COVID, Systemic Racism, and Anti-Authority / Police Defund movement. While it’s easy to politicize so much of this, there’s no denying that there are some serious issues that our nation is facing at this moment. The politicians are doing what they do – but they aren’t making these issues up (that’s the media ). They are tapping into issues and insecurities that we have as a nation. So what do we do? I heard a commentator, political speaker mention that people are constantly asking him what they should do. “What can we do?” His advice was to go back to living like we had. Living life as normally as possible. I would disagree on that advice – at least for the majority. For those that get up every weekend, and ride to support various causes and folks in need – yeah, you should go back to doing what you do. For most of our nation, I’d say that it’s time you stand up and take a stand. Make sure that your voice is heard. You need to let the powers-that-be know that you have an opinion and you need to let them know what matters to you. As bikers, we may have a louder “voice”. When we gather in packs of 20, 50, 100, 150, or even 800-1,000 riders – the GROUND RUMBLES, our PIPES ROAR, and WE ARE HEARD. We ride and can show our support. We can show that we care. And that’s a powerful thing. It’s important to realize that when we ride for a cause, we aren’t simply riding to raise funds – although that is a huge component and can make all the difference. We are riding to show our support – and in many cases that’s what REALLY matters. This past month, I had the chance to ride on the 9th Annual Sassy’s Poker Run. It was an incredible event that raised over $26,000 to help two families that were struggling. Each had a young girl that was facing incredible medical challenges – and it was difficult to even imagine how overwhelming life must be for their parents and family. Every day is a struggle and the prognosis isn’t great. However, they MUST endure and stay positive for their children that look to them for strength. So on that day, we didn’t just ride to raise funds. We rode to raise spirits – and show our support for families in need. And as we look forward, I’d call on all of you to CONTINUE to ride and support the causes and organizations that mean something to you. RIDE to support local vets, children in need, the things that matter – but most basically, RIDE to SUPPORT OUR NATION! RIDE and be HEARD as a reminder that we are a Nation that CARES and rides as ONE. We love our nation and the values that built it. And we RIDE to empower and show support for those fighting to make a difference, fighting to defend our nation and communities, and fighting for loved ones. We are ALL in this TOGETHER. Never forget or let anyone tell you otherwise. As always, I appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you out on the road! Sincerely, D. A. Smith

As Told By

THE IRON COWBOY

VETERAN’S RIDE GUIDES and STATE CALENDARS coming for 2022

EVENT & ORGANIZER BEST OF OHIO This year we are starting our BEST OF OHIO AWARD discussion a little earlier than normal, partly because we are adding a new aspect to the program. This year, we would like to focus on the CHARITABLE EVENTS and the people that provide the drive behind them.

Thunder Roads Ohio is teaming up with Veteran Service Organizations all across Ohio to create a POCKET GUIDE for Vets that ride and their families. This project has been in the works for several years, and faced numerous set-backs along the way – most notable the COVID shutdown as the pieces started to fall into place. But we are going to make it happen in 2022 – and we’d welcome your help. The idea is to have a pocket guide that lists various riding events – along with resources throughout the state – of interest to VETERANS. We hope to feature many of the traditional riding events that happen every year to honor those that have served, as well as a directory of service organizations that help vets in our community. We envision one piece that we can put in the hands of vets, their families, and those wanting to show their support! Local and regional veteran service groups are invited to join in the effort, both as a means to promote their programs but also help raise funds for themselves and the causes they support. There are ZERO out of pocket expenses for service organizations to join in – and event organizers and businesses are invited to come aboard as sponsors to help make this all happen. Proceeds from the Guide and accompanying Calendars will go directly to help support Veterans in our communities and those that serve them. For more information, email ThunderRoadsOhio@gmail.com or you can contact me directly at Smith.IronCowboy@gmail.com

This year has been an especially challenging year for almost all of us – but it’s been especially hard on those that organize and pull off the countless charitable rides and benefits that far too many of us take for granted. In many cases, events that draw hundreds and even thousands are spear headed by and possibly even pulled off entirely due to the efforts of a small group of people. In many cases, you might even say that it falls on ONE key person that pulls everyone together and shepherd them through the event. And in many – if not most – of these cases, there is little to no compensation for many of the biggest rides and events that we all attend throughout the year. To that end, we would like to invite our readers to NOMINATE individuals and organizations that you feel we should recognize for their efforts this past year – and possibly beyond. Just send us an email with information on who you think we should recognize and why. If possible, please include specific examples of how you’ve dealt with them and efforts you’ve seen. We will select individuals and organizations from those nominated – to receive the TRO BEST OF OHIO AWARDS. These include not only recognition and some cool extra’s for them – but we will also be awarding OVER $10,000 in PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT and ADVERTISING for them in 2022. We want to get behind these folks and help ensure their success going forward. Email us at ThunderRoadsOhio@gmail.com and include “EVENT ORGANIZER” in the subject line. Thank you!

IN THE COMING MONTHS November 2021: VETERAN’S EDITION Our annual Veterans Edition focuses on those that have served and their families. We highlight service organizations and motorcycle / riding associations that include Veteran’s as part of their mission. Extra distribution through VFW’s, American Legions, and other organizations. December 2021: HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE Suggestions and recommended gifts for riders on your holiday shopping list, as well as maybe some ideas for yourself! January 2022: WINTER PROJECTS

The Lone Star Rally returns for 2021 – and it NEEDS to be on your rally bucket list! Coming up on the tail end of the national rally schedule lies the LONE STAR RALLY (www.LoneStarRally.com) – also known as the “Galveston Rally” – it’s by far the biggest of the Texas motorcycle rallies and runs November 4-7th. If you’re not familiar, Galveston is an island on the Gulf Coast of Texas – and for more than 100 years it’s been a popular destination for rascals and those wanting to simply get away. In fact, some legends tell that the city itself was founded by New Orleans pirates looking to escape the US government. More than 200 years later, you can still sense that Creole’, New Orleans flavor to the city – with that special Texas touch of course! The downtown Strand is surely a sight to be seen, and in my opinion is easily the coolest “downtown stretch” of any motorcycle rally. And then on the other side of the island, there’s the Seawall – a cool stretch of live music, shows, vendors, and party destinations. And as an added bonus – it’s virtually ALL FREE! With free general admission to all the rally concerts and venues.

A review of do it yourself projects and bigger endeavours that you might use some of our recommended contacts for – such as painting, pinstriping, and engine overhauls. February 2022: HITTING THE ROAD! A winter edition that focuses on destinations to consider in the upcoming warmer months. Camping, rallies, and trips worth taking. For information on placing ads or getting your business / organization or services featured in any of these editions – email us at ThunderRoadsOhio@gmail.com or call 440-678-8609 for more information.

It truly is Mardi Gras with motorcycles as the rally transforms Galveston into BIKER ISLAND. Check it out online and make your plans today!

MOTORCYCLE MINISTRIES I cannot believe we are already into October! What a season we have had! The Rodeo, Vintage Days, State Rally, Poker Runs, Toy Runs, Bike Blessings, Veteran Runs, The Traveling Wall….So many events and so happy to have been a part in some way! Being able to get out and see your happy faces makes what we do all the better! CMA is so happy to be part of your lives in some way. Whether it’s to give you a cup of water or coffee, cook a hotdog or two, bring a word into your life or a prayer for your soul, we love being here for YOU! Sometimes people ask us why we do it. “Why do you pick up the trash?” “Why are you here in this place?” “Why do you care?” I can answer all of those questions with one word….Love. You see, it’s really all about love. The Bible says we are to “Love God and put Him first, then we are to love our neighbor as ourselves.” (Matthew 22:39 Look it up!)

so deeply. That’s how God sees us…His precious creation. And if God sees you that way, then we need to treat each other the same….with kindness, caring and love. Well, the bottom line is this….we are brothers and sisters with a common like mind in the motorcycling community. We know why we ride, we share a common goal in life which is not just to get to where we are going but to enjoy the time between departure and arrival so that when we do get to where we are going we can say we have arrived. And when you see CMA arrive, you know we are there to be about you and how we can make your day better! We are here when you need us! Mary G.

How hard is that? If I saw you stumble and fall, my first instinct would be to come and help you up. Why? Because I would want someone to help me up if I fell. There are many things that could be used as an example, but I think you get the drift. Doing the word, is about sharing the love. It’s love on purpose. We do what we do to show you the love of our Great Father, God. He is love and He abides in us therefore we are love. So how can we look at this world today with all its brokenness and heartaches, murders, wars, anger and hatred and still talk about love? Because love looks beyond the surface and reaches deep into the heart, where truth is found and love abounds. ‘But Miss Mary, you don’t know how bad I am and all the things I have done! How could you say God would love me?’ Because He has known you before you were even in the womb of your Mama. You were fearfully and wonderfully made by His hands and any choices you made in your lifetime due to the pressures of the enemy of God, His love will cover if you just let Him. Love covers a multitude of sin, and His love is so deep it is hard to comprehend. It’s like a parent when they see their child for the first time and they wonder how they can love something so tiny,

KENNEDY STYLE Back at it!

For those of you who have glanced at one or two of my articles in the past, Kennedy Style has been on hiatus. Well here I am back at it. 2020 and the beginning of 2021 have been interesting to say the least at the Kennedy household. Of course in 2020 and into 2021, we were all dealt the Covid hand and regardless of your views, life as we knew it changed drastically. I was fortunate and worked throughout the pandemic. In early April however total hip replacement surgery was in the cards for me. While I was willing, my doctor said I was not able to ride until mid June. And he was right. It actually took a bit longer until my hip and leg felt strong enough to take a spin on the bike.

by: Denise Kennedy, TRO

And for the first time our ride of choice were our scooters. Yep Yamaha Zuma's; 125 cc's of pure power. Early in the week we took a ride to downtown Ashtabula. A really cool center of town rich in history. Stopped for a cold beverage at Brennan's. Built in 1889 the home of this little pub was originally a brothel. An authentic tin ceiling remains in place and we learned that repairs to the plumbing exposed bottles discarded during Prohibition in the crawl space. Downtown boasts some interesting shops and Briquettes Smoke House was worth the wait til they opened at 3:00 p.m. The weather truly cooperated the entire week/weekend for the first time in a long time. One quick shower during the day didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Tons of riders, plenty of bands and a chance to reconnect with friends made in previous years.

While I may not have been able to ride, surgery didn’t keep me totally down. The end of June brought the return of AMA Vintage Days at MidOhio Sports Car Course. Attendance was absolutely phenomenal. Reserved campsites sold out early. The overflow camping areas were also packed. The swap meet was indeed the largest in North America as vendors who were unable to show their wares in 2020 came out in droves. While bike count for some of the races was down, those that entered put on one hell of a show.

TRO's Thunder Zone was rocking with what I think was one of the largest bike shows in recent years. Although Summer is winding down I am back at it!

August brought us to MotoAmerica at Pittsburgh International Raceway. Either from our camp site on the fence or the awesome view from Wheelie Hill, the boys of MotoAmerica put on a great show. Which brings us to Thunder on the Strip. This year we decided to make a week out of it. Thunder does not technically start until Thursday and many restaurants are closed until Wednesday afternoon. However, this year we took advantage of the beautiful September weather and made the most of it. Time spent with family and friends. Wineries are abundant and the smell of ripening grapes fill the air.

TRO CHAMPIONSHIP BIKE SHOW SERIES

OCTOBER UPDATE!

Summer is OFFICIALLY over and we’ve just wrapped up our biggest show of the year – The Geneva Thunder Zone Bike Show! And yeah – it’s been a GREAT YEAR! After 2020 and with so much of the craziness still going on, we really weren’t sure how it was going to go. The riding community proved how resilient we are and sure enough – we are STILL riding and our shows were all well attended. Participation was great, even at the new locations; and more and more new exhibitors came out to show off their bikes! While we still have two more shows in October, things are mostly wrapping up in terms of the Ride-In shows which are our primary focus most of the year. Over the winter – we still have a few invitational exhibitions, but there are very few true open shows. It’s our hope, though, that we kick things off to start the year with some really strong ones. Plans are undeway and stay tuned for the announcements. If you haven’t already – be sure to like our facebook page (www.facebook.com/ThunderRoadsOhio) or follow our Blogs (ThunderRoadsOhio.com) for updates.

SHOW PICTURES We’ve posted over well over 1,000 Bike Show pictures from this year’s series on our Facebook page, sorted in Albums by the particular shows. You’re welcome to tag and share these as you’d like. We are working with some new partners to offer the ability to easily get these printed and sent to you – with just a few clicks. Hope to have an announcement on that shortly. Currently, however, we do have the means to get you posters – even big vinyl banners for your garage – of any images we have. Our partner, NEO PRO IMAGING ( www.neoproimaging.com ) is able to do some amazing things with pictures – such as metal or acrylic prints suitable for mounting on the wall or professionally displaying. Email us for more information BikeShowInfo@gmail.com We plan on doing a lot more PHOTO FEATURES on this year’s bike shows over the upcoming months. Give us something to enjoy over the Winter – so stay tuned.

INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS Follow us on facebook (www.facebook.com/ThunderRoadsOhio) for announcements and updates on the upcoming INVITATIONAL SHOWS. All winners from the 2021 Summer Series are eligible to participate in these CASH winning shows. Traditionally, the OHIO BIKE WEEK SHOW and PISTON POWER SHOWS were the series invitational, championship shows. Unfortunately, both of these shows have been impacted by the pandemic.

MSTA FlyBy Week- Fun Times in 2021 Marietta, Ohio, August 23-29- Motorcycle Sport Touring Association's regional FlyBy Week was fantastic this year. For starters we had good weather- although temperatures were warm, the entire week was dry except for a shower Tuesday afternoon. Riders were readyeveryone was eager to get free from the restrictions of COVID and get together for some serious riding. Roads were readyin both Ohio and West Virginia they were in the best shape in years. This year's event had twenty seven routes to choose from, including six adventure routes, so there was something for everyone.

Everyone rode routes during the day and most took advantage of the nightly "dinner tours," where transportation was provided to and from nice restaurants downtown so attendees did not have to put on gear and ride their bikes to dinner. Those who didn't go downtown had more than twelve places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotels, including Las Trampas, a superb Mexican restaurant.

The new dual hotel venue, featuring the adjoining Hampton and Microtel Inns, worked out great, providing both space for our "outdoor lounge" and a meeting room for registration and seminars.

Jeremy Riffle of Dayton, Ohio's Vehicle Enhancements Inc, is a detailing expert, and brought a trailer full of bike washing equipment and supplies for the free use of event attendees. He even washed some of their bikes for them. Thursday- Saturday our masseuse, Anne-Marie LaFrance, performed free twenty minute mini massages in the registration room and gave a seminar on pain management Friday evening. After arriving and getting set up on Monday, I was able to lead a ride every day and still get back in time to open registration. Tuesday and Wednesday, I had special routes set up to check the county roads of Northern West Virginia and was pleasantly surprised at their good condition. The only problem was the failure of fellow rider Jennie Kimes' clutch on Wednesday. I brought her back to the hotel on my bike, where one of the other attendees immediately offered the use of his truck and trailer to retrieve her bike. The clutch problem was not fixable, but she still got to ride on Thursday, borrowing Jeremy Riffle's new 790 KTM Adventure bike. THUNDER ROADS® OHIO MAGAZINE

bad luck, but he coasted to a stop only a couple hundred feet from a gas station. Only took him a minute to push it across the road and fill up. Friday I led a larger group on the new road route created by local resident Ron Vess, which included a number of formerly gravel county roads that have been upgraded to nice pavement, thanks to the pipeline and oil development of the past few years which is now complete. We were having a great time until we came to the spot where a bridge was being repaired and the road was completely blocked. We backtracked a short distance and were able to detour on a gravel road that only took us about a quarter mile before coming out on another nice paved road. The lunch stop on this route was the Sakura Family Restaurant in Bellaire, Ohio. It's an Asian restaurant with a wide variety of good food. A number of attendees rode the adventure routes throughout the week, with Marcus Yonker and Brian Holmes leading rides on the weekend. We are developing more routes for the ADV riders and are very happy to have them.

For 2021, we had over 140 riders from 17 states, with around forty first time attendees. Thursday the most popular day of arrival, although there were many who came earlier in the week and some left before the weekend. It was a nice size group that made it easy to meet new people and connect with others to ride with. Mark your calendars now for next year's FlyBy Week- August 22-28, 2022- we already have lots of new things planned. The new website goes live on January 1, 2022, at flybyweek.com

EDITOR’S PICK: While Daytona Bike Week in the Spring will ALWAYS be one of our favorite rallies – especially because of the respite it provides from the colder weather up North – BIKETOBERFEST in Daytona is certainly one of the rallies that people seem to always forget up in the Midwest… For many it’s the “little brother / spin-off” from Bike Week – which it may be; but there are a lot of argument for it offering some advantages over it’s “Big Brother”. In fact, I prefer it. The more scaled down format of Biketoberfest – covering just one weekend, really makes it a lot more relaxed and enjoyable for me. I prefer the slower pace and the weather always seems A LOT better, in my mind. And many of my favorite events and locations are firing on all cylinders – sometimes much better than they do in the Spring. A few locations – such as the Broken Spoke – are not open during the Fall rally; but with just the one weekend, there is MORE than enough to fill the days and nights.

Recommended Stop: BEAR CREEK ATV TRAILS / CAMPGROUND

East Sparta OH Get out for the Day or Camp for the Weekend! The boys and I recently had a chance to check out Bear Creek Ranch KOA and Amphitheatre. These are two separate properties about a mile apart, under same ownership. One is a full featured campground with over 100 campsites, RV sites, and even fully furnished cabins. There is a pool, 5 acre lake for fishing and boating, and even horseback riding.

While some parks are more tightly managed and controlled – this one is certainly more comfortable with a sense of being able to just get out and explore. I also took comfort in the fact that the layout kept you always in the area. If there were problems, folks were in the area and you were never too far from your trucks / parking.

Bear Creek Amphitheatre is an offroad park with over 300 acres and about 28 miles of wooded trails, a maniacal motocross track that offers hours of entertainment, and several impressive hillclimbs. Additionally, it has several big open practice areas for beginners.

Please note: The only running water onsite at the off-road area, is the Bike Wash area! That’s a bonus at the end of the day, but come prepared with lotsa of water for riders!

We had a great time and Cole enthusiastically endorsed Bear Creek as his favorite ATV park thus far – but in all fairness to the others, that may be partly due to the upgraded quad he was riding. For both he and his younger brother, there was plenty of space to roam and explore – along with big open areas to play. The trails were a bit challenging for them; but we did alright with adults riding at each end of the procession. The trails are unmarked, in terms of how challenging they are – but I’ve found that the markers at other parks are often very misleading. So, maybe the best approach is ALWAYS to simply go in alert and watching for challenges. The Motocross Track is a multi-level, overlapping affair that offered a lot of challenges and opportunities for riders of all levels. Cole could have probably spent the whole day just on the track – and he would have been happy.

The Campground Just a few minutes down the road from the off-road park is the Bear Creek KOA Campground. The whole area has a fun, rustic western feel to it – right down to “Cowboys” on the put-put course and horseback riding. The facilities are open year-round with RV, tent sites, and a selection of different cabin styles. These include more basic Kamper Kabins which are nicer than many of the simple “wooden tents” that we usually use. For this trip, we went all-out and got Country Cottages for the one night stay with the kids. These are fully furnished and really comfortable. They even had fireplaces and really spacious, clean showers. Admittedly, I like using the cabins whenever possible – especially when staying at the more civilized campgrounds with the kids. They are usually only a bit more than the tent space, and you don’t have to worry about setting up or placing faith in a rain fly in case of serious rain. This trip was somewhat last minute and it was nice not having to worry about packing too much for the stay. We focused more on the riding and the camping was more about relaxing – which I would certainly recommend.

Bear Creek ATV Ranch / KOA Campground 3232 Downing Street East Sparta, OH 44626 (330) 484-3901 www.BearCreek.us Off-Road Park Hours: •

October through April 30th: Weekends 8am-5pm

May 1st – September 30th: Friday – Sunday and Holidays 8am-7pm

Adults: $25 Children (8-10 years): $10 Spectator Fee: $5 Motorcycles, dirt bikes, ATV’s, and SxS’s – Welcome. SUV’s, Trucks, and Jeeps – No permitted. MX Helmets required. Riderplanet-usa.com rating: Four Bikes! (Very Good!) Recommended for a Full Day trip. Photos by Cole Smith and Marybeth Sullivan, Bear Creek ATV Park.

There was plenty for the kids to do around the campground after a day of riding – including a pool to unwind in. The game room was also fairly nice, with a pool table, foozball, and air hockey even. BOTTOM LINE: We would certainly recommend Bear Creek for a fun getaway with the family – or just for a day of off-road riding. PLENTY of space to go exploring in this relatively informal – just get out and ride setting. The campground was great – and the cabins are a GREAT year-round option for those riding through the area. I would CERTAINLY pick over a local hotel – if you’re looking for a place to stay in the Canton area.

SHINE 'N IRON

Doug Taylor Moonshiner & TRO Area Manager

M nshiners and Motorcycles Throughout the year we are proud to get out and support local and regional riding events that help those in our community. It’s a big part of why we ride and how we serve. This past month we had a chance to get out and help support the Dragonfly Foundation and their ride out of Queen City Harley-Davidson, one of our sponsors. Dragonfly is a 501c3 nonprofit, based in Cincinnati OH, that is dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families. For years now, the Queen City family has hosted a day to benefit Dragonfly and the kids. When a child is forced to deal with something as overwhelming as cancer – it’s a challenge for them and their family in so many ways. It’s the mission of Dragonfly to help provide these little champions and their families strength, courage, and joy – and let them know we are there for them! For more information, you can visit www.DragonFly.org Life’s about a lot more than just Moonshine and Motorcycles, and it’s important for us to keep an eye out for those in need along the way - but it’s pretty cool when we can blend it all together!

FUNNY STUFF BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS A GOOD LAUGH NOW AND THEN...

Crumpled Up A woman said to her cheating husband "Do you want to see a crumpled up $50" And he said "yes" So she reached into her pocket pulled it out and gave it to him. Then she said "do you want to see a crumpled up $100" And he said "yes" So she reached into her pocket pulled it out and gave it to him. Then she said " Do you want to see a crumpled up $50,000 and he said "yes" So she said go look for your car in the garage then. A hamburger walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve food in here." A horse walks into a bar. The bartender says, "So, why the long face?" A skeleton walks into a bar and says, "Gimme a beer, and a mop." A soccer ball walks into a bar. The bartender kicked him out. A magician walks down an alley and turns into a bar. A man walks into a bar. OUCH! You would have thought he would have seen it! A dyslexic guy walks into a bra. An Irishman walks out of a bar. Hey, it COULD happen!

In a crowded city, at a busy bus stop, a woman who was waiting for a bus was wearing a tight leather skirt. As the bus stopped and it was her turn to get on, she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the first step of the bus. Slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver, she reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little, thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg.

Drunk Husband A wife was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband's key in the door. "Stay where you are," she said. "He's so drunk he won't even notice you're in bed with me." Sure enough, the husband lurched into bed none the wiser, but a few minutes later, through a drunken haze, he saw six feet sticking out at the end of the bed. He turned to his wife: "Hey, there are six feet in this bed. There should only be four. What's going on?" "Nonsense," said the wife. "You're so drunk you miscounted. Get out of bed and try again. You can see better from over there." The husband climbed out of bed and counted. "One, two, three, four. You're right, you know."

Again, she tried to make the step only to discover she still couldn’t. So, a little more embarrassed, she once again reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little more. For the second time, attempted the step, and, once again, much to her chagrin, she could not raise her leg. With little smile to the driver, she again reached behind to unzip a little more and again was unable to make the step. About this time, a large Texan who was standing behind her picked her up easily by the waist and placed her gently on the step of the bus. She went ballistic and turned to the would-be samaritan and screeched, “How dare you touch my body! I don’t even know Who you are!” The Texan smiled and drawled, “Well, ma’am, normally I would agree with you, but after you unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured we were friends.” The wind was so strong last night I really struggled to light my cigarette. Eventually, after 20 minutes of trying, I gave in and stopped my bike on the shoulder.

It was inspired by Cole’s favorite TV show – Jake and the Neverland Pirates! When you find it, shoot us an email at BuckeyeThunderRun@ gmail.com with SCAVENGER HUNT in the subject line. Let us know what page and exactly where the logo is in this month’s magazine and we will put you in the drawing for some great TRO prizes – including some great gear and subscriptions to the magazine! How cool is that?! Scavenger Hunt Winner: Jacob Walker
